Yo guys what is up my name is joe croft and i have this crazy experiment i’ve been wanting to try for such a long time now but before i get into all the little details let me give you guys some very interesting backstory you see in july 2017 I created the lost city of atlantis which was an underwater fantasy themed project except it wasn’t quite underwater back then there was no such thing as a minecraft aquatic update which meant that building underwater was incredibly challenging some blocks were just not compatible not to mention the fact The ocean was just so dark it made it almost impossible to record a decent video but guys it’s now been almost three years and we have had quite a few updates added to the game so i’m just really curious to find out what would happen if we were to flood atlantis With say a gigantic tsunami just to see what the project would look like if it were actually underwater so guys without further ado let’s begin today’s adventure [Applause] now guys i just might need your help you see a year after finishing this project i got an email from guinness world records To cut the story short they wanted to feature my atlantis project on this very book for apparently being the biggest underwater minecraft build which of course is amazing but honestly i find this really hard to believe not to mention the fact this build is technically not Under water but either way i sent him a few images as he requested and pretty much never got back to me after that now i know you guys do some incredible investigating when it comes to exposing scammers on fiverr but if anyone does have a copy of this Book please tag me on instagram if you actually managed to find this that would be absolutely incredible but besides that if we do actually want to flood this project we’re going to have to get rid of this fake ocean surface and start making some serious changes i Mean we might as well get carried away right so the very first thing we’re going to do is build a massive bedrock wall to surround the entire map the reason i’ve done this is so that we can use world painter to adjust the landscape and flood the entire map Without actually destroying atlantis now somehow this did work without many issues which is kind of crazy considering these sorts of transformations usually end up corrupting the world file or at the very least causing some serious damages to the map but to show you the full extent of this project I did make this render using a bit of photoshop just so you guys can get a rough idea of what we’re looking at right now because this map is absolutely ginormous and it’s impossible to capture the full extent of this build but guys unfortunately i did find one Issue seeing as the water level is so high up right around the edge of the map we have this huge ugly looking wall of water so as if building a bedrock wall wasn’t enough now i have to surround the entire ocean in a wall of mountains to at least make This look somewhat natural i did actually take my time with this and you can even see both oceans at different height levels which i think is kind of a pretty cool concept anyway But what i really do like about this is if we change the bedrock to glass you can now see the full extent of the ocean so let’s change the entire bedrock wall just to get a glimpse of what this looks like and i don’t know why i love this so much But it just kind of looks like we’ve transformed the ocean into a giant fish tank i just think it looks really interesting Now obviously i’m still curious to find out what would happen if i were to remove the entire wall but knowing minecraft physics it probably won’t do anything special but there’s still a few really cool ideas we just have to try before we get to flooding atlantis so yes We are going to be using world painter once again but trust me it’s going to be worth it i’ve actually created this separate world with these massive upside down mountains and covered each and every one of them with as much coral as possible just so That we can use them to expand on the landscape surrounding atlantis of course this took an insane amount of time and effort even with the use of commands but i just thought it would be such a cool idea if we make this project feel almost like a giant Deep ocean reef just as if atlantis has been completely surrounded in colorful coral blocks now i know some of you might be wondering why i’ve used stained clay to build the coral reef but don’t panic once we do flood atlantis i’ll just swap some of the stained clay with coral blocks because obviously Placing coral outside of water will just cause them to die now i don’t think the buildings themselves need much of a transformation i mean this project is just barely three years old so there’s not much i really want to change but i did add a bit more gravel to the Landscape as well as a few extra buildings but now now comes the moment of truth the moment we have all been waiting for i think it’s time we destroy the glass wall and by the way if this doesn’t work i do have the perfect tsunami backup Plan so don’t you guys worry it’s going to be epic [Laughter] i’m sorry the anticipation i mean it’s just these minecraft physics though okay so it’s just as i suspected the water has pretty much not moved an inch so guys we do have a plan b And this this is just insane to put things into perspective i had to use command blocks to make my very own tsunami and you guys know i am absolutely terrible with this kind of stuff and let’s just say i had a really rough time i think i got it to work Okay okay all i have to do is place this egg on the floor and it should spawn a tsunami I don’t know what’s going on i don’t know what’s going on i don’t know what’s going on what have i done oh it’s going to crash the game i have to kill it what is going on it was supposed to spawn a tsunami Stop and there it is behind the scenes footage i don’t usually showcase but i finally got this to work and this glorious squid egg should now automatically flood all the empty spaces this is actually a really good tool if you feel like flooding a small village but due to the sheer scale of Our atlantis project placing an egg on the edge of the ocean well it just causes what looks like a glob of liquid play-doh just slowly consuming atlantis at this point i was running out of options so i used commands to slowly replace the sky with water blocks and Even though my fps was pretty much non-existent the replay mod did a pretty good job at capturing the moment this is just crazy i mean villagers would usually just float to the surface but this wave was so massive they pretty much just drowned before ever making it to the top It’s so sad please pay your respects in the comments seriously though the view from above the ocean is absolutely insane the water did settle down eventually and even though there were some obvious imperfections i did manage to fix this without many issues despite the fact i had to manually click On every single stair block using a water bucket unfortunately though taking a dive into the ocean shows nothing but pure darkness which is not really what i was hoping for i could always get rid of the fog but it just doesn’t quite feel like you’re under water So i had to use some editing magic just to give you guys a better view of course i’ve also changed most of the clay blocks into coral and threw in some seagrass and final decorations This entire minecraft build is precisely what i was trying to achieve back in 2017 so i’m glad we finally got to flooding this project but there’s one final build which i think would make the perfect finishing touch and as you can see right at the top of This coral reef i’ve left a small flat surface just so that we can build ourselves a massive shipwreck i think this would make for the perfect final addition to this project and actually give you guys a decent place to spawn when you join into this world I’ve also hidden a few treasures just to get you started on your adventure and guys if you want to get your hands on this project make sure to check out my website
