Hey everyone welcome back to another tree tutorial i have been experimenting with some new blocks from 1.17 for these trees and i’m super excited to show them to you like the title in this video says these trees are simply magical i can’t wait to show them to you and Before we start let me just say that i am going to be kind of speeding through these because there’s a lot of them if you want to know more about technique and stuff i have so many other trade videos out there but i’m going to give you some basic concepts this is not Block for block so we’re just going to kind of show you some basic ideas of things to think about as you’re building trees and hopefully you’ll be able to pick up on some of those ideas and be able to build your own amazing trees let’s get started The first tree idea i’m going to do involves the drip stone and i’m actually not going to use all of these blocks but i went ahead and placed them out in case you wanted to vary it up a bit i am myself just going to be using the diorite wall for the trunk However you could if you wanted to put full blocks you could put a full block of diorite with it or some calcite since that’s an option now and it looks really nice with the diorite so if you want to make a thicker trunk you could use either of those blocks but For me i’m just going to be using the wall for the leaves or the top of the tree i’m using mushroom block because i think the texture and color looks really good with the drip stone you could use a drip stone block but i like the smoother texture of the mushroom block Terracotta would work too although i really chose this just because i like the color better so any color that you think would look good with the drip stone that’s what you want to use let’s go ahead and start a trunk over here and i’m just going to be using the walls For mine just like i said because sometimes it is nice to have a variety of trees where you have some with thick trunks some with thin trunks i’m just going to do a very basic base like that i don’t want to do this necessarily because i don’t like The hole it puts down there but we can vary up the the ends like this to make it look like it has roots that might be too big but you get the idea and i’m just going to figure out some branches with this the nice thing about using the walls Is i don’t have to use any other block i can use this for the branches and the trunk and i’m just going to kind of you know weave it in and out and make a lot of branches here and i’m thinking about the shape of the tree As i’m doing this so it’s also a good idea to come down and get a look at it from the ground so you can see what you’re doing so just think about the overall shape of the tree as you do this make sure you have some going Up at an angle it’s okay to have some go down a little bit like i did there and because we’re using walls we’re probably not going to be able to fit as many branches but i’m going to try to fit as many as i can actually now that i think about it i Probably don’t want too many branches going down because we’re going to be using the drip stone to get that downward effect so i’m just going to keep my branches kind of going up like this also don’t forget to have a few branches that stick straight up because trees do do that Sometimes you gotta get those round parts up there now if we want to do drip stone hanging off of this it might be a good idea to make sure we have at least one block on the ends of each one going out so that we don’t Leave a branch going up i think it’s going to leave all of them going out just so we have more room for the drip stone to go off of and let’s do this one there let’s put one over here so it really is wherever you think it Needs one it’s going to look really crowded with all the walls i see a huge gap right here so i’m going to try to put actually i’m going to remove this branch it’s okay to undo some things if you don’t like them and i’m going to put one right there And i think that’s good enough see how the middle there isn’t really anything here so i’m just gonna kind of drag this one up right in the middle just so we have something there so that’s good enough for a basic shape and now we’re gonna cover it with some mushroom blocks Now the tricky thing about using full blocks for leaves is you don’t want it to be covering every single block because you still want to be able to see the branches through it and since these aren’t transparent at all you gotta be careful with that also mushroom blocks are so annoying to Work with because when you place next to it it’s gonna reveal that other texture and i really don’t like that but the mushroom block was still the nicest block you could use terra cotta if that’s easier it does look almost exactly the same but i like the mushroom blocks And continue to do this all over the tree make sure to leave plenty of air gaps and try not to place them any more than two blocks away from each branch that way you’ll know you’re being consistent with the placement as you’re going around just make sure if You ever come across a branch where the end is sticking out like this those are the ones i’m really looking out for just making sure every end of a branch is covered it’s also hard to make sure you’re not having huge sections of wall that don’t have a block next to them Let me see i think this is pretty good it is super annoying trying to place the mushroom block without it interfering with the other blocks so if you want to have an easier time just do what i said before and use something different i’m struggling as you can see but i Might just leave some of those because i don’t feel like dealing with it but the believe me the mushroom block just looks so much nicer i did try drip stone i did try it i just i like the way the mushroom block looks okay so i think that’s good enough Almost i see another branch that needs a couple more and now we’re just going to take our drip stone and it’s pretty easy and obvious what you’re going to do with this we’re just going to put it on the leaves that we find on the ends of the tree And just start placing them you can do two three or one however many you want i will say though try not to overdo it because it’s very easy to overdo this so if i were to put it on every single block it does look a bit overdone so try not To do it here i’ve got three directly behind each other so i’m probably going to remove that one i probably don’t need that many there so just try to space them out and vary the lengths it’s okay to put a single one in some spots but put the longer ones closer to The bottom and just repeat this around as much as you want as much as you see a need to do it okay so here’s my drip stem tree i just wanted to point something out in case you didn’t notice but i’ve tried to keep all the drip stone on the bottom half of The tree i think there’s a couple spaces in the back where it went all the way to the top like that but i would keep all the longer ones along the bottom and i think it looks a lot nicer now there’s some spots this tree that look like they could be fixed it’s Just really hard working with full blocks and walls for branches but overall i think this tree has a lot of potential you could always keep working on it and spend more time on it i just threw this one together real quick but that’s the ripstone tree it’s so Cool and i actually love the color palette the reason i used the diorite for the trunk was because it’s a good contrast with the brown for the drip stone and the leaves and that’s it that’s the drip stone tree Next we’re going to do a large azalea tree this is kind of my own design for an azealia tree i don’t think it’s really realistic but i wanted to take advantage of all these new blocks so we’re going to be using spruce for the trunk i’m going to be Using the stripped spruce because it looks really nice with these and a stair and fences and i have the spore blossom i’m still learning the names of all these things because i haven’t really played much in this version yet but we’re going to be using this underneath the fences like that And then i have the two azalea versions of the leaves so let’s go ahead and start making this i want this tree to spread a little more so i’m going to design the trunk to be a little bit more like that so i’m going to just do The full blocks kind of at an angle like this and then i’m going to go on the opposite side and maybe do another one of those kind of angling out so usually if you want your tree to spread out a lot i usually start like this With the branches curving if i want it to be a smaller tree with a very round top then i might just go straight up or more upward but because i want this to spread more i’m using the bigger parts of the trunk like this that’s probably all i need there And i can mix in some stairs too if i really wanted to mostly i like to use these down here though for the roots so you can get a lot of cool roots down here that looks good and the rest of the work is going to be Done with the fences for all the smaller branches so you can make these go as far out as you want i want this treaty to spread because i think it looks really really nice almost like a willow tree but not exactly and we’re going to yeah just extend Those out and continue those curves so you’ll see how i’m making the branches kind of curve downward that’s actually kind of hard to do in survival but i think it looks so much nicer so i’m sorry if it’s not something that you can do easily i know i can’t do easily i’ve tried It’s not that easy but it does make the tree look so much nicer if you can do it if the tree is smaller it’s not too difficult with scaffolding but if you’re doing a really large tree it does get a little more difficult so it also just depends on the size of The tree you’re doing but it’s okay to just end the branch you know and not go down that’s fine too just to have it going on an upward angle actually some of these middle branches are probably going to have to do that because they’re not all of them are going to be Droopy we just want them drooping on the edges so these middle ones we couldn’t even do some that go straight up like this because we need to fill in all those center spots too so that’s something i always forget to do is to fill in all these center areas Because the trees grow up too they don’t just grow out we have to remember they grow up first so let’s get all these branches up here i don’t know if you guys have seen my other tree tutorials but i pretty much explain how to build trees in every single video You’re basically just going to be looking for an overall shape of your branches see how i’m missing a lot over here and this branch is sticking out too far i’m trying to keep it pretty even all the way around so i’m just going to continue placing branches and filling in all the gaps Until i get this whole shape here looking like i want it just imagine what it would look like with leaves filled in but just doing the branches All right i think that’s good enough just remember the more branches you have the easier it is to do the leaves because then you don’t have to think about it as much you just look wherever you have a branch and start putting the leaves now i do have The azalea leaves plus the flowering leaves and it doesn’t really matter what order you do it in you could do both at the same time but i’m just going to mix them up so i’m just going to start with one and just kind of spread them around There really is no exact placement i’m doing this i’m just kind of scattering them and i’m just going to mix the two different types of leaves but i’m going to do the flowering ones first that way i know they’re kind of somewhat evenly distributed and then i’ll probably just fill in the Rest of the spaces with ordinary leaves i think that’s going to be the easiest thing to do all right this looks pretty good and spaced out and let’s go ahead and start with the regular leaves something we do want to remember is when we get to this four blossoms We’re basically going to be placing those on the underside of the fences so normally i do put leaves underneath the fences but we just want to make sure to leave more of those open because whichever ones we have open we’ll go ahead and put a spore blossom on So it’s okay to leave some of the undersides of those fences open because we’re gonna use it for the blossoms later oh also a fun tip if you want to just like drag the ends down a little bit you kind of get almost a weepy willow effect If you kind of drag those down it almost looks like hanging vines that could be a nice look if that’s the look you want i’m just kind of making this up as i go so just giving you some tips in case you want them i’m just going to continue Filling out all of these leaves because this does take a while this is the part where you just have to be patient and just enjoy the process it’s actually very therapeutic if you just relax and don’t even think about it that’s pretty much what i do i just Start placing leaves and then before i know it the tree is done and i didn’t even think about it all right here’s my tree so far i really like actually these extra vines hanging down i’m going to call them vines they’re just leaves but they’re just longer leaves that Droop down a little bit so now we’re just going to take the spore blossom and just find any open branches where you might want to place it so you can place them in a row maybe don’t put two next to each other like that we can probably spread them out a little more But just look for any open branches you have any open fences and just start placing them there’s all kinds of spots for this i really wish we could have these facing in a different direction but i managed to make it work out this way on this tree And there’s our azalea tree like i said i don’t think this is like your typical azalea tree i’m not really sure exactly what they look like for real but this is kind of like my own variation using all the azalea blocks and spore blossoms and i think it looks really nice Something i just noticed though is this branch right here is disconnected so watch out for those disconnected branches where it’s like on the corner i’m just going to put a stair there and fix that real quick also i’m probably going to put a stair down here because it almost looked like It was a little lopsided the whole tree it still does kind of look lopsided but that’s something you can easily fix with extra branches back there but from the front you can’t even tell i’m gonna call that done This tree is my favorite tree i’ve ever made mostly because purple is my favorite color and the amethyst is my favorite thing ever but we’re going to be doing the tree using these blocks so what is this block called okay deep slate see i always forget what it’s Called but we’re going to be using deep slate for the trunk because i thought it’d be cool to try to make a grayish looking trunk plus it just has a wood kind of quality to it so i thought it’d be nice and it looks really good with the Amethyst too so it’s an obvious choice we’re going to be using amethyst glass and amethyst cluster i just had to check what the name was there and that’s what we’re going to be using for the top of the tree so let’s go ahead and start with a basic Chunk shape it’s just like any other tree that we’ve done in the past or i’ve done in any other video i’m just going to start with the deep slight blocks and i don’t know how big i want this tree to go probably not super tall and probably Don’t want it to spread out like the last one but i’m just going to stop it there maybe just put an extra block there and i can even do a little branch over here if i wanted to you don’t want the big thick parts to go up too high though that looks pretty Good and then i’m going to go ahead and put some of these down for some roots if you wanted to do that and then for the rest of it we’re just going to take the walls oh this is the polished deep slight wall by the way See i don’t even know what blocks i’m using and i’m just going to use this for the branches so just like before just kind of spread them around wherever you think a branch needs to go to shape this tree now i’m not going to make these ones Fall because the way we’re going to do the leaves we want the leaves to fall so i’m not going to make the branches fall or anything i’m just going to have them extend out maybe go up a little bit too but i’m not going to pull them down like This so much like the other ones did although you probably could do that it’s just easier if you don’t so i’m just going to do it this way and another thing to pay attention to is when you look at it from the top which you probably don’t do Very often in survival but it’s a good idea to check it from the top and make sure that you’re building everything around the same distance from the trunk you want to look nice and round around the whole thing just keep working out your branches filling in the space you can go down some If you need to we’re just not going to make it spread out like the last one i just want to be this nice little tree and i just need to fill in all these spaces don’t forget to do the top ones too have one going somewhere in the middle See how we have it looking really flat right now so i’m going to adjust that and add some ones that go up here oh something else to keep in mind for this tree since we are going to be doing a lot of hanging leaves make sure that a lot of the branches Actually end somewhere on the edges of the tree so that the leaves actually have somewhere to fall that’s a good point so for example if i had this end up here i’m probably not going to put a leaf hanging up there because it’s going to Be kind of hard to do that in the middle of the tree just make sure you have plenty of branches on the edge of the tree where you can put leaves that are falling and go ahead and finish out building all your branches I think this is pretty good for the branches it’s kind of harder to do with the walls because they’re so thick trying to get the good shape there’s probably some spots i missed but because this tree is so busy i think we’ll be fine so to start the leaves i’m going to Start with the purple stained glass and the amethyst cluster so what we’re going to try to do is get the amethyst cluster to look like it’s cascading down the sides and i found the best way to do that is to attach the glass because glass isn’t nearly as noticeable And it still kind of blends in with the trees so it looks kind of natural so what i’m going to do is find any branch that’s on the end and i’m just going to take the glass and make this pattern with it so i’m just going to kind of Go every other block and zigzag it down i’m probably going to stop it there i don’t want it to reach too far to the ground so 4 there is good and you’re going to want to do this everywhere else so let’s just do another one here just as an example this one’s also Four down if i wanted to start a little bit higher and redo that i could because i also don’t want them all to end on the same level i’m trying to vary the heights of them but once you have one of these set up all you have to do is take your cluster And just put it on the inside of those glass blocks like this and then it looks like it’s falling oh and you can put one on the bottom there and we’ll worry about the top ones later but we’re going to start with this pattern so anytime you do one of these just go Ahead and put the clusters in if it helps you and i’m just going to do a few more of those around remember just doing it on the edge branches i’m probably not going to do it on the inside because i probably won’t have space and it’s kind of Hard to reach under here but if you want it to go all the way down there you could and see that one’s off to the side a little bit so i’m trying to adjust the angles of them too so this one i’ll probably do another one here that goes this way Maybe i’ll have this one go a little bit longer too something i did find though is you don’t want to overdo it so i already have several over here it’s time to put some on the other side so just repeat that until you get what you think Is enough to cover the outside edge we can always add more later if we have to i am going to put one here on the inside because i felt like it needed it but that looks pretty good so we’ve got all of those done so now i’m going to Take the regular amethyst block and start adding this like normal leaves on top and if you wanted to you could just do the rest of these steps all at once but what we’re basically going to do is mix in that and some glass and some amethyst cluster But something i do want to point out is we don’t want to put too much of the cluster we don’t want these on every single block because it just looks a bit much so just make sure that when you do do this maybe save the clusters for last at Least for the top part and we’ll just focus on placing the full blocks first so i’m just going to scatter the amethyst blocks and can i just say these are probably my new favorite blog in minecraft just because of the sound they make and the color they are yeah they’re just so great And this tree is honestly the best thing i’ve ever designed i love it so much maybe we’ll have to call this the musical tree instead of just the amethyst tree because it’s just so awesome okay continue placing your blocks okay i did the full amethyst block first But now i’m going to just mix in some purple glass too since we have it on the lower part of the tree might as well and this one doesn’t matter as much if you do happen to cover a branch it might help a little bit because these branches are so dark But just make sure to leave some air blocks still we don’t want to fill in every single space air blocks are very nice on trees so just remember to do that and this is pretty good i think i’m just going to add these as i need to But i’m going to go ahead and do the clusters so for these what i found looks really nice is if you don’t put them all the way to the top of the tree maybe kind of phase them out so you can put more maybe closer to the end of the tree But once you get toward the top maybe just put a couple here and there just don’t overload it with these because it will look like you overloaded it with these if you did it i don’t know how to describe it it’s just gonna look better if you use them sparingly All right i think this looks pretty good i do see a few spots that are missing one yeah just don’t overdo it it looks like you have too many vines which it might look like i might have too many this one i added here I know i added it there to fill in that space but i’m gonna see what it looks like without it because i think it kind of filled my space a little too much and oh that looks better it’s really easy for this tree to become overcrowded so Just be very mindful as you’re building that i feel like i keep saying that over and over again also this looks strange don’t do that but i think this tree is pretty good there are a few gaps i’m seeing like long sections of a branch that don’t have any block on them Little things like that that kind of bother me but for the sake of the tutorial i think that’s a good example and it looks really really nice this last tree doesn’t fit with the rest meaning it doesn’t have any 1.17 blocks but it’s a tree i’ve been going to do for a Long time and it kind of fits in with the theme of this video so i thought i’d go ahead and stick it in here and it’s just going to be a bell tree that’s all it is a tree that has bells hanging from it almost like they were flowers and i’m Going to be using a very almost monochromatic color palette we’ve got birch here and yellow glazed terracotta and bells so it’s all very yellow it’s a very yellow tree and i actually did try it with a darker trunk but i feel like the lighter version looked really nice I don’t know it’s just very light and cheerful so if you need that kind of tree then you can build this one so we’re gonna start with the stripped birch wood and go ahead and make our trunk and this one i’m probably not going to Make super big let me go back a little further let’s go here and i’m probably just going to use these for maybe that much of it like i really don’t want this trunk to be super big and then i’ll take the stairs and connect that And maybe do a few roots down here you could do slabs down here too if you wanted to but just have a few little roots to make it look like it’s more grounded and then let’s go ahead and take our fences and start placing these now because of the way i Want to place the bells i’m going to be placing the bells underneath the fences so i’m just going to take these and curve them around and down like this so we do want to do the droopy shape but i also want to make sure the fences are kind of doing the stair step Thing if you had them two blocks apart like this it’s not a problem but just think about you’re going to be putting bells under all of these so just keep that in mind and we’re probably going to do branches that don’t look like this but i’m going to start With all the branches that do droop like that so i’m specifically thinking of the ones where i want to put the bells on and we want to make sure they are evenly distributed on the tree so just start building it out with that in mind i don’t want to go super big so I’m trying not to make it go out too far you can have them hang down a little bit and have these come down here now this one come down here so just start with all your droopy branches if you need to use scaffolding for this because this is Really annoying to do in survival but it looks so good if you can get it and if you look at it from the top you can see how many we have i think that’s good enough if i want to add more of these later i can do that when i’m adding the bells Um so now i’m going to think about the top of the tree because if you look at it from down here it looks really flat so i’m just going to make sure to bring a few branches maybe extend this one or this one branches that go straight up and maybe Out just a little bit here just to make sure we have a nice round crown of the tree because we’re going to be putting the terracotta up here for the leaves so just like that is good these little branches are basically a visual for us to place our leaves So that looks pretty good i might make it go a little bit higher even the shape of the tree doesn’t matter the general principles are the same you can make the tree whatever shape you want but i think this looks pretty good i have it going a little bit taller Because i want to just be around a tree that’s just a preference or just what i’m doing for this one you can make it any shape you want so now i’m going to start with the bells because this is going to be a lot easier to do at this Point so just take your bells and start placing them if you find a fence you want to put one and it’s too high you can always bring it down like this but i’m just going to kind of go around and place them on all these ends of fences like this they kind of Look like flowers when the tree is finished so if you think of them like that they’re kind of like bell flowers and if you’re ever wondering how am i going to get this many bells for this tree well you can trade for them so you can set up some Villagers and trade for bells and you can get them that way very easily so continue placing your bells they’re super loud hurting my ears as i’m doing this but there we go and that looks pretty good if you wanted to put some on these higher branches you can although it’s not Absolutely necessary we just need those bottom ones covered and then the rest of the tree is pretty easy we’re just going to take the yellow glazed terracotta and cover it just like normal as if these were the leaves on the tree and let’s just continue doing this you Could do any yellow block i just really like the look of the yellow glazed terracotta it doesn’t mix too well with some of the other yellows i kind of like the the duller tone yellow that it has compared to some of the bright yellows of the other blocks But you can experiment and try other color palettes if you wanted to but i’m just going to be using this block on my tree so just start spraying it around making sure to leave some air blocks and plenty of gaps where you can see the branches through the leaves because these are Solid blocks so just make sure to leave plenty of air gaps and start filling in all the spaces and there’s our tree completed if you wanted to add extra bells once you’ve finished all the leaves if you happen to find extra fences just don’t hang them from the leaves just try to find Fences that were consistent but i think this is pretty good i like that it’s actually a little bit of a different shape than the one the practice one i made but this looks really really nice i hope you guys like it well i hope you guys enjoyed that video These are probably my favorite tree designs out of all the ones i’ve made by the way i have several other tree tutorials out there so i will link to a playlist or something so you can find those but i hope you guys like these designs they’re super fun And i’m glad i got to work with the new blocks and figure out some cool designs for you all so i hope you guys liked it i look forward to seeing you in another video someday bye Video Information
