Hey everyone i’m kevin jensen it’s another beautiful morning in minecraft in this screencast we’re going to cover the seven basic logic gates that you can build using redstone circuits first up is the not gate the not gate inverts the input so if the input is on the output is off and vice versa So here it is on but our switch is off so if we switch that to on the output is off next up is the or gate the or gate is a two bit gate so we’ll have two inputs and its output is on when at least one Of the inputs is on so here both inputs are off and when either one of them is turned on the output is on next is the and gate the and gates output is on only when both inputs are on so here both switches are off when one’s on The output is still off but when both are turned on the output is on next is the not or or nor gate the nor gate is an or gate with an inverted output so the output is off when at least one of the inputs is on See if i can get my stuff together here okay so there you can see the output is on and when at least one of these is on the output is off next up is the not and or the nand gate and just like the nor gate the nand gate is The nand gate’s output is off only when both inputs are on so here the input is on and both of these are off so if we switch one off it is still on but when both are off or both are on the output is off Next up is the exclusive or gate or xor gate and the xor gate the xor gate’s output is on when the inputs are not equal to each other or in other words when one or the other is on but not both and this is a little more complicated of a gate That’s a lie it’s considerably more complicated and we’ll move this output somewhere here so we can actually see it okay so here the gates are equal or the inputs are equal so when i turn one on the output is on but when i make them equal again the output is off Lastly is the not exclusive or or the xnor gate the xnor gate’s output is on when the inputs are equal to each other and this is basically just an xor gate with a negated output or an inverted output so let’s put our switches okay now this is where it gets different is There’s an additional block with a torch to invert the output so here the switches are equal so the output is on but when they’re in equal the output is off and those are the seven basic logic gates that you can build in minecraft Video Information
