FAST TRAVEL + NETHER PORTAL LINKING! | The Minecraft Guide – Tutorial Lets Play (Ep. 19)

Hey hey there everybody how you doing it’s me your boy 24 7 chill hop radio here welcome back to the minecraft guide episode number 19. so our last episode went well i have full nether you’re going to want to go down below the video right now

Yeah you’re going to want to go down there and hit that like button i’m not going to do anything i promise but go down below the video and hit that like button thank you very much you won’t regret it i promise so this is going to be a little weird but i swear

It’s the truth this is how it happened so i was planning on taking on the dragon in this episode but then something was telling me no like don’t do the dragon quiet there’s something that you’re forgetting but i couldn’t figure out what it was i went to bed

Last night and then today i woke up with a realization we never linked the stronghold up in the nethers so basically we don’t have like a quick efficient easy way to get there today that’s the plan in today’s video we’re gonna do a little bit of exploring a little bit of looting

Sorry village and then we’re gonna link the strong hold up in the nether to our starter base should be pretty easy so uh first things first a banner market on the map this is the town where we got our cats from i actually got the cats in that episode

And then i just dipped i love the town i didn’t check out the loot here so that’s where we’re gonna start what kind of loot do we have in this town for me hopefully something good something cool that i definitely could use lots of villagers here which is pretty cool

If i ever need villagers i know where to go but i also already knew where to go the tiger villagers look a little cooler sorry plains villagers but i gotta say i do like the yellow beds in here the yellow beds are really really cool what is this did you literally

You literally built your house on top of okay that is rude that is very very rude villager whoever built on top of the other and you built in the one okay that’s great and i can’t even get the loot come on oh that’s a lot of apples i actually like

The apples we could definitely use those we can make golden apples with those uh the bread though potatoes come on come on don’t you know i’m already like mid game here come on i got full nether right you think i want a potato villager you can have your potatoes i was just thinking

What if i found another minecraft cat that would literally be crazy i would be upset well then again i have like five fish here uh i would be upset though because i don’t really have enough fish to tame the cat uh now one thing that i would loot uh

Right off the bat is the bell but i’m actually gonna leave the bell here eventually i’d like to take on a raid and when i take on a raid i want to have like a village available that has everything like the bell the villagers you know like literally everything so yeah the

Bell is going to stay here the rest of this town basically wait maybe not maybe not leatherworker you have leather that does not surprise me this town is garbage i am leaving this town this town is now crowned um stinkville we’re gonna go ahead and leave it i’m done with it

So remember earlier on when i said that i wanted to fill this map and before i moved yeah well when i said that i didn’t realize that i could potentially possibly probably maybe they end up actually living on this map still i had no clue that a jungle biome would

Be so close to where we started from so with that being said i i do want to build a mapping still but it’s not as high of a priority because we’re going to be on the map and if i’m on the map if i’m near the map even

Then i’m more likely to just go and fill it in at some point but uh kind of going back on what i just said we might build it in today guys maybe i don’t know depending on how i feel depends on how long all this portal linking stuff takes

Now i need to get over to the new base which means the jungle which means i need to head straight south from here and actually hit the bottom of the map then come back up a little bit i’ll catch you guys once i’m over at house 2.0 ah beautiful home

What is that i didn’t do that um why is this tree missing something right here it is missing right yeah yeah it’s missing um wait okay okay yeah that’s weird but a home sweet home is what i was gonna say the jungle it’s beautiful look at it all of the

Green trees the amazing green grass in this biome oh my gosh i can’t wait to build here now uh yes i do realize that technically i have built in a jungle before if you know you know but i don’t count that i i just don’t i i realistically yeah i just don’t count

It i’ve never built in a jungle before okay okay good glad that’s been settled so this is going to be the new base for sure definitely we’re going to build it here but i actually have to tell you guys the truth uh earlier on in the series i had a

Solid theme in mind i knew exactly what i wanted to build in this world how i wanted to build it uh where i wanted to build it you know this biome or dark oak forest but nowadays i’m actually a lot more uncertain i have a couple cool themes in mind

Actually too to be specific but i can’t decide do i want to go that way or do i want to go this way so you know should i go that way or this way let me know down in the comments please thank you i i would tell you the

Themes to help you guys out and you know um yeah if you guys know what you’re actually choosing but there’s a problem if i tell you the build themes that i’m thinking about and then i scrap them because i actually just changed my mind i don’t really want to do them then uh

Yeah that gets a little bit awkward right you know i have you guys choose and then i say yep plot twist nope we’re not building that um yeah i i just can’t decide but it’s no big deal what we’re going to probably do is move here

Start the base just go go for it you know start working on the base and then we’ll decide later on now back that way lukewarm motion lukewarm motion is beautiful i’m keeping my eyes out while filling in this map here for a better building spot and if

There’s not then we’re going to build by the lukewarm motion but don’t get me wrong the lukewarm ocean isn’t a bad building spot at all the water is beautiful just know that this is going to be where the new base will be we’re going to have

Wood for days and don’t worry yes i will replant the trees maybe uh yeah we’re gonna have wood for days it’s gonna be crazy we’re gonna probably try and incorporate jungle wood into our builds maybe in some way i don’t know jungle wood is kind of tricky to work with sometimes

And then definitely some of the new nether blocks for sure i definitely would love to use like blackstone in my build palette whatever like style or theme i do yeah blackstone it’s the stuff is sweet and i found a bunch of it when mining for ancient debris anyways so

Yeah you know i know where to go and dig it up and then maybe we could find like a basalt delta’s biome near here too that would be pretty sweet but uh anyways what i’m gonna do is i’m gonna go ahead and continue filling in this map

Get a little back more like north i don’t want to put the portal down here then we’re going to put the portal in and talk about linking portals vine so oh my gosh so much of mines vines for literally days here this is this is amazing this is what heaven looks like

I can’t believe i’ve died that’s crazy wow vines so much vines vines i love you you’re great wow you know what how am i just realizing this i literally didn’t think about it until now but pandas we’re gonna live in the jungle and there’s like bamboo growing over here

And maybe big maybe uh the jungle looks massive so maybe there’s like a bamboo jungle near here too oh and we could actually have pandas this time oh my gosh that would be literally the sweetest thing in the world that would be really really cool maybe maybe if we’re really lucky we’ll

Get to like do something with pandas this time that would be sweet like maybe we get like a sick panda and it’s like a slime ball farm or something i know it’s not the best slime farm in the world i know i know i already know that but

Yeah yeah maybe that would be like really really cool whoa hold on hold on hold on hold on i almost feel like this mountain right here might have potential oh this is sweet this is sweet okay you can’t lie don’t lie wow whoa okay

Hold on hold on we need to get the view oh yes look at this hill that’s a sweet hill how it goes like up over this little lake in here wow and then maybe if i’m lucky it almost looks like it on the map it’s kind of hard to tell

Does this connect back up to the ocean it might it looks like it i don’t know hard to tell okay wow look at that imagine that for a backdrop like we have stuff over there and then we do like buildings over in here it’s a little farther into the jungle than i had

Expected that i had planned on but wow okay maybe we just found our base location not 100 set on it i might just put the portal out by the uh well you know what i don’t know i can’t decide maybe we just put the portal here for now and

Then i can move it like if i end up not wanting to build here this is sweet looking oh and there’s a parrot there’s literally a parrot right there there is literally a parrot i don’t have any seeds i can’t get it right now i could run around and punch grass but

That’s like a side track okay you know what we’re gonna actually drop the portal in right over here we’re just gonna go ahead and put the portal in maybe like a little up in the air kind of like on top of leaves is not the most sensible thing

In the world but it’ll work right it works so another portal linking when it comes to traveling in minecraft you’ve got a lot of options of course good old-fashioned feet you could walk you could run you could jump you could also swim you could also use a

Boat or a horse or something like that but have you considered nether travel if you haven’t ever you definitely should because it is efficient one block and the nether translates to eight blocks in the over world yup that’s right traveling in the nether is literally eight times faster

Than traveling in the oval world now usually you’re going to want to travel in the nether over long distances so uh our starter base is all the way up at the top of this map i could totally like go back to the ocean and sail all the way there but

That would take a long time uh alternatively i could go ahead and go into the nether just like this we move in and then i could make a tunnel system like a hallway over to the other nether portal and then boom i’d be there in like no time

Okay this is dangerous this is dangerous for sure a little too close to the lava for my liking but we’re in the nether now crimson forest right there that’s cool what else do we have got to be careful i don’t have a gold armor looks like uh

Probably a soul sand valley because of the fossil um in other ways my favorite biome in the world yep okay so not the most interesting location but what we’re going to want to do really quick here is make a bunch of ladders and i also got some jungle logs that’s cool but we’re

Going to use them to make ladders anyways we want to make a bunch of ladders really quick 49 maybe hopefully that’ll do what we want to do is get up into the ceiling of the nether so uh when we were in the nether before like when we came here for the first

Time what we did is we actually moved another portal up into the ceiling right away why do we do that well uh it’s a whole lot safer and it’s a whole lot easier to make hallways like a nether hub system something that i definitely want to do eventually in this world probably

Honestly we’ll probably break around on it pretty soon now but uh anyways what i want to do first is relocate this nether portal straight up into the ceiling i’m going to go ahead and build a tall like pillar of blocks with cobblestone put ladders on it hopefully gas don’t

Spawn behind me and shoot at me that would be annoying and hopefully piglens don’t walk over here and realize what i’m doing in the nether with my precious netherrite armor on no gold armor okay yep i hear them already i don’t know where they are uh oh they’re literally on that ledge

Okay this is gonna be interesting this is going to be interesting what we’re gonna need to do is climb up to where i can see them probably and then try and take them out uh can i see you guys right here no i can’t but i can hear you you’re

Very close i know it definitely sounds like we have a crossbow guy too definitely so um piglets yup you you you gotta go away you gotta go you two uh what are you um yeah you have a sword no you had a crossbow you have a crossbow too

Yeah you’re all gonna go away don’t even don’t even mess with me i’ve got walter uh yeah by the way i see a lot of confusion about it my name’s not walter just just uh coincidentally close to wattles i’m not named walter okay haha finally the ceiling okay now i can

Actually mine in piece how much farther oh only ten more blocks okay that’s crazy that’s crazy i can do that easy yeah i could do that in my sleep no more piglets too yeah all right so here we are all the way up at y 118

Now we’re going to want to dig a small room this room doesn’t have to be very big we’ll probably change it later then we’re going to go back down and actually take our nether portal out and relocated up here i want my nether portals to all

Be up high in the ceiling of the nether safe now i don’t know if i’m going to end up putting my nether hub at y118 and that’s okay what i could do is adjust things upwards or downwards later whenever i’m you know actually working on the nether hub

Now when relocating nether portals i i mentioned it earlier on when we did the first nether portal but you don’t want to move things too far especially if you have a lot of other nether portals in an area if i were to relocate this nether portal up to the ceiling and then maybe

You know i already had another nether portal over there and i moved this one just too far then the portal linking could be broken so long story short when relocating portals in the nether you need to keep them close to where they’re actually supposed to be where are they supposed to be

Well we’ll talk about that in a second all right so i took the nether portal down now i’ve rebuilt it let’s go ahead and light the portal and go through it just to make sure that everything linked up properly which it did but it’s night time okay okay okay no

Big deal we’ll go ahead and sleep really quick because we need to take a look at the coordinates where is another portal meant to be well to figure that out easy check out your coordinates in the overworld so 889-666-1658 then take those coordinates and divide them by eight

But not the y one you can ignore the y-coordinate 889 and 1658 both divided by eight equals 111 and 207 if we go into the nether that’s where we would want to put our nether portal to have that portal lead to the jungle biome in the

Overworld so if we go ahead and check our coordinates right now we are approximately at those coordinates which is perfect now we have a nether portal in the jungle and in the nether we need to link this portal up to our original portal which means we need to go

All the way back to 23 0 so which way is 23 23 is gonna be uh this way so that weighs 23 and then zero is that way okay so here’s what we’re gonna do we’re gonna actually go to zero first so we’ll go this way that’s the long way then we’ll

Just turn all the way up to 23. that should probably work i’ve said it before and i’ll probably say it again but when digging tunnels in the nether always have blocks on your offhand why well simple if lava were to start pouring out well boom place the block

Down block the lava off then i can go ahead and get rid of the lava all the way if the blocks aren’t on your off hand you’re gonna have to scroll over to them which isn’t that big of a deal as long as they’re on your hot part but still

It’s faster if you can just place it down instantly yeah it’s just safer now you should also i always uh like i mentioned before stand it back don’t stand right against the blocks and dig them out there could be a hole in the floor like uh that unfortunately while i was

Really hoping that wouldn’t happen that’s a drop okay that’s terrifying i hate drops yep that’s that’s great yup okay uh well we’re gonna need to build a bridge here yeah just stand back just in case it’s because of lava and drops drops bad lava very bad too oh and usually typically

You would want to bring lots and lots of cobblestone to build bridges with two i didn’t do that so we’re gonna have to build bridges out of netherrack which works but i hate building bridges out of another act because it breaks way too easily oh yeah here we are home sweet home now

I came out right by the ladder but it’s fine it’s fine we’re linked up that’s perfect all right so that’s awesome so this tunnel goes all the way to the new base i don’t know how i’m gonna signify that maybe we’ll do like a torch right there and then this one

Goes over to that nether fortress that we found we’re definitely gonna want to try and find a different nether fortress moreover near where we actually live now or i should say where we’re actually going to live so if i were to go through this portal right here

I’d be back in the overworld at my original starter base which is cool but that’s not what i want to do now we need to make another nether portal over at the stronghold so to do that we’re going to need two things first we’re going to need the stronghold coordinates in the overworld

Which are these things right there negative 890 27 1096. those are the coordinates from the screenshot that i took near that portal room then we’re going to need to divide those numbers by 8 to get the nether coordinates so divide them by 8 and boom we have this right here 111 27

137 and negative 111. so basically now we need to dig a tunnel all the way to negative 111 137 now i think uh if i backtrack this way well then again this is gonna go i can get to 137 off of this hallway which i think i want to do

I definitely want to think about how our new nether hub will be centered around the new one the one that we just added in way down there you know by the jungle so i think what i do is i backtrack to 137 then i dig all the way to negative 111 from here

It’ll be a longer tunnel but in the long run it’ll probably make more sense i wouldn’t really want to have to go all the way over to my original starter hub and then backtrack over to the stronghold you know probably wouldn’t make very much sense anyways we’re here and of course

Coincidentally we’re over the nightmare bridge so we’re just going to double up on the netherrag right there just in case and then new tunnel right here over to the stronghold all the way to negative 111 this is going to be a long tunnel about 200 blocks along oh another one that’s amazing thanks

Minecraft i love it i i love these long big gaps and drops yep they’re my favorite thing in the world how did you know about that yeah how’d you know all right why 111 is right here now i’m in the middle of a soul sand valley biome and there are

A lot of drops around here so i definitely have to be careful i think what i’m going to do is i’m just going to throw the portal in this room right here and then we’ll definitely have to prioritize another room because this is like really dangerous we could have like

A gas spawn up here and then like shoot at the floor and yep would be a gigantic huge terrible nightmare but we’re not gonna think about it we’re not gonna worry about it today so let’s go ahead and put the nether portal i don’t know let’s put it over

Here it feels a little bit safer over here now we’re currently really really high up in the nether when we go back over to the overworld we actually might be like midair which is gonna be weird we’re gonna have to break the nether portal that is probably

Going to be floating really high up in the air and then go down into the stronghold and then we’ll have to rebuild the portal down in the stronghold but let’s go maybe that won’t happen if we’re really lucky that won’t happen but i think it’s gonna happen

Where are we we are oh no we’re lucky we’re lucky we’re lucky okay sweet well we’re gonna sleep really quick hopefully nothing binds me no felipe please nothing please nothing please nothing okay nothing found me okay good so let’s see we have definitely the tiger bomb yep this is familiar okay looks

Good there’s a skeleton over there nice we need to figure out where we are where is the portal am i at the right spot i’ve got to be the right spot right oh yeah i’m at the right spot i’m just a little bit off okay negative 890 which

Is right here perfect perfect we have a skeleton in the way though i think we need to go over this way sheep get out of the way okay good good good good good good right here 10 96 okay so we should be able to dig straight down here and land right by the

Portal room a little bit of a dangerous call here but that’s what we’re gonna do it’s going to be direct fast quick and easy i like all of those things so let’s go portal room show me where you’re at any minute now let’s go any minute cold thank you for

The coal i appreciate you any minute though boom here we are right by the portal room that is literally perfect okay so let’s think about this let’s go ahead and put the nether portal i mean you know what we could go well do i have enough oh i have way more than

Enough you know we’re gonna put the nether portal right here and we’re gonna make it a three by three one that’s gonna be sweet but attack of the silverfish because of course there would be attack of the silverfish get out of here garbage get out of here

All right remember elites never skip the corners the silverfish are also swarming me it’s getting really really annoying so you know what we’re gonna do light that right there we’ll drop a crafting table right there and then we are just gonna bail we’re gonna get out

Of here because there’s no need to be here time to go back into the nether and then uh hopefully we’re gonna be in the ceiling are we gonna be in the ceiling uh we’re in the ceiling okay perfect now it’s time to go back to the starter base

I’ll meet you guys there we’re back which means it’s time for the comment of the day today’s comment of the day is all about villagers you should start making a village trade center at the jungle because you were making your actual house there yes uh definitely 100 i’m sort of thinking about

Maybe depending on what i end up doing with the base but basically putting villagers all around it like we build a sugar cane farm well then i put a cartographer villager right there so that i can just take the sugarcane sell it to the cartographer you know

That type of thing i feel like that would be really really efficient and also convenient but i’m also kind of considering like an official big trading hall too i just basically can’t decide quite yet now there is one more thing or a couple more things actually that i’d like to do

In this episode so we need red dye i’d like to make a banner here and then actually mark the starter base on the banner but the banner should be red also i’d like to take the name tags that i have and officially name the cats the cats are sitting

Outside without names which is a little bit of a problem all right so first things first the starter house we’ll go ahead and put the banner hmm where can we hide it uh we can put the banner maybe like there it doesn’t really necessarily make sense

Though you know what you know what no no no we’re gonna hide the banner a little bit better we’ll go ahead and put the banner underneath this floor if i put the banner down here i won’t ever see it which is probably a good thing oh i need the map okay okay

Boom marked on the map perfect oh great there’s a lead salesman here okay okay well we’ll have to investigate that really quick uh hold on caps you have to wait one more second lead salesman where are you i would like to buy the leads leads please
