The java version of minecraft is finally here to run on the standalone quest 2 and the quest 1. that means no link no airlink no beefy pc or thousands of dollars spent just you your quest 2 and most likely a battery pack hey there folks i’m z storm from z storm games and Today i’m just going to be showing you how to install the java edition of minecraft on your standalone quest now this is going to be pretty simple but i’m still going to walk you through all of the steps first off we’re going to need to have whatever device that you Have your oculus app installed on i have mine installed on my iphone we are then going to activate the developer mode so let’s click on menu then devices developer mode and then just slide the switch to the on position easy peasy next you’re going to need a computer or an android enabled Device to be able to connect your quest 1 or 2 to side quest if you don’t know what side quest is i’ll have a link in the description below to the website with a basic guide on how to get you started for the pc method if you’ve never connected your quest before you’re Going to need a type c usb cable to be able to connect it to your computer the quest 1 and quest 2 come with a type c to type c usb cable but if your computer does not have a type c port you’re going To need a type c to type a usb cable the first time you connect your quest to the pc you will get some pop-ups in the headset just make sure to accept and allow all that so sidequest can transfer files to your headset your quest then should be fully connected to sidequest And this is where the installation method gets a little bit easier than in the past you now just have to go to the sidequest store and search for questcraft go to the games page and click download that’s it for the main part and now it’s installed on your quest but don’t go Leaving just yet because we still need to set up a little bit more of it in the headset itself these steps should go almost exactly the same for installing minecraft via your android enabled phone with sidequest okay now we’re going to disconnect our quest from the pc and hop into the headset Let’s go to our app library and in the top right corner we’re going to change this tab from all to unknown sources which is all the way down at the bottom click on the posjav launcher and wait for it to finish installing with the fully installed you’re going to want to Sign into your microsoft account that has your minecraft java edition on it we are now presented with a launcher similar to what we get on the pc java version but before jumping in and playing we are going to click on settings video and renderer and then choose the third option down Then we want to change the game version type click the drop down menu and scroll all the way to the last option fabric loader now we can hit the play button and we will be presented with one last window make sure to always hit play anyways when this window pops up always It’s crucial don’t be a rebel and break your game files and especially don’t hit that skip button just wait a short bit and you’ll be launched into a world of redness a little bit more of waiting and you should then be in the main menu of minecraft now for some reason i’m Floating way above the menus and i’m not exactly sure why but we’re gonna go ahead and try and hop into it anyways if you click the reset button in the bottom right corner that should then adjust all the video settings properly to the device that you’re using but if this Doesn’t adjust it properly then you can go into your video settings and set your render distance to six chunks for the quest two or five chunks for the quest one you can fine tune this just like the pc version but be aware it will cause performance issues if you try to crank Everything too high but there you have it it’s all done you have fully installed minecraft java edition on the standalone quest so when you first load into the world you may notice a little bit of lag for about five ten minutes and that’s something that’s actually normal with the java edition of Minecraft when you’re running lower end hardware and also yes in case you’re wondering you can play on servers that support minecraft vr and some servers that don’t support it but you may have to be careful because there is a chance you could get banned on those servers i Hope you enjoyed this video of how to install minecraft java edition on your standalone quest if you did enjoy the video and you haven’t already please feel free to drop a like and slap that subscribe button as it really helps out in supporting my channel as a small content creator thanks again everyone And as always remember never give up peace out Video Information
