Guess which world we are back in that’s right the lava casting world and today we’re casting a small city of skyscrapers but before we can indulge in the fun of actually casting let me just go over the casting methods i’m gonna be using today so you guys can cast your Own city if you feel like it or go to this time stamp to skip the tutorial okay so the first method of casting that i’m gonna be showing is what i call the everything wall and the reason i call it that is because it can be used to cast Pretty much any kind of wall and the great thing about it is that it also works on bedrock edition of minecraft so that’s pretty great so this wall is just a smooth wall that you can cast into straight lines circles everything let me just show you so when you cast this wall We’re gonna place the lava on the bottom and then we’re gonna place the water on the side and just to contain my lava i’m gonna go down here and dig some holes because this is where the lava is gonna hit the ground and by digging a hole Into the ground we’ll make sure that it doesn’t spill out to the sides and make like a big slab of cobblestone that we do not want to look at let me also dig out the back side even if you don’t really need it okay so this wall is Going to be just a smooth wall and what we want to do as i said is just place lava underneath every single block so as you can see this wall obviously needs a lot of lava which means it’s great for creative casting but it’s not as great for a survival cast Okay so now we wanna place our water and what we’re gonna cast is this section of lava that is right here so only this third of this thick wall is actually gonna be cast and we’re gonna do that by placing water on all these blocks because it’s gonna flow Down and cast this section so let me just show you that and there we go now we have our wall okay the reason why i call this an everything wall is because this wall does not only make straight walls it also makes a bunch of other walls so let Me just show that alright so now we have a shape which could be obviously a skyscraper and we’re just gonna dig out our spill control on the ground below okay so the shape i’m digging around it is really just like if you imagine you placed a block out here on the outside Of every single yellow block until you couldn’t see the yellow at all from the outside and then you like projected where the blue blocks are down on the ground those are the blocks you actually want to dig out right below because that’s where your lava is gonna hit the Ground okay i think that should be right let’s just place love on the other side of all of these great and then we can cast just on the outside here and voila we have a skyscraper and i messed up somewhere over here obviously this wall is really great Because you can see it makes nice straight walls it can be used on both bedrock edition and java edition but it does take quite a lot of lava so obviously we’re also gonna take a look at some other types of walls the next type of skyscraper i’m gonna be making Today is gonna be a tiered skyscraper for these actually pretty simple you just build a tower up up here we’re going to place the water on top then we’re going to place the lava and we only need one lava source for this and it’s going to flow down and we’re going To have some tears so first here let’s place it like five blocks down and then we have a tear here now obviously i want my tears to be square tears so what you want to do is when lava flows down it will always try to flow in the fastest Way down so you can’t just make your tear a square like this because when the lava flows down it will just flow out and not to the sides because to flow out and down it only takes one block out and then it goes down whereas to the sides It would have to flow to the side and then one more as you can see it’s not gonna actually flow onto this block so to fix this we’re gonna move these blocks one down and trick the lava to flow down here but by doing this when the lava flows down No matter what side it goes to it will flow out and one down immediately so even like if it flows here it flows out and down if it flows here it flows out and down so now the lava when it hits this block will flow to all three Directions so we can place the lava again and as you can see it now flows everywhere and wait a second it also joins together so now we have the next layer so for the next year obviously it’s going to be out there where the lava was flowing which is just one block Further out and again if we did this even though we’ve now directed this lava out so that it flows everywhere here it would still have an empty block here as we saw which means this one would have to flow one out and then one more out to Go down so this lava is not going to go on this block therefore again we just move the corners down and i think you get the principle basically you just have to always move your corner blocks one down so you trick the lava to flow Out there and then out again and now we can basically just make all the tears and i can show you what this will end up looking like okay so now our christmas tree of a building is ready to be cast you just place your lava up here and wait for it To flow all the way down and it should flow nicely unfortunately this particular type of building does not cast the same way on bedrock edition so you can’t use this method forecast okay we’re ready to cast it and let’s see place our water all right perfect so now we got our Little tower here let me get rid of that and then i would as a finishing touch just to get some stairs probably and some it’s a little 2012 i say that in like every single lava casting video but hey it does look pretty nice with windows the next type of skyscraper We’re gonna make it’s quite similar to the one we have next to us in the way that it only uses one lava source but that also means that usually casting these types of buildings don’t really work on bedrock edition better organization lava casting it’s just a Little wonky so this one is just gonna be more of a straight down building but we’re gonna make some fun little things on the walls so that the walls aren’t just straight walls because that’s a little bit boring so we’re gonna again have the water on top and the lava Underneath this block so for this one we want obviously a roof first that like directs the lava outwards and then we want some walls further down that has some funky patterns so let us do the roof and again keep in mind the way lava flows it always tries to flow Like the fastest way down so you want to like make sort of a pyramid shape that is like on a diagonal if that makes sense okay so what i’ve filled here looks a bit like a mess of blocks but it’s really just the underside of where the Roof is going to be so if you imagine this block being up here is going to be lava it’s going to always spill to the quickest way to get down so obviously it’s going to spill here then it’s going to go all outs all three thighs and They’re going to spill and hit the different blocks and it’s all going to be directed out and when we get down to this tier here it’s going to spill out and you can see there’s a block right there which means when this block spills out here goes down it’s gonna also spill Out which means we’re not just gonna get a straight square box around it but we’re gonna get some lines that goes out here and have like a straight one thin layer of cobblestone going down let me just carve this out so the building should get a shape like this is pretty Much what i’m saying let us try and actually cast it and see if i’ve done it correctly so as you can see as it flows down now it’s going to hit these blocks that are going to direct it outward and it’s going to get like these little shutouts On the sides of the building which is going to make it look a little bit more interesting than that wall over there but let us just cast this building yeah so as you can see we have these nice little jet outs and also our roof is looking pretty decent and symmetrical all over So that is pretty neat if you instead wanted this type of wall but with a flat roof you can just do the outline of the walls you want so if you have just a square like this and you only place lava unlike the underside of every what is That third block with two blocks in between and let it all flow down like that you’re also going to get a similar type of the regular wall that has these jet outs and you can of course place the lava sources anywhere you want you don’t have to place them in the Corners you could also place them in here and you can either place the water on top then you’re gonna cast both the inside and the outside or you can place the water on the outside of the box and you’re only gonna cast the outside of the tower so i’m just Gonna place it out here anyways these are the basic ways i’m gonna be casting my different skyscrapers today i hope it all made sense the thing i forgot to mention was that the reason i also showed this one is because this method works on bedrock edition whereas this Method only works on java edition so that’s why both methods are relevant now let’s get into building i have seriously missed this world and in the time since my last lava cast i’ve gotten a few comments telling me to use actual scaffolding as scaffolding which does seem pretty logical it’s very easy to Get rid of once you’re done with it and it doesn’t seem to burn even when it’s right next to lava and yet i must confess it didn’t take me very long to pull out the regular dirt because i reached the limit of how far out you can place scaffolding and i couldn’t really Figure out how to mitigate this and make it go further so that i could get the big squares i needed so yeah i’m sorry you guys i did use scaffolding to make all the high pillars but i kind of used dirt for the rest so yeah anyways the First skyscraper you saw me cast was using the third method i showed in the tutorial although i did alter the building from the tutorial by giving it four extra spires and it was actually a pretty easy addition that you could even just build by hand or cast it as i did This scraper was made using the similar method that also works on bedrock edition and i didn’t really have any system in choosing which method i was using i was just trying to not make the buildings look too boring or too similar so then i went for my first tiered Scraper and i don’t really know how i always do this but somehow i managed to miscount somewhere and mess up the tears and i fixed it pretty quickly and the building ended up having four tiers instead of three the next skyscraper is obviously made using the good old Everything wall and as you can see i started by casting the tallest part of the building before adding the little towers on the sides and that’s just like a general rule i would give to always start on the tallest point of your cast now politely ignore the fact that i also Added an even taller point to the building thanks and then i thought it would look cool to have another tiered scraper all the way out on the tip of the little jet out on the island oh yeah and on the next building i did something that i didn’t show in the tutorial but That you can totally also do which is first to cast the shell of your build and then cast something over top to add some more dimension to it and now it was time for the next step making this build not look like it was pulled straight out Of a 2012 survival server by adding some good old detailing i started by adding windows and some stone bricks to the tallest building and now i have another confession to make because i decided to get some help from one of my bestest friends called a world idiot just to Remove some of the repetitiveness from the process and because it was a lot faster that way but i would still say most of the detailing was done by hand and the thing that i did that you can’t really tell in the video was placing black concrete behind all the windows And place a sea lantern right above to make it look like there was light in the buildings i also gave every building a unique color of glass for their windows just to put the teensiest pop of color into the build because otherwise it would just be a big gray mess and i Think it was a good decision even if the glass is very hidden on some of the buildings when it came to the two-tiered skyscrapers i actually decided to give them the same detailing the bigger one just got slightly taller windows but since they are on opposite sides of the Little city i didn’t think it really made it look too repetitive so it was fine now i’m not equally happy with all the skyscrapers my favorites are definitely the ones with yellow and magenta windows maybe because they’re the ones i think look most like actual skyscrapers i don’t know after finishing All the detailing i pulled out some more world edit and copy pasted some of the skyscrapers to make the build look a little bit more like an actual city and i also changed the height of the building with the blue windows because i thought it took up way too much of the Focus when you viewed the build from the scene and then the build was actually done and i think it turned out looking pretty fine especially at night when you can see all the light in the windows but yeah i hope you enjoyed this revisit into the casting world and i’ll see you In the next video you Video Information
