Minecraft: How to Defeat The Twilight Lich Boss (The Twilight Forest Boss Guide)

What’s up guys welcome back to the channel my name is dean aka the blue crusader and in today’s video we’re going to be showing you how to defeat the twilight lich boss in the twilight forest mod now the reason why i’m going to be covering this is because in my

Original twilight forest mod showcase which you can find linked down below in the description i didn’t actually originally cover the twilight lich boss or how to defeat it so i decided to make a standalone video kind of to add on to the original on how to defeat this boss

And the general boss fight so first of all you need to find what’s called the twilight lich tower the lich tower is basically found in the following biomes the highlands the dense twilight forest the mushroom forest and the deep mushroom forest now as you can see here

This is what the tower looks like and i’m in survival mode and there’s no main entrance okay there’s no actual doors found anywhere around on this tower so there’s nowhere we can actually seek to gain entrance so because of this we have to either break our way through to enter

Or tower up with a set of blocks i’ve left my pickaxe back at my base so just for the sake of this i’m just gonna give myself a diamond pick and as you can see we have some cobblestone already prepared so basically you just have to start going through and actually

Breaking through the wall and you might even find silverfish here because they have those annoying stone blocks which is really frustrating and as you can see that silverfish knocked off all those golden hearts now i do have a ton of golden apples you might not have

These so this may be a little bit tougher for you let’s just give myself some torches as well because i’ve really not come as prepared as i would have liked to to show you this fight so okay as you can see we broke off into one of

These towers but to actually gain access to the top there’s a little bit of leg work to do and we have to go through a few different rooms now it might actually be a little bit of a challenge to find the actual main hall because around the lich tower there’s many

Different winding corridors and buildings many different staircases which all lead you to different places which can be a little bit confusing you may have a hard time finding the main room but all it takes is kind of minor way from the outside and then kind of

Especially if we go on the roof here we can find our way to the actual main building which is obviously going to be situated in the center which is this main tower up here now you may have actually tried to enter this building and actually kicked you out of the

Building and you may be wondering why on earth can i not actually get into this building like you did now there’s actually an entry requirement as you can see we found the main building here to get inside here there’s an entry requirement okay so the twilight forest

As a mod it basically has kind of like a progression system right okay we don’t want to fall off this this roof so it has a progression system so you have to defeat certain bosses to then be able to access other boss fights so this situation we have to actually defeat the

Naga boss to access the twilight lich fight itself so if you haven’t yet defeated the naga you really need to do that first because otherwise there’s going to be an invisible force field which will block you out from actually gaining access to the tower in general now when you actually get inside the

Tower you’ll need to be prepared because there’s a ton of mobs to actually face so what we’re going to do is we’re just going to destroy these spawners try and put as many torches around as possible now we’ve kind of done a little bit of a life hack here because we’ve mined into

The side of the building and we’ve already gained some height to actually get to the top so once you remove the force field which stops you from mind through the wall by defeating the naga boss you can actually mine through just like we did now if you don’t do this

Remember the force field blocks even if you try and break them they’ll just instantly respawn and then i’ll block you from coming through now another tip i would give you put torches around to prevent extra monsters from spawning because they’re going to inevitably spawn and then come back up the stairs

Just like this guy’s doing so you want to prevent as many as possible from spawning in the dark places which also includes these rooms and most of the time they won’t have spawners but it’s best just to double check and put torches around and also defeat as many mobs around as possible especially

Skeletons because they are really annoying and then we’ll just illuminate some of these side rooms and prepare for the boss fight now there’s multiple levels you’ll find many small rooms and large staircases before reaching this main a large building which we’re actually in which as you can see houses

The boss at the top how do we actually defeat this boss well first of all he’s gonna summon large visages around which you can’t damage okay and what makes this boss fight hard is these visitors they will basically all shoot projectiles at you just like the boss okay which makes it extremely hard

To kill the boss and it’ll kind of knock you around and the boss can teleport and reposition which will also make it harder to actually defeat him now the only way to actually damage this boss in the first phase is actually by deflecting these ender pearls which he’s

Going to fire back at him and you can also deflect the visages ender pills which are these little clones back at the boss as well now the reason why this is hard is they need to have a direct hit so you need to be in the trajectory

Of where the end of pill is being fired at and you need to hit it straight off i’m just going to show you an example we’re just going to use a shield and as you can see they will deflect the particles in some situations and then

They’ll also do damage now you can see the boss hit himself that time and i deflected the ender pill the first time so we’ve now notched off two shields on top of the boss now the reason for this is is when the boss gets hit by his own projectiles or

When you knock them back in he will lose one of the shields on the top boss health bar and obviously to show this in real time he will obviously lose them off of his actual shield spinning around the boss visually so you can see at the top he has three different shields for

His health and now he has two shields visually spinning around him now you can make him hit himself it’s a little bit more challenging like if you use a shield point blank sometimes he’ll hit himself but you kind of need to kite around and he will periodically shoot these particles

Which can be quite hard to drive back so okay i’ve hit him so now this is where phase two happens okay phase two is gonna be hard because this is where he summons minions so you need to be in a good space for this fight so as you can see here

I’ve just trapped myself in a room this is the worst spot that you could be in so in my situation for this don’t put yourself in a room and trap yourself there okay because you’re gonna have a hard time and we’re just gonna make sure this place is illuminated now

Remember the boss is gonna stay in the top room he’s not gonna follow you unless you let him okay and in the second phase it’s not advisable to go for the boss he’s gonna have a gold sword and he’s gonna do melee damage to

You and this is going to be a pve fight okay but like i said it’s not advisable to attack the boss in the second phase while he’s supporting the mobs but in the third phase he will basically come at you and start lunging at you and this

Is just going to be basically a hack and slash fight now the reason why this boss fight is seemed quite easy at first is mainly because i have all these golden apples okay you’re not gonna have all these golden apples so this boss fight may be a little bit tougher if you

Haven’t crafted these golden apples now obviously i would recommend doing so it really bases itself on what materials you have and what you have access to to go into this fight so let’s just run over things a little bit more now that you’ve seen the boss fight in person

First hand and you’ve seen me defeat the boss let’s go over a few of the extra information which we didn’t cover and we shall traverse around the lich tower a little bit more and gain a little bit of action while we talk about this so the

Boss has three phases okay as you saw he was pretty tanky he has a hundred health and he will always stay on the top floor unless the player leaves but if you leave and go too far away he can follow you so don’t go too far down the stairs

You saw that i left and went down the stairs but i didn’t go too far because the boss can teleport away in danger and with this he can also follow you so this is a little bit risky so the first phase when we’re fighting the boss you saw

That he has damage immune shields surrounding it and he’ll fire ender pills at you i failed to mention that he will also fire those fireballs at you as well which can also damage you now i don’t know if you can deflect the fireballs you mainly have to deflect the

Ender pearls trying to flick the ender pills from the boss but you can also deflect the ender pills coming from the bosses visitors which are those shadows which are the two different mobs which will spawn which look like him but they’re slightly faded and you can’t

Damage them so any of the ender pills firing from the boss and the other two mobs you can deflect and damage the shield in phase one to remove any of the shields you can see his shields visually or just look at the boss health bar at

The yellow bar and you’ll see how many shields he has left and then when he loses all his shield this will remove the boss’s first phase and it’ll go into phase two now remember the projectiles file do do six damage so you need to be careful which makes the visages or the

Shadows pretty dangerous now as we move into phase two of this boss fight the boss can summon lich minions and zombies now this was a little bit tough but the good thing about this phase is you saw that there was only like five or six zombies i actually had to deal with and

They weren’t that much more powerful than normal standard zombies especially with the diamond gear which i have is all fully enchanted which made it extremely easy to kill this boss so you don’t really have to worry at this stage about fighting the zombies if you come with decent gear because that phase goes

Very quickly basically he uses a scepter to summon these undead minions and he will keep summoning them until the charge of that scepter diminishes and when that runs out of charge he can’t summon anymore and that’s when he’ll go into phase three and go pretty crazy so

The minions also do four damage so they’re not actually that powerful to actually face now the two shadows will obviously disappear during phase two when he summons the zombies because that obviously would make it too hard if you had to face all of them but remember

Even in phase two when the zombies are actually getting summoned the boss is still vulnerable and then when you kill all three zombies or five zombies or however many spawn he’ll go into phase three where his scepter is depleted and the boss will basically just run at you

In a frenzy and start damaging you with this gold sword and that’s just basically the way you have to just heal defend yourself for the shield and just dial the boss down in pve combat with a sword and it’s pretty straightforward and easy from there so that is how to
