Hey hey there everybody how are you doing it’s me your boy axel waddler welcome back minecraft 1.17 is out now finally the update has released 1.17 is part one of the caves and cliffs update 1.17 is one of the biggest updates of all time but at the same time it’s also kind of Not that big in a way this brand new update brings over 100 new individual things to the game and it changes a lot of old update so caves and cliffs Part 1 1.17 what do we have well we have everything in this chest we have everything in this chest and then finally everything in this chest do there are so many things added to the update and these are only the new things like not things that were changed In total there were 22 snapshots not including pre-releases and release candidates for 1.17 snapshots started on november 4th last year the update was first revealed at minecraft live in october now 1.17 is the first half of the caves and cliffs update so basically this update it’s only like half an update but There are still 49 new blocks this update is seriously insane and that’s gonna bring our total up to 124 unique things like all those things we just looked at in the chest yeah 124. now when you make a brand new world in 1.17 you’re not actually going to notice that Much different up on the surface everything basically looks the same generation hasn’t changed that much in the 1.17 update all of the new things are going to be found under the ground under the ground generating you’ll be able to find amethyst geodes and down in the caves you’ll be able to find some New blocks generating some of the new blocks start to completely shift the vibe of the lower caves it makes the lower caves feel a little bit more creepy with things like deep slate it’s a pretty good lead into the next update 1.18 that’s going to redo generation Basically entirely i’ve set up a world in this world i’ve lined up every single new thing in this update there are actually 64 unique things that we’re going to take a look at starting with the geode the geode is one of the few new generation things you’ll be able to find In this update this is what a geode looks like right here gl sizes can vary they could be bigger they could be smaller this shield right here is actually a pretty large geode now usually this won’t be found floating in the air you’re gonna have to go under The ground and maybe find it like connecting to a cave a mine shaft something like that unless you’re really lucky and it’s exposed somehow but yeah geode geodes are pretty cool for a couple things the main reason you’d be going to a geo though is amethyst for sure Amethyst is a brand new purple shiny loud block that comes to the game in 1.17 these are amethyst clusters right here so amethyst is really interesting because it actually grows instead of just being ready to go you have to wait so stage one stage two stage three and then finally When it’s ready to go it’s gonna look like this now you can actually pick up any stage if you have silk touch so right here i could pick that up and if i place it down on a block that isn’t budding amethyst it won’t ever grow let’s say i found a Fully harvested one though if i break it with my hand i’m actually gonna get amethyst i’ll get two amethyst shard let’s say i was doing a little bit better though maybe i had like an iron pickaxe if i mine this thing with iron pickaxe i will get four amethyst shard Every single time same with all the other types of pickaxes but let’s say i’m doing really good like i have fortune three in it and i mine this thing and i’m lucky sometimes if you’re lucky you can actually fortune this stuff too like 20 uh up to 20 i got 16 from that Single one uh fortune 3 definitely 100 the way to go another cool thing about this stuff it actually gives off light if it were midnight i could see that it’s actually glowing now it’s not much light it’s very little but it glows amethyst shards they’re a brand new Crafting ingredient you get them from mining fully grown amethyst clusters amethyst junk around just anything though if you want amethyst you want to watch them grow you want to use them for something uh they’re gonna need to find a very specific block this is a block right here it’s called budding amethyst you Actually can’t get this in survival mode if you try and break this with anything even silk touch it will go away forever it’s kind of like a spawner amethyst can grow on every single side of this block you’ll find it inside of geodes this block looks very similar but you Can actually get it in survival mode this is the amethyst block it’s craftable you’ll need four amethyst shards to craft this thing so this block is literally compacted amethyst this black is probably gonna be pretty good for building the recipe is not two ways though once you turn this stuff into the Block the amethyst shards are gone now listen to this when i place this down oh there’s noise it’s amazing and when i walk on it there’s noise too it’s a little bit more faint but there’s noise and when i mine it there’s noise as well it’s a musical Vlog it’s so cool looking the texture is really really clean definitely a building block for sure and yeah you can pick it up you can place it back down it’s literally a normal block but it makes music tinted glass is amazing tinted glass is a brand new Glass type added to the game at 1.17 if you want this stuff you’re gonna need amethyst shard this is the recipe right here four amethyst shards one piece of glass in the middle and you’ll get two pieces of tinted glass now what does this stuff do Oh boy what does this stuff do that’s a good question so check this out we have a room down here with with a torch in it and and me in it i’m just standing here i put into glass right here nothing right that’s so bright but watch This i take that out and there’s no light tinted glass is a see through black but it doesn’t let light through so if i remove a piece of tinted glass i can see again and the light is there you can actually break it with your hand too which throws me off every single Time but look at this thing it doesn’t let light through but you can like see right through it my favorite use for tinted glass is definitely going to be see-through mob farms i mean look at that zombie down there it’s daytime middle of the day and i have a zombie in There it’s not burning up or anything like that i can see it i could make like a spawner farm with this thing a thing in the sky and you could like see into it and see if it’s working ah it’s so cool tinted glass is amazing that’s not all Though there’s another use for the amethyst shard so for this one you’re gonna need two copper ingots as well we’ll talk about those later but one amphitheatre two copper and gets a scraping table just like that and you get the spyglass a brand new tool now the spyglass is literally a Spyglass like you use it to zoom in look at things far away it’s pretty cool there are a couple new advancements tied to the spyglass 2. you’ll have to look at a parrot you’ll have to look at a ghast and you’ll have to look at the ender dragon with the Spyglass if you want the advancements it looks pretty cool in third person too ah but amethyst isn’t the only reason you would go to a geo there are actually a couple new blocks of the g02 the first one calcite i love calcite so much look at how clean it is it’s like Quartz but like a little bit busier it’s like diorite but like a million times better look at how good it is however no crafting recipes so if you want this stuff you need to find a geo smooth basalt is the other geo block smooth basalt is a whole lot easier to get though So this stuff looks so good like look at that texture it’s a really good looking texture smooth basalt can of course be found generating with geodes outer shell of the geode or you could actually smelt it all you’re gonna need is normal basalt a furnace and some fuel it’s literally Just like making smooth quartz or smooth sandstone or anything like that put the basalt in the furnace put some fuel in there give it a little bit of time and you’ll get the smooth version don’t sleep on this block it’s a good black it’s a really nice Building block it mixes super well with normal basalt too like check that out those textures blend so nicely definitely absolutely good building block if you follow the snapshots from the beginning though then you know smooth basalt wasn’t the original one tough used to generate as part of amethyst geodes it doesn’t anymore Though if you want to find tough you’re gonna have to go super deep in your world this stuff will generate in between y0 and y16 and small clusters kind of like granite or diorite or andesite but instead it’s tough it’s a nice looking building block maybe Good for our path oh but there is something so much better that you could find generating deep down in your world deep slate look at this stuff right here grimstone superiority you’ll also find the stuff generating in between y0 and y16 in bigger clusters a little bit more Commonly it’s a rotational block you can place in multiple directions so like up and down like that or side to side like that kind of like logs like look at this thing every single side of this block is amazing it’s it’s literally perfect so go down low in your world and you’ll Find the stuff generating now if i were to mine this with like a normal pickaxe or a fortune pickaxe i’m actually not gonna get the block i’m gonna get something else cobble deep slit so if i want this stuff i’m gonna need to use soap touch so i Use soap touch and then i take it over to a stone cutter put it in the stone cutter and it doesn’t go in the stone cutter nothing happens you can think of deepslide as deep stone it’s basically a new type of stone that generates deep in the world in 1.18 It’ll be everywhere below y zero if deep slate is deep stone then cobbled deep slate is deep cobblestone so when i broke that block of deep slate with a normal pickaxe i got this block right here so mine it with normal pickaxe you get cobbled deep sleep literally just like stone and cobblestone Then if i take this cobble deep plate over to a furnace put it inside of there i can smelt it up and turn it back into normal deep slate now cobble deep slate is a little bit different than deep slate uh first we have the texture difference and then Second we have the rotational thing so deep slate can be placed like that cobble deep slate only has one direction every single time it’s just gonna be placed down which is fine definitely because the texture is the same on every side anyways so you could definitely smelt this stuff Up turn it back into deep slate build with it that’s definitely a use but honestly it’s probably more useful not doing that so cobble deep slate has a wall version a stair version and a slab version you can make these in the crafting table or in the stone cutter Oh but there’s so much more there’s so much more cobble deepslate is the way to go so check this out four in the crafting table like that i get polished steep slate or you could do it in the stone cutter too polished steep slate is in here somewhere polished deep slate Look at it the space vibes this is like a spaceship block or something like that like this stuff is really really clean looking super industrial like steampunk space like it’s really really cool looking modern floor for sure and uh there’s a wall version a stair version and a slab version too Such a nice building block so good i think this would actually go really well with concrete too oh but come on come on you didn’t think it stopped there right so check this out i turn it into this then over here i turn this into that Right there or again i could just take the cobble deep slide here and like craft it right there that would work deep slate bricks look at these things they’re like a darker brick so we have stone brick we have deep slate brick and then we have black stone brick which by the way There were some black stone texture changes in this update but the gradient right here all gradient vibes is so good looking stone deep slate black zone i always thought blackstone would be so useful but deep slate grimstone oh this stuff is the the actual stone that we always wanted it’s gonna Be so good now again wall stair slab version and cracked one two if you want the cracked one all you have to do is put the bricks inside of the furnace melt it up and you’ll get the cracked bricks just like normal stone bricks but look at this stuff The shading the coloring is so good it’s not as dark as blackstone which makes us so much easier to work with it’s literally the blackstone we always wanted but it can’t stop there it couldn’t take the deep slate bricks put them in the crafting table again Or the stone cutter and you get deep slate tiles and with the stone cutter you could actually just go right from cobble deep slate to the deep slate tiles you don’t need to do all those steps and that’s such a good thing because this is the best version Of deep slate by far like look at it amazing on the floor great on the wall good on the ceiling good on the other wall every single situation deep sleigh tile all the way you got the wall you got the stair you got the slab and you got the crack tile too we’re Spoiled we’re literally spoiled the deep slave block family is huge and it’s all so good looking it gets good and then better and better and then finally the best like the tiles we need stone tiles now we need everything tiles this stuff is it’s perfect it’s literally amazing There is one more though and that’s going to be chiseled deep slate now this stuff is terrifying looking i think this is hinting at the warden or something it looks like a face or or something i’m not too sure but chisel the deep slate right there You can make it in the stone cutter right here stone cutter is amazing like look at this imagine having to go through all of those steps to get deep slate tiles no way that’s not good at all so yeah stone cutter is the way to go with a cobbled Deep slate normal deep slight doesn’t do anything it’s just a building block but cobble deepslide it does everything and the amazing block family like look at this stuff on the left we have deep slate uh moving in we have cobble deep slate polished deep slate deep slight stone bricks deep play tiles And then finally chisel deep slate it all kind of gets a little bit darker slowly so there’s like a gradient within the deep slate too and it just looks so good like this stuff is amazing it will probably work with basically everything in the game technically though when it comes to deep Slate that actually isn’t it there are even more deep slate blocks brand new deep slate or variants have been added to the game in 1.17 now you’re not going to find these things as commonly as you will in 1.18 when deep sleep gets way more common but You will be able to find these horse if an ore generates in a chunk of deep slate uh like really low in your world then instead of it being its normal stone version which by the way most of these awards look different here they all look so good now Uh but instead of being stoned it’ll be deep slidor deep slidor is literally the same thing it’s just re-textured so it doesn’t look weird and out of place and yeah the ore textures they’re completely different other than diamond diamond is the og one all of the other ones though they’re new Love the emerald one and actually i really like the gold one too deepside is amazing i love it so much but we have to move on next is drip sum so last week i dropped a video going over how to get everything in 1.17 in survival it’s a pretty useful Video i’ll leave a card to it on screen right now now drip so it might be a little bit trickier to get if you want to get the stuff you’re going to either need to find it somewhere or buy it somewhere once you have pointed drips on the thing we’re going To talk about next uh you could actually craft drip zone 2. drift zone is a pretty new looking block it’s uh an interesting texture the texture is the same on every side i could see this thing being useful for like a road or a path or something Maybe point to drips on though ah better drift zone so look at this stuff it’s so cool looking it’s like a pointy rock from the floor a pointy rock from the ceiling people have been asking for this stuff for like years so long now this stuff is Dangerous if i were to like land on this like fall on it or something check this out actually take damage and that’s something like a one block jump yeah so it’s sharp it’s dangerous if i were standing under it and i broke like the block that it’s hanging on or the stuff Itself then it’s gonna fall on me and i’m also going to take damage you can break it with your hand which is interesting you’ll actually get the item and if you have the item you place it down it’ll look like that and then if you put another one on it It’ll grow so these things could be infinitely tall or long as long as you have space you can just keep making it like really really tall or really really short doesn’t matter the really cool thing about this stuff though is the fact that it drips look closely so the water particles drip stone Uh point to drip zone actually drips so if we were to put a cauldron below the stuff give it enough time uh the drip stone would drip into the cauldron and actually fill up the cauldron which is insane like that’s unlike anything in minecraft it’s literally like a mod or something like It’s kind of crazy but it doesn’t stop there though no way minecraft 1.17 cauldron update look at this lava cauldron right here lava cauldrons are so cool so it’s actually lava if i were to like throw an item inside of it it’ll actually burn If i put wood next to it though it won’t actually burn so they’re like safe to put inside of your base it’s a real cauldron with lava inside of it you can take the lava out you can put the lava back in how do you get the lava in Well you could put it in there or you could generate it you can literally make a lava generator now so to do this you’re gonna need lava then you’re gonna need to block a drip zone then you’re gonna need a point to drip stone and then a cauldron somewhere below it Give it time this drip zone will actually drip lava slowly you’ll be able to see the particle when it happens again yep lava right there it’s gonna drip down into the cauldron and then there’s a chance for the cauldron to partially fill up once the cauldron is all the way filled Up you could actually pick up the lava and and use it it’s definitely real lava which is really insane like you can actually make lava now now it’s not like a quick process or anything it’s gonna take some time but this is like amazing like it’s insane i’m so impressed by This one like it’s just crazy when i said 1.7 he called an update though i meant it 1.17 cauldron update is real for sure so check this out this is a culture not with water and not lava or anything like that no no no instead it has powder snow so This is the brand new snowier snow block it’s powder snow if you break powder snow with your hand you get nothing if you stand inside of powder snow you’re going to freeze slowly this whole like cold gradient is going to come on your screen and then eventually if you stay inside Of this long enough your hearts change you’re frozen out and you’re going to take freezing damage it’s dangerous now powder snow is a trap block for sure check this out if i walk over this i’m gonna sink into it and once i sunk all the way down i’m stuck Now like i can’t like climb back out or anything i’m gonna have to like break the powder snow and mine my way out now to be honest you probably won’t see too much powder snow in 1.17 because the stuff doesn’t generate anywhere you’re gonna have to actually farm it by Placing cauldrons outside in the snow and just giving it time so you won’t see it too much right now but it is in the game in terms of the texture it’s pretty similar to snow so we have normal snow right here which is like smoother looking and then we have Powder snow right here which definitely looks like more powdery if you don’t want to fall into this stuff leather boots you wear some leather boots and you can walk right on top of it there’s actually an advancement for doing that and yeah you’re immune to falling into it Leather will also stop you from freezing if i stand in here for a long time i’m not going to freeze like i’m just standing in the powder snow the leather like keeps me warm i’m good really cool thing about powder snow if you put a skeleton inside a powder Snow and then give it a little bit of time doesn’t take that long you could actually make a stray converter farm and then when you take the story out you get actual real stray drops so like the arrow of slowness is actually kind of crazy so the skeleton It’s freezing right now it’s very cold come on buddy any second there you go there you go the skeleton converts over into a stray and yeah like i said it’s a real stray now so i can take it out and i will get the arrow of slowness 1.17 changes the look of most of the oars also adds a new or copper we’ll talk more about that in a second though but it makes a huge change to iron and gold ore so before this update if i mined this i would get the ore block it didn’t really make sense it Didn’t happen with any of the other oars after this update check this out if i mine iron i get raw iron if i mine gold i get raw gold and if i mine copper i get raw copper this actually makes sense now it’s so cool brand new raw ore items have been added To the game i hate the developers why would they do this they’ve ruined my favorite block in the game i can’t play anymore no no no you’re completely misunderstanding this makes perfect sense it’s like this for every other or why would it not be like this For this or two so if i use silk dutch i can still get those or blocks don’t worry it works for every ore type or the big one here if i use fortune on iron because of this change you can actually forge an iron now two pieces of iron from a single block This is amazing iron is so much easier to get now it’s gonna work with gold too but because of how fortune works it won’t happen every single time but it can happen which is so cool you can actually fortune this stuff terrible luck right now it’ll have there we go it’ll happen Eventually but look at it you could actually forge an iron now which is so nice now everything else is the same it all works exactly the same if you have the block you can still smelt that up if you wanted to but with the raw ore Items all you do is put them in a furnace put some fuel in there give it a little bit of time and they’ll smelt up into the ingot it’s literally the exact same process the only change here is the item that it drops and the fact that you can actually Fortune these things so iron and gold or don’t drop the block anymore unless you so touch them instead they drop raw versions of themselves it’s going to be the same for the deep slate ores this is what they all look like let’s say you’ve been money for like a Long time and you have like a ton of iron like four stacks of this stuff well uh now because we have these raw items we can compact them down into blocks and save so much space like look at that four stacks turn into two inventory slots right there So much better we have the bean block the other bean block and the salmon block these are the new raw ore blocks right here you can compact them down into the raw oars and you can uncompact them later at a crafting table or in your inventory Brand new ore copper or look at this stuff it looks so good so when you mine a block of copper ore you’re going to get two to three raw copper then you smelt it up in the furnace like we were just talking about with fortune 3 though you can get up to 12 pieces of raw copper from a single block of copper which is insane now copper should be pretty easy to find it’s going to generate anywhere in the overworld all the way at the bottom of the world near the top of your world so get the Get the raw copper ore throw it inside of a furnace give it a little bit of time and it’s going to smelt up into a brand new ingot the copper ingot that’s how you can actually use this stuff i know it’s just an ingot it basically raises the same Texture as iron and gold but copper color but it looks so good copper ingot coppering it is a crafting ingredient now there’s no such thing as copper tools or copper armor or anything like that instead copper is more of like a like a building block so if you have nine Copper ingots you put them in a grafting table like this you’ll get a block of copper copper is so interesting i’m sure you’ve heard by now but copper actually oxidizes like it ages over time so at first it’s gonna look like this like super clean Give it a little bit of time it’ll look like that even more time like that and then finally it ends up like this fully green it’s so cool now let’s say you had copper and you wanted to keep it at a certain stage like maybe i always want it to be perfect Well you’re gonna need honeycomb you need to wax the copper black so if i wax it like this it will always stay like that and there’s an advancement for it if i use an axe on it i take the wax off like that another advancement and then it can Age again so if i wanted this copper block right here what i would have to do is place this down wait a long time for it to turn into this and then wait even more time for it to turn into this then i would use the wax on it and it Would freeze it at this green state forever it’s a really weird sounding mechanic at first for sure because there’s nothing in the game like it but it’s so cool we have a block that actually changes on its own based off of how long it’s been in your world When you make a new world 1.17 the first thing that you should do go to the mines get nine copper and place a block down i’m pretty sure that having a bunch of these fully aged copper blocks is going to be kind of a flex it shows That your world is aged and you’ve been in the world for a while now maybe you like the idea of blocks aging but you don’t really like how that copper looks fine valid i disagree but valid if you put the copper block in a stone cotter like this you have some options So instead of having like stair and slab versions of this block we have caught copper and then a stair and a slab version now you can craft this in the crafting table too if you wanted to that’s the recipe right there i like the stone cutter though it’s easier Cut copper is the same thing as normal copper except it’s cut it has this little cross in the middle instead the block looks so good i love both versions of copper and the nice thing about cut copper there are stair versions and slab versions too and of course you can wax a Block and then like pick it back up and everything like that so with all of those wax versions on wax versions this is what we’re looking at a lot of blocks here this is just the cot ones too you would add in eight more for like the normal copper blocks but yeah So much copper well copper ingots can be used for two other things the spyglass which we already looked at and the lightning rod another craftable thing so this is the lighting rod right here uh if lightning hits the lightning rod it will actually give off a signal if You put a lightning rod on say like a wooden roof then lightning will be drawn to the lightning rod instead of the roof which means your roof doesn’t burn down anymore which is so amazing you just put a lightning rod on it and it basically keeps that area Safe now you could use a trident to like draw lightning over to the lightning rod when the lightning hits it gives off a signal like i said so you can use it to like light up lamps or things like that and you can place the lighting rod in any direction too upside down Sideways the other sideways is pretty cool because of the whole rotational placement thing the lightning rod is an amazing block for decorating and detailing things like you can make a weight thing you can make a candle holder you can make so much with the lighting rod hey wait does somebody say candles Yup candles for sure candles made it into the final 1.17 release if you’re on choppy edition if you’re on bedrock you’re gonna have to wait a little bit longer candles are pretty easy to craft you need a string and you need honeycomb so string farm honeycomb farm and then you’ll get one Candle it’s a one to one recipe now if you have a flint and seal and you place some candles down you can put up to four on one block like the sea pickle by the way but uh if you have a flint and steel use it on the candle and you can actually Light the candles now the texture is gonna be a little bit different here you can see the unlit ones are a little bit darker it makes sense and then the lit ones have this particle effect and everything it’s a candle it’s a literal candle and they give off light too obviously uh The more candles the brighter it’s gonna be candles so amazing those are the flame candles though let’s say you made a plain candle and you wanted it to be a color like maybe orange well then you would combine the candle with dye and it would get dyed there are 16 Different candle colors and then one uncolored candle so 17 candles total look at these candles right here you could definitely notice the texture difference between the lid candle and the unlick candle on some of these colored candles like way more obvious than those ones over there but like the candles like overall They’re so amazing we have so many different options too so like maybe you’re making an evil build then like the black candle or maybe like the red one all the way down here that could be cool orange candle yellow like there’s options here we have so many options It’s so cool i love all of these personally my favorite is probably gonna be the purple one really like this magenta one love the black one that’s so cool and then also the yellow one i actually just like the yellow candle a lot and candles can go in cakes because of Course they can place a cake down put a candle on it you can light the candle you cannot light the candle and it’s a cake with a candle in it look at this this beauty right here it’s a full grass block goodbye optifine full grass black i never liked you anyways The moss black 1.17 adds the moss black now the moss block is going to be way more common in 1.18 when the lush caves biome is actually in the game but moss block one of the coolest things about the moss block aside from like what it does when you bone mail it Is the fact that it’s always this bright green color in every single biome so like you’re in the swamp or the desert the grass is horrendous we’ll just use moss blocks instead you could put a bunch of moss blocks down and it’s a perfectly green field it’s amazing Moss layer moss layer is the moss carpet it’s literally just a thin layer of moss you can break it with your hand and pick it up you can put it back down now to get this stuff all you have to do is get the moss block and then bone meal the moss block It can actually grow on the moss block but like you just saw mausoleum wasn’t the only thing that grew on the moss block the azalea specifically the flowering azalea this time we got really lucky 1.17 adds two brand new types of saplings or bushes to the game We have the azalea bush and the flowering azalea bush they can go in pots they look amazing over there way smaller than the actual like place down version you can break them with your hand you can place them with your hand of course and they’re so cool looking now if i Were to bone meal this thing it will grow into an azalea tree complete with azalea leaves custom new leaves two types of them and azalea wood azalea would azalea would uh wait that’s oakwood azalea leaves our two brand new leaf types added to the game in this update we have the normal version And then we have the flowering one the flowering one is the one to be excited about for sure but the normal one does look pretty nice too the texture is a little bit different than oak leaves these leaf types both of them right here are going to make Amazing shrubs and then this one like flowering trees like a costume tree with all of these leaves oh amazing amazing i really like these two brand new leaf types i kind of feel like there’s something missing with the azalea tree though can’t quite put my uh finger on it though i’m I’m not too sure well moving on from that disappointment we have this cool stuff right here the best vine looking vine in the entire game and it’s climbable to walk up to it hold down space and you can climb it this stuff is known as cave vines another thing growing on it glowberries The glowberry is a brand new type of food added to the game in 1.17 it’s basically a new sweet berry it refills the same amount of hunger as the sweet berry the fox can eat it the fox can harvest it pretty cool if you bone meal the cave vine you get The glowberry it’s pretty cool they call it glowberry for a reason too look it it’s glowing and this one down here because it’s so close to the ground it’s lighting up the ground like a crazy amount right here like look at this light level 14 that’s pretty crazy that’s not the only Glowing stuff in 1.17 though no way not a chance that would be pretty lame actually so lichen glow like it is another new plant coming to the game came to the game 1.17 so glow-like and if you want this stuff you’re going to have to find it in the cave system If you break it with your hand you will not get it so don’t do that instead if you want to pick it up you’re going to use shears on glow-liking to pick it up then you can bring it back to your base you can put It on the bottom of a block the side the top any face of a block will work and then if you use bone meal on it it’ll spread it’s sad that the biomes aren’t coming in this update because the lush caves biome is so filled out like there are so many Things in the launch caves bottom including this thing right here small drip leaf small drip leaf is going to be pretty hard to get your hands on this update but you can do it in survival so it can be placed on land if it’s on moss block or clay block Nothing else so like dirt it’s not going to work if it’s in the water you have a couple more options you have moss you have clay you have a pod so you have farmland actually which is interesting or you have dirt so uh if you want the small drip leaf Don’t break it with your hand if you break it with your hand you don’t get it it just goes away just like with glow lichen you’re gonna need to use the shear to actually get this thing and then yeah once you get it you can place it back down under the water on Those blocks that we mentioned or you can place it on the land on those other blocks that we mentioned and it’s amazing looking it looks so good for detailing the only uh thing that i think this thing needs is a potted version like imagine a small version of this thing it Already looks so good but then you put it in a flower pot oh it would look amazing so hopefully in 1.18 get your hands on the small drip leaf though and then get some bone meal and bone meal it and you’ll get the big drip leaf so the Big drip leaf is the really cool looking one you can break this up with your hand big drip leaf can also be placed on like almost anything if you place one down and you want it taller you could either bone meal it or you could put more big drip Leaf on top of it and then when you break it you will always get one drip leaf for like sections so we have like one two i will get two every single time now if i stand on this and and just wait it’s actually gonna fall through like the stuff Like kind of caves in under the weight of the player which is so cool looking it’ll pop back up on its own eventually so you could use it for like parkour or something you’ll have to be quick don’t stand on it for long or you fall unless You give it a redstone signal if you power this stuff it will never break yes that’s right power the plant and somehow it stops it from falling i have no clue okay dirt slabs they’re coming to the game in 1.17 just kidding it’s a new type of dirt rooted dirt It fits in pretty well with the other types of dirt it’s going to be pretty hard to get though it is possible though hanging roots look at that it’s roots literally hanging they’re in 1.17 just kind of a decorational thing if you want them break them with cheers let’s talk about The 1.17 mobs there are three of them the first mob is the goat look at the goats so there are three types of goats in the game screaming goat baby goat normal goat the screaming goat and the normal goat will look identical there’s no way to tell Them apart you’re gonna have to just listen to their screams and if it’s screaming then it’s a screaming goat now the goat spawns in the mountain bomb and drops nothing currently like no goat horn or anything that’s gonna be a 1.18 thing so i just don’t take them out they drop Like a tiny bit of experience it’s not worth it goats will actually randomly charge mobs just like for fun they can also jump and you can milk them with a bucket you can breed goats with wheat now goats are actually pretty difficult to contain because they just jump like that one right there Just jumps right out of the pan not a problem at all i think they can jump up to like 10 blocks in the air so if you’re making like a goat farm or like a goat pen or something put it inside of a building or something Because it’s just gonna get out of like literally everything and just do whatever it wants and then maybe are you gonna do the charge it doesn’t seem like this thing wants to do the charge thing right now but it can it deals like a little bit of damage knocks you back The screaming goats charge a little bit more axolotl axolotl axolotls have been added to the game in 1.17 and they’re amazing they’re great they’re they’re the best so the axolotl likes the bucket of tropical fish if i hold it let’s get a look at it and say hey i Want that you can actually pick the axle level up with a bucket of water right there you get an advancement for it and you can put it like back down into the water or technically if you wanted to you could actually put it on the land so the axolotl Isn’t meant to be on the land but it can survive on the land for five minutes axolotl will attack basically every single water mob a small fish yep uh the axolotl will clean that fish up really really quickly the drowned um if i can spawn one in it will definitely Attack the drone too axolotl will play dead if their health is low that’s what those who are doing right there they just lay around and they actually regen their health so uh once they’re back up to like good health they’ll start swimming around again it’s so cool here’s some more axolotl information They also won’t attack dolphins or turtles so don’t worry there are a couple advancements also tied to the axolotl which is pretty cool hands down ruler of the sea best mob in the entire update not even close not even like a question like axolotl is so amazing like Just best thing ever to be added to the game they’re literally perfect oh yeah and if you thought like the fully grown axolotl was adorable like look at this so here you go and there you go uh they’re gonna go ahead and breed and then you get a baby axolotl which is like 3 000 even more adorable didn’t even think it was possible it’s like tiny it’s like a literal like just tiny axle model it’s so perfect the glow squid it doesn’t actually glow but i have to be honest it’s not as bad as i actually thought like the glow Squid isn’t bad at all they dropped glowing sacks which are pretty cool you can use them for a couple cool things that we’re going to talk about next honestly i mean there’s not too much to them it’s just a new version of the squid but i never thought i would say this but I i really can’t complain the glowing sack definitely makes up for it is so cool it can do a couple useful things i can’t complain maybe the glow squid is okay maybe still doesn’t glow though glowing sack though i keep talking about it this is what it looks like right here it looks Just like a normal ink sac but it’s a glowing sack you get it from taking out the glow squid the first thing that you can do with a glowing sack is combine it in a crafting table to get the glow frame so on a wall this is what it looks like Normal frame glow frame uh with an item in it this is what it looks like and then with a map in it this is what it looks like now in the day you might be saying what’s the point which i i wouldn’t blame you the texture Is pretty much the same but at night time you definitely to the point so glow item frame obviously it glows it fully keeps whatever is inside of it lit up so this diamond it’s a super bright diamond whereas this one it’s dark and the map oh so useful fully illuminated map no Need to put like a light block behind it or anything like that i mean you still could do that but look at it it’s so bright oh boy oh boy but honestly i mean i like the glow frame it’s really cool but i like this one way more so with the Glowing sack if i take this thing and i use the glowing sack on the signs here look at what happens the signs actually get converted you can read the sign so much better they look amazing like they’re so good glow signs are so amazing and watch this at night time the signs Actually glow too like the the text on them is fully lit up it’s like a neon sign like literally and you can read them so amazingly uh the glowing sack is such a good addition i never i literally never thought i would say it but the glow squid i actually don’t mind It at all like this is worth it for sure it’s so cool and i mean i don’t even use science i mean i guess i kind of use signs a lot but i’m not like on a server or anything i just play single player but i still am so excited about This like why am i so excited it’s just a sign with like good text but you can read it it works so good try it out on all the other signs too like the dark oak you can actually write on dark oak signs now it’s kind of crazy so uh good news That’s all the features and survival for the most part other than the changes that we’ll talk about in a little bit uh bad news there are some features that you actually can’t get in survival uh minecraft these next four things are completely survival off limits right now they’ll be in the game and Survival in 1.18 first the sport blossom it’s so cool it’s a flower that goes on the ceiling puts these particles out and is impossible to get big set the skulk sensor it’s insane it’s a brand new redstone component going to completely revolutionize like doors and give you so many options uh with redstone In 1.18 wool occlusion uh signal sorting redstone signals in general motion tracking it’s so cool the bundle the sweet sweet bundle the bundle is used for storing items maybe you have like a bunch of random things like all of these flowers well i could compact them all down into One spot with the help of the bundle the bundle can carry one stacks worth of items so that could mean something like that with like a bunch of items or i could throw all those things out of there it could mean one stack that’s a stack of ender pearls or it Could mean one stack that’s a stack of emeralds probably not a good way to use a bundle though or one thing like a sword technically speaking that’s a full stack of nether red sword bundle is so amazing it’s really cool great for compacting down stuff especially when exploring early game But there’s no crafting recipe which means no survival it’s not even in the creative inventory too like the skull sensor you’re gonna have to use the give command if you want these speaking of the give command if i give wattles the light i get a light this feature is so amazing But it’s creative mode only so middle of the night pitch black place the light block down there’s nothing there but there is actually light and i can scroll through the light level with uh with the light item so i can make it like dimmer brighter whatever i want and it’s so Cool but survival off limits creative builders only so unfortunately those four things the bundle the skull sensor the spore blossom and the light block are survival of limits to wrap things up today we’re going to talk about some smaller additions and changes to features that were already in the game Minecraft 1.17 adds two brand new game rules game real freeze damage is a true or false value if you put it to false you will never take freeze damage game rule players leaving percentage oh that’s a huge one so this is uh based off of numbers So let’s say i put uh 100 then that would mean that 100 of the players in the world on the server would need to sleep if i set this value at 50 and there were like four people on the server then only two of those people would need To sleep to roll it over to date time if i put it in the negatives like um i don’t know negative 400 and five it doesn’t matter uh then only one person needs to sleep on the server no matter how many people are on there could be like 20 people And only one person needs to sleep if i want some kind of challenge and i put it to like 200 200 percent of the people would need to sleep which is impossible anything over 100 will make it so you can never skip the night time in single player not very useful but on A server amazing such a nice game rule we all love dirt paths i use them all over the jungle bases so nice uh check this out shovel shovel shovel shovel it works on everything including blocks that are not grass now dirt coarser pod saw mycelium yep you can make a path The rails the mine carts they can both go in the water now mine carts flow underwater a little bit more slowly rails work underwater just like they normally would but underwater water also won’t break rails anymore there have been quite a few texture changes in 1.17 that we’ve talked about today Including black stone including the oars here are two more the clock and the compass sugarcane was also changed too why hasn’t this been in the crafting table for so long like seriously like look at this this right here in the recipe book we have the firework rocket now it’s always Only going to be flight duration one just the basic one but it’s better than nothing like look at it it’s in the crashing table now and it works this is an interesting one uh definitely way more of a like a technical thing like if you play on like Sidecraft or something like that you’re gonna be making like a farm out of this but uh shulkers shockers can now actually like breed in a way they can duplicate so uh the conditions are pretty strange these are some of the conditions not all of them but The shocker’s gonna have to be open it’s gonna have to be a less than half health uh is gonna have to have room to teleport to like make a new shulker and then there has to be less than five shulkers nearby the more shelters that are nearby The lower um like percentage chance of this thing actually working it has something like that oh yeah and most importantly one shelter has hit another shulker with a sheltered bullet and then all those conditions it’s some pretty advanced technical stuff but if you’re an advanced technical player you’re probably pretty excited about it Before 1.17 drowned had a chance to drop gold it wasn’t common but they could in 1.17 that’s gone instead gold has been replaced with copper it’s still not going to be very common but it’s definitely possible sometimes if you’re lucky you will get a copper ingot from taking out a drone Having looting is definitely going to help your odds here but as you can see it’s definitely not a common thing it’s like a drowned copper farm possible but probably not the best way to get copper the copper is so easy to find so just go mining but hey look at it it Worked all of these mobs dropped the coked version of whatever food item they drop when you take them out with fires so the guardian is gonna be cooked cod same with the elder guardian zombie husk zombie villager they can actually drop to baked potatoes now and then the polar bear i think it’s Cooked cod pretty sure that drops that trader trades the wandering scammer the trader has some new trades these are the trades right here not worth it but a must unfortunately for some of these things it is the only way hey oh this village has been through Some stuff oh no the prices are back to normal okay good good good so this trade right here you won’t always have this trade here but a mason journeyman villager could sell you drifts on block snow where are my redstone gamers at uh you are probably happy now look these Are in the redstone tab now and the tab has been reorganized based off of prioritization you use these a lot they’re at the top uh these are just random doors and stuff you probably don’t use them as much they’re at the bottom going back into the menu if we wanted to Create a single biome world we have two brand new options the lush caves biome option is going to be in here right there and the drift zone cave is also a new option it’s going to be right there these worlds aren’t exactly like survival friendly it’s not a very good World for like a survival experience however you could get a taste of the new biomes if you were to make this world go under the ground and you’ll be able to find either the drip zone caves or the lush caves generating in the 1.7 caves remember in 1.18 the caves are being completely Changed though so this isn’t really like the final version of these biomes the menu the the panorama the spinning yep completely different check this out this is number 64 bug fixes and technical changes there have been a lot now i highly recommend sliced limes videos for technical changes slicedlime is actually one of the developers he also makes videos so snapshot videos will do but slice slime all the way minecraft 1.17 uh caves and cliffs update part one the smaller Caves and cliffs update with 124 individual separate items amethyst copper raw oars all of those new lush blocks what do you think which block is your favorite it’s not hard for me i can narrow it down to like three favorites here uh the deep slate block set those things Are amazing if i had to pick one deep slate tiles for sure i love the copper that’s really really cool and amethyst with the whole music and noise thing like emma this is so cool like amazing those are my top
