Crazy now I know what many of you may be thinking or what many of you might be writing down in the comments right now this is just an April Fool’s update and that this portal was simply added as a prank for the April the first update but

Even if that does turn out to be true this is a massive step forward for years now people have been speculating about the possibility of The Ether dimension officially coming to Minecraft and this really really does begin to add a bit of credibility to those rumors I’m sure you

All know that King B dogs one of the lead developers of The Ether Dimension Mod does now work at Mojang and is a developer on Minecraft officially so does this have some part to play did King B dogs have something to do with this I’m not quite sure but as I said in

The intro this is the first time if not one of the first times that Mojang Studios have officially recognized The Ether Dimension and as you could see in that official image it was officially in the game even though it was in this snapshot which was made for a joke

Basically that does not take away from this moment that the Aether Portal was officially in Minecraft now then let’s look at the aftermath and some more official responses from The Ether Twitter account this was a response to a user saying it’s part of the new April Fool’s snapshot one of the various fun

And silly mechanics the snapshot allows you to vote on in the game this one is under other portal it does not actually add The Ether Dimension but it’s a fun reference I wouldn’t have expected from Mojang we then have this saying Brandon who is King B dogs is not the lead

Gameplay developer he is one of many members of the gameplay team and his involvement at Mojang following his departure from our Dev team in no way guarantees we will get references in official Minecraft media it is still a nice unexpected surprise so these tweets do confirm a few things here the first

One is that this most likely did not have anything to do with the official ether team unfortunately this is both good and bad news because it does show that the developers at maljang may be even King B dogs did just want to do a fun reference and a fun Easter egg for

The Ether Dimension which is obviously one of the most talked about and loved Minecraft mods of all times but this does also confirm something else which most likely is slightly bad news which is because this was not done in collaboration with the e13 working on the mod it most likely unfortunately

Does mean that there is no way this could be an official reference or teaser for The Ether Dimension coming to Minecraft now I know that is sad news the team did genuinely seem surprised that maljang added this reference to The Ether dimension in this new Minecraft

Snapshot and if that is true if the team was completely unaware of this if they did not know that maljang had this planned of course we can rule out the possibility of this thing a teaser for an officially for dimension in Minecraft this most likely was just a fun Easter

Egg teaser but still I do not want to fully rule out the possibility that the team is just kind of ignoring the fact that this could be a big teaser For an upcoming update but most likely I think if Mojang let’s say were planning on doing an Aether dimension in the future

In a future Minecraft update I would most likely assume that they would have to ask The Ether Dev team if if it was okay with them to officially add their Dimension to Minecraft but it’s a very complicated situation most likely I do think this was just a fun teaser from
