Hey guys it’s James here and I’m joined with jaylen from Jay ray games and we are very excited today to tell you that we have a solution for how to connect one of these PlayStation VR s to your computer and allow you to play Minecraft VR which is pretty awesome again I think When we first got psvr we were both hoping that minecraft wood would get the VR update it hasn’t yet but this is an excellent alternative until it does come out alright so I’m going to show you how to do this um to be honest it’s not that Difficult take maybe 15 minutes tops and then it’s good to go and I’m going to start by running trynna s– psvr it’s a small app it costs about 10 bucks I’m not sure what the limitations of the non-registered version are but basically what it does is it allows you to link up Your psvr to your computer alright and I’m going to just start it by clicking the start button I’m going to click start you can take a second for it to calibrate we’re going to wait for that to happen okay it’s calibrated and you’ll see now That the lights are on on my PS VR and I don’t think you can see in there probably not showing in those eyes is desktop basically it’s just mirroring the desktop and the way this trying this program works is basically it just creates an extended display for your Psvr and splits the image so that you have a separate image one per eye and allows you to see it as a stereoscopic image alright so it’s pretty awesome program um also what it lets you do is it allows you to access the entire Steam VR store and allows you to play those Games through the headset but there is a imitation that the HTC vive and the oculus rift each have their own controllers and that is not supported in most cases with the games there are some apps and mods out there like PS Move controller and you can look for Tutorials on how to do that I’ll probably have one as well but it’s still not super easy so the way that we’re going to be playing minecraft VR is with the keyboard and mouse the traditional way of playing it right the way that everybody’s pretty much comfortable with It already and it works fantastic so without further ado let’s take a look how we do it what you’re going to be looking for is a mod for Minecraft called vive Kraft so I’m just going to jump on the site here this is what it looks like It may change by the time you go to follow these steps but vive Kraft was a mod made for the HTC vive and it allowed you to use your headset within minecraft so basically what we’re doing is we’re kind of hacking vive craft to work with our psvr And you’re going to notice that it works for versions 1 point 1 1 and 1 point 7 1 1 sorry 1 point 7 1 oh and there’s a forge as well so you can all your forge mods and your shaders and all that good stuff will Work just fine alright so we’re going to download the Installer I’ve got one point 1 1 and it’s very important that you run minecraft at least once to set up all of your folders and then it’s going to just work magically so once it downloads you’re going to see the 5 Craft installer you’re going to double click that and you’re going to see that it’s going to put it into the minecraft folder you want to have this create launcher profile and you also want to create a checkoff for the first time an able by Nouriel audio ok you need to do It at least once or you should anyways it was recommended right I’m not going to do that because I’ve already this up but once we launch the minecraft Launcher you will now see a new profile in your minecraft Launcher called five craft 1.1 1.2 1.1 1.2 and that’s the VR Mod for minecraft we’re going to click play and when we do this you’ll notice that it takes over into steam VR steam VR is going to take the incoming input and it’s going to split it for the PS VR and right now what you’re seeing here is A stereoscopic image of what we see in the headset so if I pick up my headset here and I move it around you’ll see that it follows the motion perfectly now the weird thing is we are right now we are backwards alright the menu is behind Us so what we’re going to do is I’m going to quickly switch to try this and I’m going to hold the headset about chest level and I’m going to click the reset button and what that will do is it’ll Center the view for wherever that headset is pointing all right the next Thing we got to do is we have to send the display over to the headset like I said remember that this is basically an extended display so what we need to do is we need to select down on our menu we’re going to select the headset window And we are going to send it over to the extent display the window shortcut for that is to press the Windows key shift and the right arrow or the left arrow depending on where your display is all right one second think I had it selected all right now I Do just make sure I’m on it and I’m going to do that again windows shift left now you’re also going to see this little menu that comes up or does not sorry not menu this little window that allows you to see what the person wearing the headset sees very similar to What the ps4 has when you turn on a TV so she’s going to put the headset on just get lined up to her eyes you’ll notice that the lights are not on at the front of the headset because we are not using any positional tracking here we are simply using the gyroscope within The psvr and it actually works very very well when you come into here the first thing you want to do is go to options and I’m using my mouse right now to select that menu option we’re going to go to options and we’re going to go to VR settings and We want to make sure very very important we want to make sure we are in a seated play mode but that’s going to allow us to do is going allow us to use the keyboard and the mouse just like we would if we were playing minecraft regularly so the WASD Keys with the Mouse and it works fantastic works really really well all right we’re going to hit done excellent done again we’re going to go to single-player is the view looking okay perfect we’re go single player and we’re going to go to one of our worlds that we’ve created here and it’s going to Load into the world of Minecraft and she’s got a creeper right in front of her luckily she’s in creative mode so she won’t be attacked but you can see it follows her movements perfectly and if I’m going to kind of mess her up a little bit here by moving her but you’ll Notice that the cool thing is that your pointer is now a crosshair and it allows you to look around with the mouse you can also use your head so she can look side to side up and down wherever she wants but the crosshair shows her where she’s going to dig or What she’s going to build with okay basically where Sh or spawn yeah we can do another spawn if you want okay there we go now one thing we noticed when we first started using this mod we had to adjust the size of the player because the player was way Too small so the way we did that is we went escape we went to options VR settings and world scale and I change that to 1.8 seem to kind of feel right hey he’s pretty good uh you can tweak it to whatever you think looks good By default it was at one point zero weight ooh smell the blocks were gigantic um and you felt really really small all right so you can adjust it for what you feel is proper alright like I said the fantastic thing about this is you don’t need any extra software if you Have the BR already it’s going to work you can use it for a number of PC games it’s a heck of a lot cheaper and then the vibe and the rift and it works fantastic alright so I hope you can try that out the links to all of this Information the the mods and try this will be in the description below alright we hope you guys subscribe like this video we hope this is useful and we hope that you guys use your headset to play minecraft or any other games right on thanks for watching see you later Video Information
