Hey guys stedfast here today we’re gonna take a look at some furniture designs and minecraft we’re gonna focus on chairs today but also benches sofas stools if it’s meant for sitting on we’re gonna cover in this video I’ve put together 100 different designs to show you guys some of these are common Designs that you’ve probably seen before but some of them are brand new that I thought up to show you guys so let’s get to it let’s start off with the basics this is the classic stair chair probably the most basic chair design you can create in Minecraft but it’s actually one of my Favorites because you can use it in almost any situation and it’s only one block I know it’s obvious but I really wanted to start from the ground up next up is another super simple block this is just a sideways log block but it works great around a campfire in a treehouse Or in any nature related build now I want to show you guys ways to build off of the basics a common technique is to use signs as arm rests for the basic stair you can also use trapdoors as arm rests you can also make these simple Chairs into stools by raising them up on top of fence posts this is a great way to make stools at a bar or a tall table now let’s look at more of an armchair this is an easy upgrade from the basic stair you can see that it’s made of two Stairs with planks and slabs on the back you can easily make this chair with different shaped backs and out of different materials these chairs look great and are some of my favorites moving on I have here a raised version of the armchair what’s interesting about this one is that you have four fence Posts all next to each other this is accomplished by using a wooden fence next to another brick fence because they won’t link to each other it’s a cool trick that I’ll be using again later on in this video next up is an even bigger chair if you Have a need for a large chair like this I think the cobblestone walls make great legs for a chair this size here we have a chair made completely from wooden fences the first time I saw this design I was amazed by how much it looks like a real wooden chair you can Of course make this out of any wood type or even out of nether brick fence which would allow you to put these chairs right next to one another moving along I have a few different stool designs here using trapdoors as the seat on this one I also placed a trapdoor below as a base for the stool you can use any type of trapdoor for a different look or you can use a colored carpet for the seat you can also make use of cobble walls iron bars or even end rods when making Stools here we have a simple block with trapdoors but I really wanted to show you guys how you can use trapdoors back-to-back to add a layer of extra detail to your builds next up is a super simple stone bench using only two stairs and two slabs this style of bench would Look great in a garden or along a pathway and of course you can add to it using trapdoors up next you can string a couple of basic stools the ones with the fence posts together to make a longer bench and here’s a super colorful orange Bench I wanted to give an example of how you can use different materials such as the red sandstone and the acacia wood together to make something cool the orange is a bit crazy but you can see how mixing materials can lead to something fun and new moving along we Have this long wooden bench made with trapdoors on the sides this design could also be used to make church pews in a church next we have another bench this one is using a combination of ideas that we’ve seen so far with cobble walls mixed chapters and signs for arm rests Moving on from the benches we have a handful of chair designs these chairs make use of a backwards stair backed by stacked trapdoors it’s a simple but elegant way to make a small chair I want to showcase all of the different wood types here because I think they all look Pretty good and can be used in different scenarios depending on your needs next is a small variation of these chairs this version uses a slab instead of stairs and a third trapdoor in the front once again I think these are awesome chairs that can be used anywhere You can also make a version with an iron door and trapdoor just make sure you power the iron trapdoor with redstone below so it stays open also instead of a slab you could use carpet on the seats of these chairs which gives you plenty of color options next is the third Variation where you place trapdoors on the sides of the chair you can place the slab here in the middle or you can place it at the bottom of the chair giving the design a distinctly different look now I want to show you guys a fun decorating option this is a very simple Chair but you can add some color to it by placing a banner onto the back of the chair the banner can of course beginning color or have a design on it allowing you to make some super customizable chairs like this one with stripes another idea for cheer arm rests is Using an empty item frame I especially like this option when used with birch wood because the wood of the item frame matches the birch color all right let’s move on from chairs and check out some sofas here we have a basic couch made from two stairs and a slab this is a Super basic design that’s been used many many times for years it’s a good option if you don’t have much space to work with next up is the same couch as before except with some pillows added you can do this easily with banners just make sure you have an empty block below for The banners to sit you’ll also need to make sure the bottom part is lit up otherwise the banners will have a lighting glitch and won’t show up in color the next couch is a modern design using quartz with trapdoor arm rests it also uses a patterned banner for a nice Looking pillow next we have a larger couch using trapdoors to give it a high back I think this sofa looks great as an outdoor furniture option speaking about door sofas this large sectional would look awesome on a modern patio or porch I’ve added a quick fire Pit as an example of how you can use this design once again it’s a super easy way to make an elegant design next up is a classic couch design using stairs blocks and slabs this fat couch can be made anywhere out of several different materials I’ve added those couch pillows Here too you can see that using banners at an angle can also work in some designs next up I’m going to show you guys one of the coolest tricks in this video here i’m actually using armor stands with leather caps on them to create some detailed couch pillows if You haven’t seen armor stand tricks before they’re a bit confusing but i’ll walk you through it first we’ll make the couch itself I wanted to make a more modern couch so I used white quartz blocks now the armorstands will end up being right below these two stair blocks so go Ahead and delete one of them you’re gonna go down two blocks and then place seven layers of snow this puts the armorstand at just the right depth that we need now you’ll drop down an armor stand and place a leather cap on top finally we’ll put the quartz tear back Place it next to where you need it and push it back into place with a piston and there you go your couch pillow is in place all you need to do now is repeat this on the other side remember that you can die leather caps any color you need And make them into awesome looking pillows moving right along we have a sleek modern couch this one is made from two beds so you can actually sleep on it if needed which i think is a nice touch next up is another modern couch this is a super simple design using two stairs On the sides for arm rests with a different material in the middle for the cushions next we have what appears to be a small bench nothing too fancy but this bench actually has storage below it you can use this concept to make all sorts of furniture like this like this chair Here the design doesn’t look quite the best but if you want to hide storage out of sight this is an awesome and unique solution here of me at another hidden storage design this time a larger couch that can hold three chests if you decide to make this design remember you need to Cover up the back as well unless you build it against a wall next up is a similar build you’re probably thinking this armchair has a chest right well you’re wrong but check this out a hidden entrance this is a fun idea for a tunnel to a hidden basement and entrance or Passageway I can’t wait to see how people use this one moving on we have another large couch but this one doesn’t have any hidden chests or tunnels but it is a super bouncy couch this is a fun idea you’ve probably seen before all you need is a couple of slime blocks below The carpets if you get a fun bouncy cushion to jump on the next chair is this little contraption I call this the short man’s chair because if you’re a little short just pull this lever and boom there you go it raises up this of course is done by using a piston below The stair block and by the way this is pretty much the easiest redstone contraption you’ll ever have to build speaking of Pistons here’s a few ideas for chairs and benches made using pistons all you have to do with these is power them for below with a redstone torch or block you can use Trapdoors and carpets to make proper seating on top of these Pistons stools you can even make a super simple stool with just one piston I added a pressure plate to look like a cushion on top let’s move on to a few odd designs you can use the hopper for the base of your Chair – as you can see I also made the block below the hopper a dark color this makes it look sort of like an office chair this version here with three trapdoors reminds me of a chair at the dentist’s office it even kicks up and leans back in the Same way which is hilarious and just like the hopper cauldrons can be used as a chair base – these actually look super interesting because the legs of the cauldron look just like the legs of a chair it’s not my favorite but it’s definitely worth mentioning moving on Now to a couple of seats you can actually sit in these use minecarts of course so all you need to do is right click and you’ll be sitting all three of these are made in a similar way first you’ll dig down one block and fill it with seven layers of snow then We’ll place a block above it with a rail and minecart on top now if you break the block below the minecart falls right into place now you’ll just need to push your slab or stairs over the minecart I will say that slabs can make it incredibly difficult to right-click on The minecart so I actually suggest you use stairs if possible when using minecarts this way here’s something a little more simple this is a basic armchair that uses upside-down stairs as arm rests super quick and easy but something I’m super excited to show you guys is this it Looks just like the other one right except check out this half slab it’s actually red sand so you can actually make a slab out of any block affected by gravity dig down 2 blocks and place a fence post then if you drop a sand or grab a block on top it only falls Halfway this lets you get some textures and colors in a slab that you would have never been able to have before as you can see here you can do this with concrete powder as well you can also make a smaller chair like this combined with a colored banner you can make a Fully colored chair next up is a couch I made with falling gravel I also used a couple banners here so you can combine many different techniques in this video to make a chair or sofa you like finally I wanted to show you guys another way to Use these slabs as you can see here I have this gray concrete powder right under another slab which is crazy because you normally can’t place blocks this way without the fence trick a block like this wouldn’t be possible and as you can see in this couch this Allows you to mix all kinds of colors and textures which can make some really unique minecraft furniture next up we have a simple lounge chair that you might see on a beach or next to a pool I also have a little setup here under an umbrella you guys have probably seen This trick before you can use for beds on top of fence posts to create a nice umbrella this has definitely been done before by several people but I just think it goes so nicely with a beach setting moving along I want to show you guys a few different swings swings are Just fun seats after all first up is a basic swing set using cobble walls and iron bars for being so simple I think this thing looks pretty awesome next here’s a sort of porch swing making use of the wood and nether brick fences next to each other in the middle there’s a Small seat made with a carpet and a trap door here we have another porch swing this one might be my favorite it has a nice little arch on top and the oak trapdoors for the bench look great speaking of oak trapdoors you can also use them as a roof of a Porch area like this once again these iron bars make great swing chains lastly we have a pretty interesting one as you can see there’s actually ropes sort of holding the seat up this is done by attaching leads to a mob hidden below meat bunny Juan and bunny – these guys Are working tirelessly to make sure we have a nice bouncing swing set keep up the good work boys you can also use chickens or cows or any mob you can attach a lead – next we have the most important seat in any house the toilet and this one actually sort of works There’s another one here made of a cauldron in case you want one with water actually in it next on the list is a super helpful design this is a chair you can use when your floor is on a half slab level I actually think the way this chair molds into the flooring looks Super nice and of course you can take this concept and apply it to a larger chair or really a lot of the designs we’ve covered so far could be adapted to work this way moving right along here’s something I’m sure a lot of you have seen before I’ve seen a ton of people making these strings of seats with fence gates between them when you open them they make perfect arm rests but unfortunately in order for the end chair to have both arm rests it leaves a floating fence gate off to the side which I’m not a fan Of but I wanted to discover a great way to use these chairs the most obvious to me was to make a small movie theater and I actually think it turned out pretty nicely let me know in the comments or on Twitter if you guys know of another good Way to use this next up we have some really cool interesting designs if you look down here you can see that the bottom of these chairs is a little cross shape that makes a base or maybe the rolling wheels of a desk chair this is made using armorstands let me show you How it’s done you need to dig a hole two blocks deep and then fill the bottom with six layers of snow then you’ll build a small pillar on the back of the hole this is where we’ll place the armorstands make sure you place them at an angle across from one another Now we need to fill in the floor which in this case is made of sandstone so we’ll place the sandstone above the armorstands then we’ll want to go ahead and place the bottom part of the seat so we’ll add a sprue slab here I’ll go Ahead and throw a carpet on top to show you how to add that if you wanted to now we need to push down all of this with a piston place it above and then power it Then you’ll need to push everything down one more block after that it’s done just add on the back of the seat this second seat here uses an iron bar you’ll push it down the same exact way that I just showed you with the iron bar in the carpet This chair is super minimal but detailed which would look great in a modern style build this is just another example of really cool things you can do with armorstands if you guys know of any other armorstand tricks let me know it’s super fun to build with moving on to a More simple build I have here a double decker couch this is a fun idea because you can really take any sofa or couch idea that I’ve mentioned before and make a stacked version I just wanted to mention this concept of stacking designs because I know it might get someone’s Creative juices flowing next we have this oddly shaped ground here but actually it’s a hidden couch I thought this idea was clever there’s probably way cooler things you can make into a hidden redstone contraption but obviously I had to make a couch the redstone here is super simple I have the Lever above here and the redstone dust and repeaters power all of the Pistons on both sides there’s probably a much cleaner way to wire this up but this works fine for me next up we have a pretty basic couch it looks nice it looks comfy the wait What’s this ah it’s a fold-out couch guys my wife thought of this idea and I was so excited to make it it’s something I’ve never seen before in Minecraft the redstone here is pretty simple too the lever is up here and the power runs to either side powering the Pistons with Repeaters super quick and easy to make and great concept next up is something I knew I wanted to build when I decided to make this video this is a giant ice throne now that we have so many different ice blocks this just looks fantastic plus with the use of snow layers you can Add an endless amount of detail to a build like this and of course I just had to add this to it that’s just too good we’re almost finished up so I had to throw in a super troll build if you watch Game of Thrones you probably already know what this is you’ll also Realize just how troll this is but it is made of iron blocks bars and trapdoors and of course mini iron swords I’m pretty proud of this one I have to admit and here it is our final build this is a tiny little throne but it’s incredibly Cool and fancy it uses a little bit of every technique we’ve shown so far the build starts off pretty normal place down a court slab with spruce trapdoors on the back and iron trapdoors as the arm rests make sure they’re powered by redstone torches then on the back of the chair place an Item frame inside I added a diamond block and rotated it once to make a diamond shape behind the item frame place a white banner the diamond shape should now show through making a pretty nice design now we just need to add the diamond pillow using an armor stand just like before After the diamond helmet is in place use a piston to push the quartz slab back into place and there you go your decked out mini throne is done well guys we just went through a ton of chairs together but there’s an infinite amount of other ways to make things in Minecraft I hope you guys got inspired by this video and want to go out and make your own furniture well everyone thank you so much for sticking around through all of those chairs sofas and everything I set out to show you 100 designs and although we Covered a ton I just could not get 100 I went back and counted and I was actually only able to show you guys 99 different designs I just could not think of that 100th chair but you know what either way I hope you guys enjoyed the video and if You did leave a like down below and hit that subscribe button also leave a comment letting me know which tier design is your favorite thanks again guys I’ll see you next time Video Information
