Sjin – Minecolonies – Byzantine #1 EPISODE ONE

Oh hello my dudes and welcome to episode one of our bantine Colony playthrough so basically yeah if you’re wondering where all the mods 9 has gone don’t worry we’re still playing that but I realized that all the mods 9 is a really big mod pack and mine colonies is a really big

Mod so what I wanted to do was split the series in all the mods 9 we’re going to go to a more all the mods focused playthrough and that doesn’t leave much room for mine colonies which I still love so we’re going to create this brand new series don’t mind me just punching

Some wood where we focus on mine colonies because I love mine colonies so much much and if you love mine colonies as well this is the perfect place for you to get started in the description below you have the version of the mod pack that I’m using we’re still using an

All the mods 9 mod pack because it works as a great base for mine colonies but also I’ve added some custom mods that you can find in the description also down there you can find the world seed but if you don’t want to look there we can type

Seed and there you go that’s the seed so if you download the same version of all the mods 9 that I’m using put that seed in and we should be on the same world so bisane is a very interesting style of colony to build you’ll see some examples

Of the buildings you have to build in the intro but it’s very Sandstone heavy and also very clay heavy so it’s advised that if you want to make a bisontine colony you want to settle pretty near a desert and as luck would have it we spawned right in the middle of a desert

Man it’s like fate but I don’t want to build the colony on a desert because being on a desert it’s kind of well deserts a bit dull there’s just lots of Shrubbery uh some some weird palm trees nothing that cool so we’ve got to go and find a nice

Place to set up and that’s pretty important right because finding the right place for your colony is essential for that colony’s success now also bisontine has a lot of really cool Harbor buildings and districts and a lot of coastal buildings so we also really

Do want to be on the coast oh man look at that water amazing I love shaders so where are we on the map well we’re lucky enough to be right by the sea oh there’s a massive Temple over there so we can raid that maybe later on for the

Prismarine we’ll need oh but let’s go over here and check out this pyramid this looks freaking amazing wait no hang on a sec we got to survive the first night that means we’re going to need some wool for a bed or maybe a sleeping bag because that’s a bit more realistic

So I’ve got some wood now punched that let’s make that into some useful things first of a crafting table but that’s not good enough we’re going going to need a crafting table on a stick boom very useful I haven’t put a key for that yet so we’re going to keep it on

Our hot bar for now but if you want to you can put that in your curios and use it on the go if you’re playing through on mine colonies you’re going to want to build a supply Camp first of all and a supply Camp most of the time comes with a whole

Bunch of tools you can use to get started W look at this cool little kind of Gyer anyway the two most important things for us going forwards right now are food and wool so let’s go grab them oh no oh no why did I eat Nightshade it’s deadly who knew okay so

Words of the wise don’t eat nightshade berries there we go our first customer a sheep so what we will do is make a sword I think because we’ll get tools from the supply Camp I’m fairly sure but what we won’t get is a sword so Boom come here

You oh yeah that’s only one piece of wool we should get some more so on the hunt for sheep and yeah Journey map has our back some sheep over there let’s go and grab them oh man it’s so exciting to have a new playthrough so

Exciting to have a new new series and I love doing episode ones it’s a bit addicting though because you don’t want to keep starting new series so what I want you guys to put in the comments section is your favorite style of building from The Real World

Cuz there’s all kinds it can be like you know Japanese pagodas Venice is a very interesting kind of City Style let me know what your favorite kind of buildings are in real life I know it’s a bit of a weird question but I don’t know

For me I’m all about kind of Tuda style houses I think they look great okay here we go the last sheep amazing so six wool we’re going to use this to make a sleeping bag very simple but very effective change the recipe here boom and there we

Go we can survive the first night but but now we’re going to need some food to make sure we don’t starve and a great source of that is berries so hold down ultim mine and yeah let’s just clear out some grass we might get some cool seeds oh we got some Demon

Seeds and we also might get some berries oh but be careful because using ultim mine does drain your hunger oh God yeah oh man oh I’m going to die wait no raw muton to the rescue it’s not ideal but it’ll keep us going for now so yeah when you just

Start do be careful of using ultim mine because it does drain your hunger like crazy so did you know what what I feel like I’m missing is some kind of pocket furnace I want to be able to cook my mutton on the go but alas I cannot

Because I don’t want to spend time putting down a furnace and waiting around I don’t want to set up camp just yet so in a perfect world I could run around and cook food in like a pocket furnace so if any mod makers are watching make a pocket furnace that that sounds pretty

Amazing so another great source for early game food is raiding it from Villages and it looks like we have some kind of Village over here on the map so we’re going to plow through this Lush desert and see what they have to offer and Villages are also a great place to

Find other starter loots that’s going to be really handy especially when you’ve just started your Playthrough G raw mutton is not an ideal food in fact in real life I definitely don’t suggest you eat any raw mutton I mean first off where are you getting raw mutton from anyway but yeah don’t eat it it’s horrible so it does say you should build

Your bantine Colony near to a desert on the coast and while there’s some suitable areas around here they just don’t look good enough we’re going for full Aesthetics The bisontine Colony style looks incredible and I don’t want to waste that by building on just a boring flat area or in desert so we’re

Going to try and find some really stunning landscape to put our Colony on and if you want to play along at home and build on the same spot as me stay tuned to the mini map up in the top right because that’s going to have all of the coordinates you’ll need to know

Where I am in this world there we go Village on the horizon but we’re wasting a lot of time here we really want to get this Camp down ASAP Our rough game plan at the moment is survive the night with the sleeping bag get food and supplies from this Village

Build a boat sail along the coast and find the perfect coastal location for our bantine Colony aha a chest halfway up this Tower perfect give us this day our daily bread lovely stuff much more appetizing than mutton uh raw mutton what a disgusting thing let’s make ourselves a boat see if we can find a boat and uh get out oh no

Oh that was lucky that was real lucky let’s make ourselves a boat and coast along the coast coast along the coast yeah Sure whoa this is an impressive looking beast but you know what’s the best is is this pyramid is kind of uneven people always make the mistake when they design pyramids in Minecraft of making them perfectly symmetrical and level all the way up and while that’s neat and tidy doesn’t look very realistic ancient

Tomb well anyway we’re going to go and check this pyramid see what’s at the top oh okay got to be careful you can fall down that and uh die whoa what’s going on over there that’s crazy it’s a village but are they good guys or bad guys well only one way to find

Out they look like Good Guys they’ve got Banners at least not sure about the wisdom of building on a sand shelf but sure so we’ve got some food we’ve got a sleeping bag now we’re on the hunt for the perfect spot to set up our Colony now there are certain important things

You should be looking out for on your way to set up your first colony the bits and Bobs you’re going to need later on down the line like for example Sugarcane so while we do have all the mods nine and that’s the base mod pack we’re using to play mine colonies we’re not going to be relying on mods for many things I want to use mine colonies for as much as we can to get the colony

Going oh what’s this look at this really nice purple Forest what kind of trees are those whatever they are they look amazing they could be jackar rinda trees well let’s get a bit bit of a bird’s eye view of this area and see if this is an ideal place for a

Colony so while it is promising initially there’s a little bit too much water in land there’s not really enough room to be building out here and while the purple trees are lovely I’m not sure if they fit the bisontine aesthetic so I think we’re going to keep on

Looking so onwards along the coast we go let’s take a look at the map and show you guys how far we’ve come at the moment so this is a big old Bay and we’ve circled all all the way around it almost so let’s keep going cuz I think

There’s going to be some nice areas over Here let’s take a little bit of a sail down this River and see if there’s something promising along the banks over Here o a redwood forest over there on the horizon very nice I love those yeah do you know what this could be it in the shadow of this mountain we could build our bantine Colony even more lovely terrain yes oh man and look at that over there that looks really Funky oh yeah I’m glad I kept on looking because this area is delicious oh oh yeah this could be the perfect area for a colony can you see it now in between the three mountains in fact that has name potential the three mountains Colony Tri Peaks let’s take a look let’s get a

Bird’s eye view of what this area looks like so I do believe this area could be perfect you have this wonderful river flowing right through the middle the land here is mostly flat but these three mountain peaks are going to give us a lot of Freedom with the

Building now we’ve also got Forest on the horizon as well so getting jungle saplings is going to be relatively easy we’re not too far away from a desert there’s going to be loads of clay and sand on these river banks we’ve got that interesting tower on the mountain as

Well that looks pretty cool but all in all this looks like it could be the perfect place for us to build our Colony amazing let’s do it so this is going to be it ladies and gentlemen oh man so if you want to build a colony here and

Booty out of this a nice bit of early XP oh and some gold ingots an anvil and a saddle oh and a golden apple and slime ball pretty good Luton here so if you want to add a name that new citizens can possibly have when they join our Colony

Make sure you make a post there or become a patreon member or a YouTube member and make a post now we are grandfathering the old names list which means if you’ve already submitted a name from our all the mods 9 series that name is already in the list so you don’t need

To worry about resubmitting but if you put your name in there there’s a chance for you to join our bisontine colony okay so step one build a supply Camp you can either use a supply Camp or a supply ship and Supply ships are usually a little bit better the other

Big advantage to using a supply ship is that it goes on the water and that means that you don’t use up valuable space on land which you could be using for buildings so I think we’re going to go with a supply ship and here we go five

Of these in a u shape and we get a supply ship from mine colonies let’s let’s go and place this sucker down and Supply ships are great they come with all the resources you need to build your first mine Colony they also come with just generally good starter tools and

Equipment for you to get going with so here we go a fresh morning ready to put down our supply ship so we’re going to right click on the floor near the water and let’s get a bit of a bird’s eyee view of this so this isn’t the boat from

Bisontine but don’t worry if we right click click go to switch pack we’re using a mod called style colonies this adds a whole bunch of extra Styles now at the moment you can only see underwater base antique steampunk and bantine because these are the only extra

Styles that add Supply ships if we were using a supply Camp you’d also see things like the red keep and uh I think High magic and maybe some more now I took a look at most of these steampunk is pretty impressive but bisen timee is clearly the winner it looks super

Amazing and this is what the supply ship looks like pretty freaking cool eh so we’re going to move this out to sea or into the river just a little bit raise it so that the water level is at the correct level and this looks pretty cool yeah this could be the spot it’s

Got some ladders to get up so we shouldn’t have any trouble there but before we put down our supply ship we’re going to have to clear the land if I try and place it down right now you can see boom it’s given us a lot of Errors

Saying not a fluid and what that means is because we don’t have a builder to do this for us we need to manually clear the space so the supply ship has somewhere to go so we’re going to look for somewhere a bit deeper so we don’t

Have to dig away all of this dirt what about over here press tick here and there’s still a few blocks we need to clear out and this is going to take us a lot of digging especially considering it’s underwater which is a real pain and this

Is why perhaps building next to the Sea where the water is much deeper can be a bit more ideal but I’m going to come back to you once I’ve dug out all of this terrain hopefully without drowning okay so that should be all of the dirt dug

Out now if we try and place it again with the supply ship right click press tick and boom there we go it’s there we’ve got our supply ship so let’s raid this and see what kind of things bantine gives us to start the game with this is always exciting because this is where

You see oh it’s a bit tricky there we go open the doors let’s see what the banum style gives us to start with shria oh man it’s like this boat was named for me in fact let’s change that to um sindria there we go boom in fact that’s pretty cool the

Latest kind of Star Wars series Ahsoka has a character called Shin in it and I like to think she’s actually called chin anyway oh man look at this so Byzantium gives us loads and loads and loads of stuff we going to treat this boat as our starter base because it comes with a

Whole bunch of things we’re going to need to use like for example down below there must be a stone cutter down here right yeah there it is architect’s cutter that’s going to help us with some of the blocks we got beds so we can make this our spawn that’s a really good idea

To get going boom respawn Point set amazing so now if we die we’re going to come back to the boat and look at this this oh my God so the Byzantium ship gives you some crazy starting stuff we got a block of diamonds block of gold block of emeralds

Iron a block of prismarine a melon there’s even some cake down here lovely stuff don’t mind if I do this is really really really cool there’s a chest at the back here with plenty of food as well oh man yeah so if you’re looking to start all the mods 9 even without mine

Colonies a boat from the bisen style is basically a free block of diamonds that’s crazy so we’re going to use this double chest up here to empty our pack there we go there’s nothing worse than walking around with a pack full of junk and we’re not going to dig this stuff up

Yet I mean we could because these are all attached to all the mods quests that’ll get us free stuff but we’re focusing on mine colonies for now so let’s gather up the bits we’re going to need we’ll take some cooked mutton this time lovely stuff that’s going to be our

Go-to food and let’s go and get the important bits so we’re looking for the build tool here it is there’s always one of these thank you very much and the town hall block which I believe is over here now usually inside oh wow they give you a free clipboard as

Well so usually inside these oh look at that there’s a leash up there as well and oh man look at this our own set of pirate gear oh amazing it’s not super great armor it’s actually not that bad five seven two and two that’s actually really

Good almost as good as iron armor but it’s got armor toughness as well oh man that’s pretty amazing it’s also got a cutless which is going to beat our wooden sword for sure there’s a crossbow a fishing rod oh man everything a growing mayor needs to get started on his Colony that’s freaking

Amazing now there’s also a book on the lecturn usually a style in M colonies in their supply Camp will give you a book that helps you explain some stuff about the style and gives you some tips and advice and the bisontine one has 14 pages of this but I’m going to give you

A quick overview of what this book says blah blah blah you’re a new mayor good luck buildings begin in Wood upgrading through brick diorite and then embellishing with gold you’re going to need Spruce and Oak and stuff from River be prepared to Source a large amount of

Clay gravel and sand shouldn’t be a problem so make sure your location is a flat area near a sea well we’re kind of near the sea and there’s lots of flat ground near a desert and near Spruce yeah we can make the saplings buildings are large and some use considerable

Materials the pack is designed to facilitate High populations and you can play with a friend if you want to dense Urban centers use in which are modular apartment blocks for houses these are modular structures that have middle ends and Mains and we’ll build one of those so I can show you

Exactly what that means buildings are intended to level together so we’ll be doing that several buildings contain others amazing this is exactly what I wanted to hear the church has an enchanter and includes a library school and graveyard Alchemist towers and dormitories amazing the university has a library and school amazing

The insula which is basically the new houses for bisane has guard posts the warehouse has couriers some professions have couriers the town hall contains a guard and from level three a mechanics the barracks has seven towers and the archery and combat Academy amazing there’s player housing okay okay Avenues of your arterial transport

Linking forums and sub drains are included so the Avenues are basically the main roads of our colony and we’re going to be using those there’s a modular Harbor set oh I can’t wait to build that with Bridges as well and as before you’ll find hidden knowledge books dispersed are very

Exciting so inside these buildings is going to be secret books with hidden knowledge any queries go to the Mind cony’s Discord amazing we’ll leave the book here but oh it’s night time as well so we’ll have a sleep but yeah this is a very very exciting build building style

There’s loads of flat land here should be plenty let’s go and deal with this customer in the water here before he kills one of our new colonists here we go boom boom boom let’s test out the cutless oh it’s good it’s a good weapon okay amazing so we have the build

Tool now and we have a town hall let’s work out where we’re going to put this bad boy and I reckon maybe in the shadow of this mountain is perfect nice near the boat this is I think going to be a great spot so we’ll come over here we’ll clear out

Some of these bushes to start with because these are going to get in the way a bit there’s also this ugly patch of oil which I think we’ll cover up we’re not going to need much oil in our mine Cony playthrough but yeah oh this is going to

Look nice clearing out all of these bushes is giving us loads of free space now these buildings are big bisontine is not a small pack so in fundamentals we’ll go down here go to town hall and oh let’s see if we can get out of it for

One so this is the town hall and as it levels up you got level one 2 3 4 and five oh man that’s a goodl looking building and this is what most of the builds are going to look like so let’s make sure this doesn’t clip too much

Into the mountain oh it does a little bit and there’s some stuff going on at the back there so we’re going to bring this forwards a bit in fact I want to make sure that we’ve actually got the front door at the front that’s a pretty important thing to do right Because this actually looks like the back door Let’s Twist this around yeah here we go this is definitely the front of the building so we’ll bring it back down to level one and I reckon this is the perfect spot so we’ll press tick on this

And there we go the Town Hall is placed now as soon as we right click on this let’s have a couple of berries before we get going fill my belly here we go no nearby colony found you do not currently own a colony we’re in the bisontine pack

You are able to create a new Colony boom here we go and soon the first dudes are going to arrive so while we wait for these rude dudes I’m going to go and grab a coffee and then come back oh man delicious coffee well let’s see who’s arrived okay so colonist

Is coated in oil H get out of there Nikki anyway what’s the next step so we’ve got the town hall block placed we’ve built the colony right click information four unemployed citizens and these are the dudes oh look an an overall happiness is 4.6 that’s not great but it’s not terrible the next

Step is to build a builder’s Hut we can’t build the town hall until we have a builder’s Hut so this episode I want to get a time-lapse build done we’re going to build the Builder Hut okay let’s go over to the boat and see if we can craft a builder’s Hut wait a minute who we oh oh it looks like we got a stowaway on our boat wait I remember you oh hey what’s up you were from our medieval Oak Colony playthrough so what are you doing here I hitched a ride in this sweet boat okay but why I

Mean I remember you turned up and then straw fingers kind of vanished so what’s going on there there I put that son of a gun to the torch he went up in smoke poof gone I mean are you sure he’s dead dead he’s not going to like you know

Turn up and Wreck The Colony again cuz that would kind of suck this isn’t Dragon Ball Z nobody is running around collecting magic balls to summon a dragon dead is dead okay yeah Fair anyway um so are you here to help with the colony then what do I look like free

Labor you’re on your own buddy and good luck bantine is crazy expensive oh okay I guess you can live on the boat if you want to but that’s super weird Okay anyway where was I yeah the Builder’s H if dunal frus or what I think I’m just going to call her dunny

Cuz that’s quite the name if dunny doesn’t want to help well we’re not going to push him so to make things easier we’re going to put the main core buildings we’re going to want on our list over here on the left so hover over Builders H press a and it adds it to

This list over here and that’s going to make crafting it super easy to remember so so we want a builder’s Hut that’s going to be building number one building number two is going to be the tavern so we can get brand new dudes then building

Number three I think is going to be the warehouse there we go and that makes building number four the fisherman’s Hut cuz we’ve got loads of water here let’s put it to good use and it’s going to be a great source of food for us and that’s

A few buildings to get going with but the most important one is the Builder’s Hut so do we have what we need we need a door and some planks which uh did this boat come with any wood that’s a good point I haven’t given this like a good stock

Check so we’ve got some beige bricks and cream bricks we’ve got some arrows oh we’ll take the arrows cuz they’ll be good with the crossbow there’s some Oak and Spruce here yeah we’ll take some of that I’m going to grab this iron though and make an axe because the ax is the

One thing we’re missing from our tools we got the pickaxe we’ got the shovel but we don’t have an axe so we’ll make one of those boop boop boop there we go perfect and now we can ax up this cutter boom ask me a question about Architects Cutters

Oo so let me know in the comments section actually what your favorite building style is from mine colonies because um you guys might know at home in fact on the mine colony’s Discord they have a whole section dedicated to user made Styles we’re going to clear

Out some of these beds because we don’t actually need like 20 beds down here that’ll do and then the architect’s cutter you can go over there so very simple we need some wood into a door and then we have everything we need I believe to make the Builder’s Hut boom

There we go okay now we’re going to want more than one Builder’s Hut and this is an important thing to remember the more Builders you have the quicker you get things done around the colony only one Builder can work on a building at at a

Time but it means you can work on two buildings at the same time very useful very powerful going forwards but the question is when do you build that second Builder’s Hut when should it take priority over building other buildings to level one at least well that’s a good

Question and uh I reckon like after the fifth or sixth building basically when you start building guard’s house is when you’re going to want to have two Builder Huts now before we get going let’s attach the clipboard to our Colony so we know what the requests are we won’t have

Any at the moment because we have no dudes in any kind of jobs yet so none of them want anything but as soon as we get the builders Hut down that’s going to change so let’s get the build tool out boom right click and this is going to be

Exciting I wonder what a bisontine builder’s Hut looks like here we go okay man this is why a jetpack was so useful because being able to see from above where you’re putting buildings is really powerful now it looks like the town hall is kind of floating and that’s

Because it’s at the level we we want it so it doesn’t cut into the mountain too much but we’re also going to want to raise it a little bit so that we can have a decent seaw wall so there we go the Builder’s Hut now is on the same level as the town

Hall what does it look like where’s the front first of all I don’t know it doesn’t look like the Builder H level one really has a front but I’m sure it’ll get a front as we level up so 1 2 3 four and five oh yeah it looks pretty

Good and the style is just so complimentary there’s none of this changing around all of the buildings look like they fit each other so do you know what I reckon this facing forwards is what we want because the other side facing forwards is a bit ugly this is

Definitely the back of the building so this is going to be the front I think will say so let’s get these buildings level and line up the banks so we want to bring this this way I think to and there we go that’s going to give us we

Can have like a road here Mountain Side along the bank but this is looking like a pretty great spot it’s at the same level as the town hall so yeah go down to level one and let’s pull the trigger boom here we go great job on the placement of the Builder’s Hut that’s

Not enough you need to access it and yeah we know how to do all this so we’ll go over here find the Builder’s Hut right click oh tutorial moment yeah we know how this works manage workers okay so which one of these rude dudes is going to become Builder Supreme

Oh yeah so the colony is set to automatic hiring we’re going to go and change that because we want to give ourselves a choice of who we get as a builder uh we also want to pick a team color so we’re going to go for orange

Cuz I do love orange or gold gold looks good and it works well with the bantine style The Colony flag it’s going to be black and gold so we’re going to go for a black base with a gold trim so we got black gold and a good complimentary color for this is probably

White white looks quite good so this is going to be our logo going forwards boom we got permissions oh you know what let’s make dunsel frus is that how I spell her name yeah I think so boom let’s make her an officer why not so if she wants to chip in and help

Us with the work she can although she seems a bit lazy so I don’t think she’s going to be doing that and rename Colony it’s not Shin’s Cony this is oh you know what I’m going to let you guys decide so put in the comment section what you think our

And there we go he is our Builder so we need to get him the materials he needs now to build this building now we don’t have access to much iron but what we do have I think is definitely going to go towards a set of shears so crafting table on a stick and

Let’s make him a set of wooden Tools so he’s got the tools but before we give him the tools to get going we want to make sure he has everything he’s going to need to build this building so build options Builder J Hooes build it and this is where we’re going to make the other important craft from mine colonies the build scroll so search for scroll where is it there we go the resource scroll we’re going to need two leather the build tool and some sticks so we’re got to go and Hunt some

Cows and that is actually one thing I wish Supply ships came with full stack of leather that will make things much much easier here we go so cutless at the ready oh man look at that horse though that horse looks amazing anyway time to cut and run come here

You no no oh God they’re quick horses so we’re looking for leather and I do believe horses drop it but not every time it’s always a shame to kill horses for leather but what’s got to be done has got to be done there we go couple of bits of leather

Of those it’s been a while since I set up any traps so I can’t remember oh iron a stick and some planks so it’s lucky enough that we raided that Village and got this extra iron now where could it be di right it’s not hard to find really

Luck with that so the only thing left now is Cobblestone it’s some something that we didn’t get in the boat we got this iron pickaxe though so it’s time for us to make a little bit of a mine now I always like to put mines in

Mountains cuz I think it’s a great place to start so we’re going to dig behind the Builder’s Hut and just grab ourselves a whole bunch of stone we’ll change the ultim Mine by holding down tilt and shift into a mining tunnel oh oh look it gives us a staircase oh

Rain but either way this is a whole bunch of free Cobblestone using ultim mine so yeah 2 and 1 half stacks this should be plenty so I have tinkered with the settings of mine colonies ordinarily workers will not work in the rain and I can’t blame them it’s horrible out here

But I wanted to make sure that our workers could work in the rain for the purpose of building time lapses but also just because you know I feel like our colonists on the Byzantium Colony are a bit hardier than normal colonists these are the rudest toughest meanest dudes

And they’re not afraid of rain so now we have the Cobble I’m going to craft the remaining bits and let’s watch the Builder’s Hut get built so as I’ve said before basically when a builder starts working what you really should be doing is helping him dig out the

Terrain because it takes a builder forever to mine dig and chop away the materials that are in his way he’s much quicker at actually doing the building part so if you can help him clear out the land that’s really important now I’m recording this while he’s building in the rain and I’m not
