can check out the specific topic you want to hear about but anyway here’s the behind the scenes enjoy everyone hello everyone I’m kibbutz and I’m the captain and welcome to a very Special video AHA welcome to the behind the scenes of realistic minecraft three scenes yeah and we’re basically what we’re going to show you is everything that goes on to making a realistic Minecraft and it’s pretty similar to one and two um most of the things are the same but For this one we kind of just went you know overboard we we did more we we our production value was higher we you put more effort into it see it again just for the reference because it’s really cool man super awesome cool to be honest it’s awesome yeah yeah as Captain rush was saying we really Tried our best with this it took us a long time thank you for being so patient but oh yeah definitely worth it oh yeah man I like it well it’s it’s really cool and and basically what we wanted to do with what this one was we took four one And two and basically the story behind one and two was kind of it has a sequence like it it they can go off of each other like you watch one first and then you watch the second one and it makes sense in the first one he’s trying To find out what minecraft is because the whole premise of realistic minecraft is like what if a human was going in what if a human like morphed into the game or or like teleported into the game what would that be like because there are some things in Minecraft that are pretty unrealistic So so that’s kind of why we we named a realistic minecraft – um and so one is basically him trying to find out what what the game is and trying to play it for the first time as a human and the second one is uh him you know doing the Basics building a house and mining and for this third one we wanted it to continue off of the second one so in the second one he goes mining in the third one he comes out of a mine so we wanted to kind of transition them really well But at the same time we wanted to make three feel like like a what’s its own thing like you didn’t have to watch one and two to understand it and I think we got that across pretty well like it’s it could stand by itself absolutely yeah Because we had a lot of new people watching it as well yeah and so basically how we did number three was we the first thing you got to do when you do any of these realistic minecraft is come up with an idea um kind of like a Basic idea of what is going to happen exactly and with this one the last two didn’t have much con combat so we wanted to find a way to incorporate combat and some of the new things that are in Minecraft because the other two were done a little while ago mmm so yeah like Horses and we wanted to try get like a bow and like sword fights and all this kind of stuff in there to make it more action-packed yeah that’s that’s kind of like what what we noticed most of the comments were because we did ask you guys to put you know your suggestions of What three should be like and most of them were like hey do this like fight and like fight this ever fight the dragon or fight this and it’s like most some more like about fighting so we’re like yes let’s do fighting let’s do something that’s you know that has Action and and that really can and we could do these things with like a bow because it’s like it’s pretty different how you do a bow in real life then in Minecraft and it’s pretty different how you swing a sword you don’t swing it from your face forward so it’s pretty Different how you fight in real life than how you fight in Minecraft because you don’t kick in minecraft but yet that was the best part of a realistic like f3 yeah so with the idea of trying to get a big fight involved we thought of the villager like the village sees it sieges When a bunch of zombies go into villages and stuff mm-hmm so we decided to include a village and then trading came up and one thing led to another and uh-huh it’s how it kind of worked out yeah and the main thing that we wanted to do with realistic minecraft or the Main thing we look for is things that happen in the game that we can interact because that’s the main thing that it’s mainly I was I look for is ways that your hands can interact within the game and each opportunity we got for something to interact with we took it For example washing your hands in the game you don’t do that in the game but it’s so cool seeing you know that transition of him with a hands dirty and him putting his hands inside the water in the game real hands in the game and just taking all that dirt away it’s Really really cool and we we love you know and and that’s what we looked for ways that ways that your hand can interact with because of course that’s the whole thing with realistic minecraft you have the hands there and it’s like oh the real things going on aha so That’s mainly what we do when when the way we do it is we storyboard it so we start drawing all these scenes and we come up with a beginning and a middle and an end and we start drawing it out and as you see here our drawings are not The best and we don’t we don’t plan on just all the drawings to be you know spot-on but they’re basically to to get your idea straight and get these random things out of the way like random problems that we might have out of the way like transitions or like what would Happen after this because sometimes an idea doesn’t really evolve will in your mind we have to put it somewhere and the best way to do that was a storyboard exactly it also gives us a good idea of what props we’ll need but we’ll get into that later yeah yeah the props that’s Pretty much the other cool thing man oh yes a Proserpine yeah oh yeah so and and yeah the the storyboard we don’t we stick to it but we don’t follow it a hundred percent yeah we maintain you know the main ideas but we we play with It like we leave it free hmm and because in the storyboard you’re not going to see the hand washing because that came up actually while we were filming yeah the actual game footage so like ideas come up and we take them and things are actually different from the Storyboard that you see in the final thing but yeah like things change from from then to yeah and very funny ways as well yeah yeah yeah so the next thing that happens after we storyboard um the next thing we did was we filmed all the game footage yes Mm-hmm and that was that was pretty fun yeah that’s fun we made a little village we populated it and kind of laid out the from the storyboard what it would look like in the game uh-huh so we put little markers around of where we had to go what’s gonna be where mmm And it was a lot of fun yeah yeah and actually the the hill or I’m getting ahead of myself ah the the stuff you see around the landscape it we actually kind of modified it we may we took out you know tons of trees here we put trees there we Made a hill out of nowhere we made we put this hail so you wouldn’t see like the distance because there was I think there was a yeah there’s an ocean behind the village yeah there’s an ocean but we want to kind of have it with an enclosed Feel aha and a desert and it does it feels a bezel yeah luckily yellow desert oh my god I know and we just yeah and we closed it off and we kind of made a hill so you wouldn’t see past it because one we didn’t want you to get distracted From like a desert in the distance or like the ocean all the blue that you would see but we wanted you to feel kind of enclosed inside kind of like get into the world and into the village and we did that well I think that really goes And that all that happens while we you know do all of these this building for the set pretty much yeah also with building the set a lot of zombies spawn in and there’s a lot of mobs that come into the game while we’re recording so Once we had to set up a lot of command blocks and other things in order to have that happen at specific times so yeah a funny thing during the filming was while the filming was going on Captain fresh was the player that was running around actually getting the footage yeah well I Was invisible and I was trying to sneak around pressing all these buttons and running things in at specific times basically you work you were doing that you were playing command control yeah command control yeah all these buttons yeah some of them spun some B’s the other ones father colum and Everything and um yeah it was pretty crazy and oh my gosh the zombie AI redonkulous because we wanted to have the perfect shot where the zombie is kind of like coming towards into the village and sometimes when I spawned it in it just decide oh hey let’s just not Go there that is the hardest part because we can’t really you know tell zombies where to go right they all do they all have their their own weird got their own AI so they all decide where to go on their own mm-hmm and Gollum looks all pretty clear are You in survival yeah put me in survival hot enough I mean you’re in survival all right oh there’s a couple more guys phoom phoom good good alright I didn’t see him kill anything by the way you do I guess that brings us into the building of the Props we need so the props for this were the sword the bow we had the bread emeralds diamonds there’s quite a few actually there what there were a lot yeah easy there’s a rope for oh yeah the rope uh uh bread oh yeah the bread oh man There’s just so many little things but we laid them all out in the storyboard a funny thing actually with the bread we actually want to have wheat and we’re going to go like into a field to find little bit grass just don’t really tall grass yeah yeah but we couldn’t actually Find the proper looking grass so yeah and and I think the other thing is that one it was we it was with the grass is green yeah and we shot this on a green screen so if you know video if you click on a green background to get rid of it It’s gonna get rid of the grass as well umm just saying so uh that was totally not an option so we had to really replace our wheat that we traded ah to bread and I think it really worked out much better it did another thing with The bread though we bought it kind of really the impromptu because we’re out driving around shopping for all this props we needed and we’re like oh dang we can’t get grass let’s go get bread so we didn’t know we were gonna get KFC man oh Yeah oh yeah that was for the food yeah that was for the first trade yeah for the first time aha but we wanted the KFC kind of bucket yeah but a red one the red one but the KFC we went he didn’t have the red buckets apparent all the KFC’s dude yeah didn’t have the red bucket it was like Thanksgiving season or something I don’t know yeah so he went from the grass to KFC to the bread finally to bread yeah and the bread was actually pre sliced so when we were filming we actually had to glue the bread together Glue sandwiches and now oh yeah we use that now it’s so funny yeah it was it wasn’t the best and it didn’t stay together that well either so as soon as you through some of them like when you through them they would like break instantly so it was it was kind of hard But it worked out at the end man you can’t really see that yeah it did work out mm-hmm so I guess that leads us to the main props the bow and the sword and all pickaxe I’ll just quickly mentioned that’s just from one and two yeah that’s From one two or two two and and the what was it and coal as well we got coal that’s just plain charcoal yeah we bought yeah um so the the sword and the bow and arrow those man those are those were really cool props um they were the weapon so they’re the Star of the the whole video mm-hmm and the sword well let’s go with the bow first a bow we actually got at a dollar store yeah and we modified it to look like the bow in the game um so the bow that we bought was all black oh man I Think was it all black yeah it was all black it was all black and we need it brown and silver because that’s exactly the one and if we saw something that was different than the one in the game then it would be really weird hmm so we had To find a way to make the one we bought look brown and silver yeah so what we ended up doing was we bought modeling clay yeah and we put modeling clay around the Shou Bou haha so kind of looked like it was wooden or something like that yeah And then cuz we weren’t gonna get that from paint ya know the bow looked really it was really like flat and weird had all these lines and didn’t look like a Minecraft bow yeah not at all so yeah and then we bought a spray paint as well and we actually spray painted The clay on the bow yeah to be brown so that was really weird and then it was it was brown already but it didn’t match the ripe Brown it was it was really light brown yeah so we had to paint it to make it darker and uh yeah for the sword Oh buddy oh the sword was so fun so the sword was the best thing to make and I actually have them I add the bow and the sword hanging here in my in my room and they look amazing dude um you know you’ve seen oh yes so the sword was the Best thing and I admire that thing because it looks amazing mm-hmm and we built it ourselves because we weren’t gonna find a sword that looked like a Minecraft sword but real and it wasn’t pixelated and it was the right size yeah we thought it would almost be better just to make it out From scratch essentially ha yeah so we bought a piece of plywood yep we and spray painting endless very paint and we also bought this leather looking thing for the handle yeah and we basically made it ourselves so we grabbed these like power tools we started cutting the Wood we started we started getting to be the right shape we wanted it to be like a stone sword so we didn’t want it sharp but we wanted to look like a sword and and for it to have all these you know rounded edges and Kind of like dips yeah kind of like as well use is kind of not made by a professional just a real raw basic kind of sword and a stolen base only get that stone texture in there absolutely and yeah and for the handle it was kind of Difficult but we grabbed two pieces put them together made the handle and then just put it all together and it looks amazing dude yeah look it took us a well two hours though took us two hours yeah I think was it the birch tree the prop Date took us it it took us at least six hours five hours the prop they took us six six six hours eight hours something like that yeah yeah and that was like finding the props and making them as well right yeah yeah everything everything so at the end of that day Which had out all the props we had everything ready to be filmed except for the sword the sword we built it one day and then we had to paint it and fix it tweak it that uh some other day yeah so is the only thing that took us a Long time but that’s of course because we made it from scratch so yeah I mean that’s that um I’m super happy with him yeah well word totally didn’t get as much screen time as week and i hoed like well we made it and then we realized hey We’ve put all this effort into this awesome sword and it slowly used like three times or something a couple couple times yeah we’re very short amount of time but then again you aren’t just walking with a sword yeah we’re so it made sense and I guess we’ll go group it Will give it more screen time and some other realistic yeah exactly spoilers spoilers mmm um so yeah let’s go to into the filming process man the filming process oh my gosh so filming was difficult and this is like the real filming like with real hands in the game kind of thing and Camera and everything mm-hmm so the first thing we do is basically set up everything so we needed this table to put all the props on and we put all our props on this table the ones we were going to use so he quickly like put his Hands away and grabbed up and and and uh right now just letting you know the hands that you see here are actually Kevin’s his hands supercool soap of masculine hands of battle and and bravery um so yeah we we take we took we have that table there For all the props and the hardest part for this was the fact that the hands are kind of close to the camera because the camera is on its chest it’s like leading right on his chest and it has all these chords you know power chords and the chords to go to this Monitor and everything and it’s like wired and he has his camera in front of him and he has to like put his hands out as far as he can URLs are gonna be really blurry and close mm-hmm um and so you had to like get your hands out Really far it was very uncomfortable to like I bet I was essentially just hugging in this camera against my chest you guys reaching out as far as I could like huh and then I was looking at this screen with the game footage and the green screen to see my if my hands were In please yeah so it’s doing all this and it’s just oh my gosh it is so ridiculous had to do so many retakes it was oh oh yeah man what oh yeah folder full of retakes and the same thing basically me yelling do this do that yeah now hands up down Oh Grab it Oh sword and swing the fighting scene especially oh man goodness gracious crazy like every single shot had to be I did this action where I had to bring I brought my hand back behind my back I don’t think it really showed in the final product but To basically simulate me bringing a arrow from like a hover behind me and bringing it back to my bow mm oh it’s just crazy and then getting the timing just perfect yeah from English it’s and that was for the battle scene the rest of it was kind Of kind of chill it was it wasn’t that bad yeah um but yeah it was it was it was difficult it was cool lighting a hand that’s really close to the camera it was difficult and especially on the green-screen because we used a green Screen and it was you I had to place the lights in a specific way or else you’re going to see the shadows on the green screen and that’s terrible for for that’s terrible for this it’s terrible for green screen because the shadows make it harder to green screen like Harder to take it away so that’s what we used how we did it and it was it was it was kind of hard kind of hard yeah it took it were we yeah we were there we’re at captain freshest I was point 2 a.m. – way yeah man Yeah because we’re like we have before getting it done because we have to finish it again months since we started this and then we’re getting this part done we’re going to get this video out now at one point I think we said the beginning of February yeah so yeah and We’re aiming for that but things happen of course yeah and and it was yeah and and which has got it done because we also if we like did it on another day we had to reset up everything like a set and the green screen and all these Monitors and everything and it was it was a paint it one bit of a pain so we had to get it done that day and it’s funny because that’s how things work in an actual shoots man like the IRL filming yeah that’s how things work you Get it done um and you don’t stop until you’re done and it sometimes it goes like 4 a.m. 5 a.m. oh yeah and everyone’s still there and all these light people the directors cameras actors it’s really paint so that’s kind of what we dealt with and we lived it man lived the dream Oh yeah so going on to the next part the editing editing editing was a lot yeah it was a lot um and this was mostly myself yeah uh yeah I did all of the editing for it it was a couple weeks um for our YouTube channel I was editing Just the our usual videos and Captain fresh was focusing solely on this mm-hmm and oh it turned out so well but anyway continue yeah uh so yeah it was there was a lot of things to do like the first thing I had to do was uh was I he’d temporarily I keyed the Green-screen the King the green-screen is kind of hard especially when the lighting is is not proper and we don’t have a lot of lighting so we our green screen wasn’t well lit and it means it has a lot of dark spots and that makes it really hard but I was able to manage And push and green-screen got keyed and then after that we synchronize this thing and synchronising is so much work and it’s like getting everything at the right times everything like what he does the actions if he’s standing there whacking away his pic he has to be Whacking away his pic when we film it it’s not exactly how it should be and there’s a lot of cuts in the filming like he would do this part and then we’d stop recording and do the next part and then stop and then start again and stop And then this so we had to like or I had to synchronize all the actions with the proper video and they have to be exact exact and also every time my hands go down mm-hmm we basically cut like the filming of the hands and then when they Come back up again that’s a whole new scene yeah so there’s not that to sync and then there’s multiple cakes like we’ve done some things that were we thought were okay we did that two or three times yeah so of course sketch has to go through each of those and pick Which one is the right one and it’s funny we didn’t do this professionally professionally you would label although once you would do yes like this is scene one and then we’re gonna do take one and then we would write down or you we should we should have written down the Like Oh for scene three take two were you gonna use take two not three but when I grabbed it I didn’t do any of that all i l we did was okay that was good yes it hurt and that and so when I brought all the footage done all you see Is all these squares of green screen and all these hands random hands who knows from what part they’re from so that was that was a pain so basically one of those things where it’s like it has a I don’t know what does it look like it’s a The movie Oh a marker marker movie marker thing yeah like pick the clapper yeah clapper oh yeah yeah it makes that noise yeah um yeah and that explains what scene is being shot and everything but but none of that it wasn’t that mainstream we redid it we didn’t like Use that much production value and and for that you’d really need an assistant as well for somebody to be writing all this down because what I was doing I was focusing on the hands and if they were being moved properly like in the frame and if the like the action was good or Not or like what should be done better it’s like no your hand came in from the right let’s have come in from the bottom and things like that that it’s like the I was keeping my eye on so it made it difficult for editing yeah um but yeah The next thing that was done was color correction so I had to correct the color for all of these and that is that is something that kind of makes a game and the hands go smoothly together mm-hmm so it basically if the shot in them in The video and the game is at nighttime and you have these hands that are you know what lid in a studio and they’re like they’re just hands they’re not going to look the same because it’s like you have these hands and you have this game footage and it does not going to Look the same so when it was night I had to like make the hands look like it’s at night so I had to make them darker um when it’s a day I brought up the the brightness up on the hands and I brought like the contrast and all these things To make it like look like exactly the same and same thing for like when he’s in the cave I wanted it to not have contrast and like a little bit of brightness and all these things that you know make them blend together like they’re shot in the st. like the hands Are actually in the cave yeah things like that yeah and so that’s a whole thing that happens as well after that I went into sound designing so I like for every action I put sound effects for every thing I put like for every villager that was around I put you know Their sound I’ll be walking all the footstep the horses and the pick and the sword and I actually mixed in sound effects from Minecraft and real life sound effects like for the boat you hear this from from it like like flying and that’s something that’s not in the game But since it’s a real bow it felt it felt right to use a real life sound effects elute Lee and so they’re all kind of blended in together I think for that bow sound effect I have like five sound five different sounds layered or four different sounds layered on top of Each other to make that perfect sound mm-hmm and same thing for the sword and all these things that it’s just a bunch of sound effects going together to making this another thing that had to be done was all the heads-up display oh yes it heads-up display and that’s like all The hearts and everything I didn’t have them saved for some reason they’re not from from realistic minecraft wanting to I didn’t have them so I had to redo them remake you know this realistic heart the KFC bucket and then all these items that he uses since when we shoot and this Kind of you know we were releasing this we’re telling you guys this we shoot everything in f1 oh yeah because we just want to have the hands in game because we’d have to cut those out as well and exactly it’s so there’s no heads-up display or anything so we add that in Post we add that in while editing so that’s what something you got to do by hand I have to grab you know the pickaxe icon the diamond icon the number as soon as he grabs it I have to change the number to this and to that and all of That has to be done by hand so that’s another whole you know time that that’s done oh and the selector also moves yeah yeah all of that we had on the bottom there little shyer moves over everything for whatever item you have in your hand how many items are the Ware has when They’re henry luce or trading all that yep all of that and you know which spaces are empty which one should be full how many arrows is he gonna have all of that is done in this part well I’m the heads up display after that I go Into the music I get the right music for all these things the action scenes and and you know the for when he’s not doing anything and then you know when he sees something like the zombie there was the sound that was like it was really cool And and the thing about this is that we have to find the right music it has to be like in the right mood perfect mood and like in the perfect intensity for like the fighting scenes dill and all and the and we had to make sure and this Is so important that it’s not copy written and that we have a license to use music because man if we if it’s gets taken down that would go get strikes it’s like a whole work gone down the drain um but yeah I hope we found music It was good it was perfect it fit and it made it really good made the whole thing really good and the most important thing something that goes through this whole thing is the voice of the person oh he was that person by the way well I know Was you good I don’t I don’t think so I think what’s you so the I did the voiceover for it and um we were thinking like hey kibbutz’s hands are gonna be in it should he do the voice-over and it’s like no nobody knows it’s give The sans let’s just do my voice yeah but at the same time we didn’t want to keep it inconsistent from all the other realistic Minecrafts we wanted to make it feel like it was the same person so we it was the same person I did it and The good thing is that my voice is now better it than it was a year to a girl another was released either like how I did the voice acting for that other one bled out for this one I liked it I liked it it was cool it’s good you did a Really good job as well man oh yeah excellent job Thanks yeah it’s getting like the right mood for for all of the parts and like you know being angry or being scared or like surprised or like you know mad at a villager all these things that you have To like do and make it feel because they can’t see you they have to they only hear you exactly you have the hands for a bit of a reference and you have to really say like speak in like tones and specific tones like voice acting has to Be spot-on because reason it’s audio and a little bit of hand movement that’s it yeah and then we didn’t have to get that across and actors in movies they use their face expressions to like really back up what they’re saying like if he’s scared you see his face he doesn’t Really have to make a sound with his mouth but he’s like scared you see his face but here you don’t see any faces all you see these hands and the rest of it has to you have to be convinced by this voice that you know he’s actually Scared so that’s like a whole load on the voice person but that was it was cool I just you know I just let my expressions out there for you guys and and I think it came out really well man yeah yeah and for all the other parts I Had to add special effects to the voice like when he’s in the cave I added it like a little bit Oh like that reverb so it sounded like he’s in a cave so if like you listen to the video Midway and then you go to the very beginning and Sounds like he’s actually in a cave if you if when he goes on to the ravine you hear an echo like he echo echo echo so that’s all really cool and then how it like goes away as soon as he’s walking outside the cave all those effects are done to the Voice as well to make it cool so all of this everything that I just talked about from the green-screen to the syncing all of this was done in those like two to three weeks that I was just you know focusing on the editing and it’s a lot Of work but it was really good man video saying Kim amazed me highly encouraged after hearing all this look at the video again and like really look for the details because it was insane I’ve watched it two or three times myself just to kind of pick out Couch and freshers little details he put in there I just every little thing like it’s just so good and polished the excellent end product yeah I’m really really happy with it so I hope you guys like this behind-the-scenes I hoped you
