Released yesterday for Stockholm Pride, the Marketplace pack lets players recolor bees with Pride flag designs and build boosted Harmony Hives that double crop growth rates along with other farm perks.
While plenty of brands slap rainbows on existing products this time of year, Mojang went further. The new Hive of Harmony add-on is free, ties into actual bee mechanics already in the game, and delivers measurable gameplay benefits instead of pure decoration.
How the Add-On Works
Feed flowers to bees while crouched to change their colors to match different Pride identities. Gather at least five variants in one hive and it upgrades to a Harmony Hive. Those hives speed up crop growth by 2x and provide other productivity bonuses. You can also spawn an Ally Queen bee and craft Pride flags to fly around your base.
The announcement leans hard on the metaphor of bee colonies huddling together, performing waggle dances to share resources, and protecting the hive. Mojang positions it as an extension of the Minecraft community they have built over the years. The add-on dropped right as Stockholm Pride events are happening, which explains the timing.
