For years Mac players have been stuck with Java Edition or awkward workarounds while Bedrock delivered seamless crossplay everywhere else. That gap is closing thanks to Blockintosh a fan made project that gets the full Bedrock experience running on Apple Silicon.
A custom launcher built by one dev
The project comes from multision a 22 year old self taught developer. Their launcher handles installing the game managing worlds integrating with Xbox social features and supporting mods. Early footage shows it booting to the main menu joining servers and running at playable frame rates on current Macs.

Why Bedrock on Mac actually matters
Bedrock is the edition that lets you play with friends on Xbox PlayStation Switch Android iOS and Windows without port forwarding or extra setup. Java has mods and flexibility but lacks that universal crossplay and native controller support. Blockintosh aims to give Mac users both.

- Runs Bedrock Edition on Apple Silicon Macs
- Custom launcher with world management
- Xbox Live friends list and social features
- Native controller support through Bedrock
- Crossplay with every major platform
- Mod support in early testing
The project is still early and unofficial. Expect bugs and incomplete features for now. Interested players can follow progress in the developers Discord which has the latest builds and discussion. It is not endorsed by Mojang or Microsoft so use at your own risk but the visible progress is genuinely impressive.
If you are on a Mac and tired of being the odd one out in crossplay lobbies this is the development to watch this week. Real momentum is building around Blockintosh right as more people notice the previews.
