Minecraft Sky Factory – Part 6 – Magical crops & The Sprinkler!

Hello everybody and welcome back to given on caffeine mother’s Isaac and welcome back to sky factory this is episode 6 and the last episode we build ourselves this very nice little house that we do we have over here it’s not the best house in the world and kind of

Going for probably a couple of hours actually because as you can see we’ve managed to compost a stack and a half almost of dirt and you’ll see this thing here is it’s still going oh it is yeah you’ll see this thing here I thought we were out of hammers but you’ll see this

Guy down here is pretty much full which is a kind of incense or make small space so that some stuff can come through jeez look at that had a lot of gosh oh wow look at that the hopper what’s our back to bond iron everything geez alright so

We’ve we’ve gotten a lot of stuff oh I will hop back in there we’ve got some more iron making itself in there that’s gonna get us to a total of ten I think that actually takes us to and well geez miles coming in about 26 27 coming up on

Which we are now gonna use to set up a farm what type of farm you ask well multiple types of farms I’m going to cut down the sugarcane actually first get rid of you guys first things first we kinda need food if the minute we are living off silkworms which even though

Not the best it’s really not the best it doesn’t really matter in this modpack all that much we could just live off silkworms for the whole of the series it would really make no difference but it’s a bit of a pain it takes like five or

Six silkworms to fill you up and that’s not really what I want to go about doing things so I’m gonna make a farm and get us some more fulfilling foods so let’s go ourselves some cobblestone and I’m gonna go ahead and quickly set up a little section over here now I’m gonna

Use the sprinklers from urban blogs in order to make these things go a little bit faster the sprinklers are pretty expensive especially in terms of iron but what they do is it within a four by think it’s within and I want to say nine by nine I think it’s within a four-block

Radius like far in any direction so that would be a nine by nine it can increase the fertilization or increase the speed at which the crops grow within its radius so we have one two three four five six seven eight and I think we also have one two three four five six seven

Eight so we’re not gonna quite utilize the full potential of this of the sprinkler but we’re gonna get most of it done and we’re gonna quickly make ourselves some more slaps because we love cobblestone slabs and we are gonna go ahead and get ourselves a little platform going so I’m just gonna go

Around and Mick and get attacked by a tree go around and and make a little 8×8 enclosure with the with the cobblestone here fill it with dirt and I’ll be back in a second okay so a little while later and we have ourselves a nice little 8×8

Farming land that we can use however we please I’ve thrown out a bunch of torches around it because unlike the rest of the slabs that we’ve made everything else out of and this dirt here is for block dirt and it’s pretty much guaranteed satisfying mobs if I

Don’t left it in for darkness so oh yeah I threw out some torches and what I’m gonna do now is I could just start hoeing the ground throw it out my sprinkler and start to grow stuff but what I want to do first is I want to get

Some more seeds so in order to do that we’re gonna need some grass and not to get that we are gonna need another sip so first things first let’s make ourselves a sprinkler because this is pretty much guaranteed we’re gonna use the sprinkler we’re gonna increase the

Growth of all of our stuff so we’ll do that we’ll make ourselves a redstone torch like so make sure you get four of them cuz we’re pretty low on redstone and then we’ll get ourselves a sprinkler nice so the next thing I’m gonna want is another sieve because I couldn’t see if

It is down in the automation section being used for all sorts of automatical stuff so let’s make ourselves some ah sticks we don’t need more sticks let’s make ourselves a sieve we need some silk mesh boom boom and then we need an octave nice so we could throw this down

Anywhere we choose I’m gonna put it I think don’t in the house yeah well do I live in the house we need to put some stuff in the house let’s put it let’s put like here and we’re all going to do is we’re going to sift through some dirt

Because if we have a look at what you can get from sifting through dirt you’ll see that we can actually get these things here these grass seeds we have a 7% chance of getting grass seeds and it actually do we have any doesn’t we’ve got four grass seeds okay well we kind

Of didn’t need to sift through this one piece of dirt here but hey we’re gonna do it anyway I completely forgot that we sifted through some dirt earlier to get the together cobblestone so we’ve got these grass seeds and we’re gonna head on out to our little platform of dirt we’re

Gonna throw this down and the good thing is that grass spreads so I’ll put down I’ll put down three parallel just focus really quickly and we’ll take the rest and we’ll the last one put it back in in the chest just in case we want another

Little section of grass now there are a couple of advantages to having this this little like patch of grass over here eventually it’s going to fill up all of this is just gonna become a big like nice green pasture and the good news is that animals cannot spawn there if you

Ever look we are in a Plains biome so animals will start to spawn on some nice open grass over here which is pretty cool we can get ourselves some sheeps with cows and pigs and all that good stuff and the other good news is that if

We get some bone meal what we can start to do is we can start to bomb me on the grass to get whole grass and then break that down in order to get ourselves some different seeds so we already have some seeds we have some some wheat seeds over

There but I wanna get started on some magical crop seeds and in order to get those we need to get ourselves some magical crop essence and if we go to add some magical crops this one here and we go to the next page we need these we

Need essence seeds because all of the other seeds that you can grow I made of essence so if those who don’t know what magical crops is it basically allows you to grow things that you would usually mine which is kind of insane like if okay we have diamond seeds which are

Very expensive because they need a lot of this essence but you can still grow diamonds which is kind of insane so if we have look at the simplest one which is call seeds in order to get this we would need four call one wheat seed and one week essence one week essence is

Made up of four essence just and a weak infusion stone which is made up of either a diameter an emerald surrounded by essence and this essence here is what we get from an essence seed which we can get I have tested this in in survival

World so if anyone didn’t know how to do it that’s how you do it cuz I spent ages looking online trying to figure that out and I could not for the life in me discover it but if you if you use there the bone meal on the grass brick the

Tall grass you have a chance of getting these essence seeds what I think I’m gonna do is I’m going to sit around for quite a while now actually and then wait for this grass to spread because we weren’t quite a large amount of grass promise that berm we otherwise it’s

Probably gonna take a while I did it did take me a while in my testing world to get the the magical crops even with like a full area of grass so we can all a big area and we also eat some for meal which is something we do not have at the

Minute because I use most of it either on trees actually I think our trees allowed to get like more saplings of all sorts that kind of stuff and so we could get everything else and yeah we’ve kind of got another meal sure what I’m gonna

Go ahead and do it is I’m gonna go and grab some cobblestone grab one of our hammers and mash that down to just sift through a bunch of dust because simply through dust will get us some bone meal and I’ll be back in a second hopefully

Once we have a full platform here you can see it’s already status with a little bit and what’s with our foot platform and once we go in a per meal to start doing some serious work so I’m gonna go do that and I’ll be back in a

Second okay so again a little while later after sifting through it it’s stacking a bit of just we have ourselves a 20 bone meal and and quite a nice spread of grass over here we also got a little bit more veg stone as well which here which is always nice

So what we should be able to do now is do this boom back there’s a bunch of flowers a bunch of seeds and what we can do with these is that we can just break them and apparently get absolutely nothing we got some flowers and we got

One more seed but but that’s the sort of risk you’ve run we’ve got to keep doing this over and over and over again and so we get Wow look at that I was good so we a look at and and get some magical crop seeds but I kind of digs

Myself a little bit that we got some look at that essence seeds nice so we can do is a few more times you can get ourselves some more essence seeds that would be very nice I think I kind of got lucky there it will be a random chance

So you could get in the first raikou get in your fiftieth but we got ourselves some so much wasn’t seen which is kind of flippin cool so break a few more of these sippin gallon bit more there we go that’s another one that’s quite nice anything else what’s getting quite a few

More food seats as well you’ll see we’re getting things like blueberry seeds if I combine these sticks got strawberry seeds if I get rid of some of this flipping cobblestone we might get some other seeds we have some barley seeds quite a nice amount of seeds which is

Pretty core wing ourselves a nice variety of food even though it’s kind of not useful we don’t need a variety of food at this point yeah let’s see our Apple we could pick up this guy some cucumber seed and I think with that we will that save the rest of our bure meal

I’m gonna go quickly dump something in the chest so let’s put this here so I can pick up this these slabs and what we can do now is we can do a quick check to see how we’re doing for down here I think I’m totally about done now we have

Another folder down here whoo okay let’s take that and what I think I’ll do is I will go and dump some of my crude into one of these chests and we could start to do some core stuff so let’s get rid of some of you guys will put you in here

With the rest your stuffs there we go that’ll do and I kind of want to get sores after my sprinkle I have I neither her okay let’s get a hole so we’ll make a don’t know we might as well do so we’ll get some cobblestone on too and

We’ll just do something like this boom nice okay so the way that the spring color works is usually if you want to her some ground and actually then plant anything on it what’s this sweet concieve nice okay so yeah usually if you want to plant some stuff on a

Normal set of ground you would have to fill out some water nearby to where it’s off hydrate the ground however the fertilizer does that for you that the fire the sprinkler does that voice reek like the spring closer the spring color should I say will will hydrate all of

The all of the dirts all of the fertile dirts within a four by four block radius in any direction so within a nine by nine area of the sprinkler which is kind of cool which means we don’t need any central water and we can put down more

More dirt box without having to take up a block for the water which is quite nice sure it ought to work though we do have to provide the sprinkle of his water and in order for that to work we need to use an open blocks tank

The reason we didn’t open blocks tank is because this picture light is from open blocks sir if we have a quick look I’m pretty sure the open box tank is kind of expensive this guy here requires four obsidian and some glass panels with glass panels really easy we can get those fairly

Simply we need to spell up some substantial glass and and turn those into panels we can do that without with a hammer and a cobblestone that’s not too big of a deal the big deal comes with I’ve need to pursue solve walls of geez I have nearly fallen off this edge

So many times it’s unreal and the problem comes with the four obsidian now the good news is that the four obsidian is actually not that hard to get let me just quickly grab this this sand that we need and start putting in the furnace like so thank you other than that take

Our extra silkworms so in order to get ourselves some obsidian we’re gonna do a couple of things we’re gonna need a a stone battle a stone barrel is made using stone in bowel form so we need to get some smooth stone and so I’ll smell

Up some more of this and if I work here we need the stone barrel from ex nihilo kind of like the the wooden barrel but it’s made of stone and can hold things that are much hotter like lava which we’re gonna use it to make obsidian so

In order for that to work we’re gonna need some lava and the best way we know currently of getting a lava is via the crucible so I’m going to take 16 cobblestones I guess four blocks of lava which is the perfect amount for getting is flawed blocks of obsidian

So let’s grab our pickaxe and I’m gonna move this crucible because at the moment as it stands that that crucible is of a torch which means it’s going to vary very very very very slowly go through and produces lava so instead we are gonna go over here and try and find

Ourselves the the lava over here which i think is might flip in I don’t know I was going to do a max which I believe is directly underneath this block here nice sauger do we’re gonna go ahead and we’re gonna throw down our crucible there boom

Which did I just break it let’s lose the lava oh I didn’t but I almost lost the flip in flipping flippity-flop jeez okay that should be good there we go not play to my point one about to I’m not quite sure what that’s doing there that’s

Being a little bit odd it should be I think that I’m out by for one thing we can do I believe in order to make this faster is make ourselves some netherrack that might be the first thing we should do so much quickly go and throw some cobblestone into this battle all this

Crucible even one two three four that’s gonna slowly ops what slowly go ahead and not point to it’s pretty free and pretty somewhat fast that’s gonna go ahead and make us some lava and if we come back in here we should have ourselves enough smooth stone out to

Make ourselves a stub barrel like so stops I can go there smooth stone either side and then I step out cool okay let me have a nice much junk let’s make sure I don’t go in the junk I need like the spring color and the magic seeds either

The weed seeds as well that’s good okay so what are you to do now is we could put this down there we won again I think I put it inside because I can’t really use the inside and already have everything outside I put up there actually no I’m not I’m not gonna put

That there because we need to pour water over this thing I’m gonna put this thing outside so I’m gonna put this down here somewhere I will put you like here I should put a band be like a little stack it up to that I think that would work

Let’s see let’s grab let’s use now let’s not let’s use these let’s not be wasteful let’s grab these guys and let’s throw these down like this I should probably make this whole platform actually just warm higher with their with the stone slap so everything’s kind of even oh geez look

At this flipping like okay I kind of wasted that didn’t uh but let’s oh geez look at this black let’s take how all this funky stuff let’s grab all these guys flipping flipping a look at jeez Wow okay let’s flip a neck alright let’s grab some stuff let’s organize that we

Really need to go ahead and animate it’s a bigger chest oh we do we have the iron chest what we do okay I’m gonna go ahead and make it look good for that because flippin heck we are we are filling up on that fast so in order to make a

Determinant wooden chest into an iron chest without moving the chest and like losing all the stuff inside of it what we can do is we could grab a piece of wood throw it in the middle surrounded by iron which is kind of expensive especially I don’t have to spend eight

Iron to make a bigger chest we should approach him in a double chest but what we can do with that is we can just head on over here right-click on our chest boom we got a nice big chest I can start throwing this stuff back in and I don’t

Have to worry about it overflowing and not picking all this stuff up then it was just sort of sat on the second ago which is quite nice and it’s gonna mean we get more I know the long one look about five mob boom pretty cool that’s a

Lot of stuff we having there got 14 diamonds geez alright so what I’m gonna do guys is let’s see if this lava is anywhere near dunks if not which it’s about halfway I’m gonna go ahead and wait for this lava to finish and then

What we can do is that we can make some netherrack with this that wasn’t going through our plan but because this is going so slowly only not point two we can make some netherrack and we can actually speed this up a little bit by putting the crucible over netherrack on

Fire and doing it that way so i’m gonna wait for this thing to finish and I’ll be back in a second okay so this thing is pretty much done we can grab this lava into the bucket and what we could do with this guy is if we head on down

Here to our star barrel throw the lava into the stump barrel and a right-click it with some redstone I think we only need one piece I’m just gonna do this boom we got ourselves netherrack nice so we could take this and we could throw this down at kind of

Wherever we want let me just quickly pick these guys up and throw them back in there so I think what I’m gonna do is just put this here for ease of access and stuff I’m gonna throw this thing down here and we’re gonna light that on fire

And that’s not gonna work is it I don’t want to break it we gonna do we’re gonna live with it put on a brick and lose its means wait and even longer so we’re gonna fill out there we’re gonna go ahead and grab our crucible back try and

Try and try not to lose it please oh okay we got it back we’re safe let’s cover this thing back up and get out of here all right so what we could do now is we can grab some Flint from now stairs we can make a foot

Steel we can light this nether back up and that fire will stay there forever and ever because that is what netherrack does so we’ll do this we will do this and we will head it over here light this thing on fire look there’s no wood

Around so it’s not gonna burn at all I’m gonna put this here just so I have something to rest against you can go there the crucible can go on top like that and that is now going a nice oh jeez that been that happened a lot my friend

Better not that better be the last time no it’s cruising along at still a pretty slow but a bit better and not 0.3 Miller buckets particular I was hoping to be a bit faster than that but hey it’s fine okay sure what we should be able to do now is

I’m gonna do again is I’m gonna go away and we’re away for this thing to fill up a couple of times actually and what I think I’ll do is I think I will go ahead and store it in this tanks we kind of don’t need that water to be in here so

I’m gonna break this actually range anyway let’s go back pressing hammer and what I’m gonna do is I can still hear fire do not like it one bit I’m gonna grab this guy I’m gonna move this tank and I’m gonna keep sewing live into it until

I have myself four buckets of lava for the FOB city that we’re gonna need and I’ll be back again in a second so quite a while later and we have our fourth and final needed bucket of lava which is in our tank and what we can start to do now

Is that we can grab this lava stick it into stone barrel again and then drop some water over the top of the stone barrel and what that’s gonna do is it’s going to produce obsidian for us that we can actually pick up using our bare hands without having to use a diamond

Pick which is kind of cool as you just saw there and that is how we are gonna go ahead and get ourselves all of our obsidian that we are ever going to need for the blob for the rough another we’re gonna need for that for the for the tank

So we’ll grab you again and basically it’s just just rinse it with people throw you in there we’ll do this again or grab you or grab down and almost time boom boom boom boom well nice so we now have ourselves four pieces of obsidian so whilst I was actually cooking up that

Four pieces of lava which actually took quite a while I I went ahead and actually start to process some of those orders so we have downstairs and I turned from gravel to sand from Santa dust and combine them with the dusts we have in this chest and we actually have

Quite a lot of stuff you could see in here we’ve now got 42 copper ingots we got 32 where feriss on the way 26 Gold 25 silver and my faith for a lead and 35 tin so we have quite a nice amount of stuff so I’m gonna go ahead and throw

Those in here with the wrestlers don’t forget that 57 copper nice I think we got like another five iron as well outside somewhere but we are using a lot of iron so it’s understandable but but yet now we got this thing what we can do

Is we can go ahead we could put this glass in like this could do this and we can do this and like it says too often water tanks nice so now that we got these guys what I think I’m gonna do is probably really quickly cut away again because I also

Shoot some more leaves and we now have how much do we have in there is that 16 I kinda doll of stop first like holding that grass we just put down because it’s kind of a waste of grass I’d like to feel to use that for seeds I’d like to

Be able to use it for animals Yussef all that kind of stuff so what I think I’m gonna do is we should have twenty-two dirt lying around somewhere in here not in there is it in there it is okay so our first seven dead so I’m gonna go

Ahead and fill up most of this the second sort of hole I’d like to leave this one here hopefully some animals will spawn if not we can deduce it from our seeds and stuffers so I’m gonna go ahead and fill this thing up and I’ll be back hopefully for the last time this

Episode at least in a second okay well I actually didn’t take that long I didn’t need to cut away but hey I did it anyway so the middle of this thing is I’ll have done this terrible haven’t I actually has no middle okay so the sprinkler is

Gonna be off center either way how if we do this so hey witch got to live with it so I think what I’m gonna do is I don’t think it matters how far up you put the sprinkler I’m gonna put the tank like here for now I could have two sprinklers

On that’s why what I’m gonna end up doing just for symmetry sake and but for now we could put this thing on here we could put that on there and we need to fill that thing up with water in order for it to start sprinkling a wish yeah

Let’s head down here let’s grab this guy and let’s see what this thing can do so basically what the sprinkler does is it acts kind of like bonemeal does it it will start to do this there you go I’m not sure how much water it uses up but

You can see it is using up the water there but well is not telling me how much it is using I don’t think do we have wheeler I’m not too sure I could see how much is like in this barrel I’m not sure if that’s ex nihilo and I

Thought it was Weller but apparently not but yeah it’s quite a quite animation he’s going backwards or forwards and if I was too quickly her one of these you would see that is actually hydrated is actually doing its thing and it’s really cool it also speeds up the growth a

Little bit of all the plants by default so it will make them grow a little bit faster just by being there but what you can do is if you want to speed it up just that a little bit more is you could put bonemeal in it so if I was to put

Bonemeal inside of the sprinkler it would speed this thing up even more it will make even faster make the crops grow faster than the only wood so I’ll put these down here now again we do have growth of the top there it makes me think we do have whele but well they

Usually shows you how much water the tank so I’m sure but as you can see is like little particle effects going around all over there and that’s because it’s been grown up a little faster and that’s quite a good thing because with the magical crops you actually

Can’t use bone meal on them if I was to take this bone meal and go ahead and try and and and use it on the magical crops it just wouldn’t work we should actually just did a lot of these battles kinda I don’t need them I feel a fella sing up

From here just go like this here we go boom boom boom this is last a little while hopefully next episode what we’ll do is we’ll set up a unlimited source of water which would be quite nice if we can just pump around to everyone so if we throw some

Bone meal into here we should see you start to use up the bone meal a little bit and make these things grow a tiny bit faster now they’re not the fastest growing things in the world they would be probably extremely overpowered if they did grow quite fast this thing is

Not really going to the bone meal that much it might be because this is not compatible I’m not too sure I didn’t think that was the case I can do a quick test actually I could just do this it’s not using it so what I’m gonna do is I’m

Gonna go ahead and I’m gonna plant down seeds in most of these so we can start making bread start making some real foods and their magical crops in the rest I probably get about half and half and we’re gonna kind of progress from that because what we can do is we can

Get our essence pops and then once we’ve got our essence seeds we got enough essence we can make coal crops start going for it’s like growing coal even and doing all that kind of stuff and it’ll be pretty cool these are all of zero percent nothing’s nothing square

This could take a while guys this could take a while but that’s fine we got all the time in the world let’s get rid of you you throw these guys down and we’ll do two more nice so yeah we kind of got most of stuff done I don’t know how

We’re doing on dirt here we’ve got a little bit I think left in the bowels now I play off like wild to pieces but what I probably do between episodes guys is I am gonna probably wait for this dirt to finish and fill up some more and

Flip into the fire through again I was this one before thing I before before I probably went around with for some more dev filling this thing over here and probably with a couple of magical shops things to where to finish up so we can get some of this thing on the word here

We got 14% and none of these are going but this is going a little bit forty percent is this any balmy oh it has it’s used a little bit of bone meal there okay it’s just one piece I think I’ve been I don’t even know group you go a

Little bit all I know if things will go faster while the sprinkles there and it looks kind of cool as well so that works for me so yeah I’m gonna sit here I’m gonna keep planting and replanting these things you’ll see if we look at things like the diamond seeds which it

Sounds kind of overpowered and in intent but if you have a look they require for extreme essence which each require for strong essence which is required for regular essence which each require for weak essence which each require one essence for essence dust around the weak infusion stone which again requires nine

Us into the diamond and and every single one of these I think only gives you one of one of those we guess ins so this magical crops is a bit slower to the rolling to the start but essentially it’s just it’s just free stuff isn’t it

We just gotta kind of pull it down and where we are farming farming materials we are somehow growing like call iron diamonds from from the ground which is kind of insane so yeah I’m gonna do all that stuff I’m hopefully gonna see some animal spawn over here and with that I
