This time last week minecraft revealed their brand new spin-off game called legends it looks amazing and many people are excited but there’s also the obvious question of will minecraft legends slow down the updates of other minecraft games so mojang can work on this actually this game is being worked on Mostly by blackbird interactive in some large part there are mojang employees working on it but they are dedicated to legends and not to the base game one such example would be the executive producer dennis reese he actually did an interview recently where he confirmed this game has been in the works for a Really long time and you know the the project was codenamed badger and uh an interesting little fact for many of those people that might follow minecraft if you go back to minecon 2018 and you look at the shirt that jens berenstein was wearing you’ll see a Graphic on there and it’s in the shape of a badger head and really that was meant to be an easter egg for years for forward which here we are now and that’s i gotta say i love a good easter egg so yeah minecraft legends has been in the Work for years now and it doesn’t seem to have affected any updates yet in fact the never update which is widely to believe one of the best uh came out after uh the production had started so good news for people who are concerned about base minecraft updates but if That’s you you might be confused as to why the wild update is called 1.19.1 on switch and then also as to whether minecraft will jump straight from 1.19.0 to 1.19.10 as it looks to do you know what is the deal with the minecraft system allow me to explain so the Bedrock naming system for updates usually follows the java one but just adding a zero at the end 1.19 becomes 1.19.0 1.19.1 becomes 1.19.10 however bedrock has so many platforms and inevitably some of them have bug fixes and so 1.19.1 is usually what they would call the first platform specific bug fix And so this is a update specifically for the switch it should be fully compatible with 1.0 19.0 however here’s the weird thing i looked into 1.19.1 figuring oh yeah there’s a bug fix they had to release at the same time as the main update we cannot find any information as To what 1.19.1 fix i did as much searching as i can and all i can find is that 1.19.0 is called 1.19.1 on the switch which makes me assume there was some game critical or storage critical or system critical uh bug that was found in the certification process before the world Update came out and they had to roll out an emergency fix but they’re not willing to tell us what it is or they just haven’t thought that they need to tell us because it’s something so boring and behind the scenes i don’t know which it is but i’m so interested but yeah the Next update that you should be excited for is 1.19.10 usually that would just imply it’s gonna be some fixes and some changes and stuff but we do know there’s gonna be quite a few different changes in that update including this week they confirmed they’d be adding the slash Locate biome command amongst a whole host of other things honestly i’m excited for this sub update in a way that usually you don’t get to be usually a bug fix is just here’s some things that you won’t really interact with but 1.19.10 is not just ally breeding it’s Not just a new command it’s lots of tiny little changes they’re making which i really appreciate personally speaking of appreciation dragon is asking how it was considered a bug that alleys weren’t renewable if people mentioned it through the entire process of development to them if it wasn’t a bug they just didn’t Intend to add it i assume in this release my assumption and this is a big assumption i’m gonna have to take is that the wild update had a very fixed deadline in place and so maybe the allies took longer than they were expecting and so as soon as they got Them ready and done for public consumption for the snapshot process and people immediately said why can’t we breed these they wanted to add breeding they thought oh that’s such a good idea why didn’t we make them renewable but they’d already moved on from making the alley to other features and if you think About it would they rather release 1.19.0 with all the planned features i mean all the all the planned features in their mind you know not including uh birch forest and allies or would they rather miss a keyplan feature just so they could add that in later i think now They’ve started to use the 0.1 and point 10 updates the first like kind of bug fix to also add some of those features that didn’t quite make the cut but they fought really off because if you go all the way back to the never update the piglen brute which is now just an Annoying consistent part of the bastions didn’t come in until a later update it wasn’t in the default base game part of the update and it’s really interesting that they’re starting to do this more i think it’s a good thing i think if we lose fewer features and they come in Later and we get a little bit of a bonus part of the update later on why not you know as i mentioned in my video about features which aged really well earlier this week uh the firework rockets weren’t added to 1.11.1 but they’re one of the best parts of that update overall I think seeing the bug fixes not just as an opportunity to fix bugs but also add features that they couldn’t add while the update was in pre-development i think it’s a very smart thing and i’m glad that they’re doing it i’m very happy that they’re doing it in a lot of Ways and speaking of happy things they’re doing in a lot of ways here’s something weird carolina m asks which is isn’t it isn’t it weird that you use a tiny water bottle on dirt and you have mud but you can put a whole water source above it and nothing and yeah i was Doing this for all of my uh last stream but 27 on the super flat survival if you’re curious um i was using water bottles even though it was already covered in water and the answer as to why this is true even though it makes no logical in-game sense it’s because it’s More fun for gameplay reasons minecraft is filled with realism compromises which make the game more fun whether that’s riding pigs whether that’s being able to feed dogs rotten flesh without them getting infected uh or whatever or whether it’s you know 1.19 added quite a few of them like we mentioned if all Dirt underwater became muddy that would ruin a lot of people’s builds so instead they make it so you have to actively choose to do so uh the skulk sensor doesn’t go crazy and activate all the time when raindrops even though it detects vibrations and uh that’s because It makes things way more fun i think minecraft is its best when it’s working out how to make the most fun game rather than trying to be realistic because as we know from the whole frog firefly uh food saga that’s a whole con controversy as we know from that whole thing i think No one has said yeah i’m really glad uh mojang has changed the firefly food because i didn’t know that they were poisonous and i was about to feed one to my frog thank god um i think that most players 99 plus percent i have to Imagine uh say yeah give us the most fun game i don’t mind about realism as long as it’s at least plausible and i think there’s a lot of things that are plausible like yeah maybe you need to inject the the bottle into the mud it doesn’t make any real life sense but It’s explainable for the game maybe rain doesn’t work on the skulk sensor because in minecraft the rain doesn’t make vibrations when it hits the ground it clearly does make noise when it hits the ground because you can hear it but we’re going to ignore that for now because it Makes minecraft more fun they actually did kind of like an insider behind the scenes about their creation of mud i thought it was a really interesting video and i’ll show you just some of the alternative mud textures they tried uh they wanted to make it look natural but Mud in the real world doesn’t come in one meter by one meter cubed so they worked around it by making these interesting red and then brown and then they eventually decided on the weird gray uh texture that we have because working within those confines that’s the most interesting way to make a mud Looking block it’s really interesting to think about these sorts of things and i all i’m saying is i’m glad that whoever says that minecraft has to be realistic is only behind mobs and what you feed them and how you tame them i’m glad they don’t have any power over the rest of The game because i think they make some really cool decisions when you just let developers do what they think is interesting uh anyway speaking of laying developers do things that are interesting um manju bahata says works on java does it in response to my seed sunday which came out a couple of weeks Ago and i figured this would be a useful time to remind people of how things are right now we have had several mojang developers committing to full seed parity at some point but right now there is not full c parity all the biomes will be the same but all the structures will Be moved which means this exact same seed if you load it up on java would be sad because all the structures would be missing i think there is thought it’s worth it it might be worth going through some seeds that are interesting on both versions because it just involves Terrain but if you’re looking for structures it will never be the same across java and bedrock so those are the things where you need to be extra clear is this java or is this bedrock in the dream future that doesn’t need to be true but i think given the different Redstone systems given the different everything systems there will always be different builds and different ways to do things and different seeds between the two platforms maybe i’m wrong though i’d like to be speaking of things i’d like to be what would a 2022 tutorial world and mini game look like asks dealt Spicy gaming fun videos and fun time is that is that a real channel anyway uh they they i think this is one of my favorite questions uh that i’ve been asked because it’s so fun to imagine the alternative world where all it takes for console edition to still be around today Is for microsoft to never unify uh windows 10 and uh pe and all these weird versions of the game uh to never start bringing about this unification or alternatively uh microsoft never buys mojang and then mojang has much smaller goals minecraft is probably a smaller game today but it’s also probably spread Across more platforms they probably also don’t have as many minecraft spin-off games i feel as though mojang as a studio before microsoft were very keen on proving that they could make good games that weren’t minecraft themselves uh scrolls cobalt and zero times 10c and obviously you know none of those games Are massively successful but uh you know it is they were trying different things and so i think they’d be more willing to leave minecraft alone and so in that world we are just waiting on 1.19 to come out for xbox series x and xbox one And ps5 etc and the weird thing is i genuinely can’t imagine what a tutorial world would look like it’s been so many years since we’ve seen one i would love to see 4j make one for an update just for old time’s sake at some point i know They totally can’t do that because it takes you know like hundreds of man hours and they have to pay for that but i would love to see a tutorial world if you are anyone at microsoft or mojang or you have the decision to make this please hire 4j or you know honestly make Your own if you think it’s cheaper but make a tutorial world and bundle it for free with all the minecraft versions which aren’t on phones where storage is super limited um bundle a free tutorial world with the game so that people can learn about new features and they would Be able to engage with the updates so much better i mean we’ll ignore the minigame thing for now because there would have been like a dozen of them but it’s so interesting to imagine that alternate future but we won’t we won’t dive into it too much instead we’ll talk About the ultimate future compared to the current present because michaela asks did 1.19 live up to your expectations so good question i think the answer would have to be that the update really was an exciting one for a big part of it and then i was kind of Bearish on the update but but before like i’d know two three weeks before it came out so i was like so what is extra coming in here but then i realized it was coming out pretty soon and that was a really positive thing and i was excited to play around with the new Blocks i haven’t really gotten to do much of that outside of my uh you know deep dark survival world which by the way will be continuing i’m sure you can see some fresh gameplay of me going beyond that week in the background i hope you’re enjoying it it’s really Weird to make gameplay videos from because it’s so dark but anyway yeah i i really am enjoying the parts that i’m playing but i’m also just so exhausted by some bits i’m like oh the frog like i’m gonna i want to collect all the blocks in this update And it’s gonna be fun to play around mangrove fun to play around with mud bricks it’s gonna be fun uh to go into the deep dark and silk touch up those blocks but going and getting um you know like i’m gonna have to take frogs to the Nether get them to eat magma cubes that’s the bit that’s gonna make me mad every single time because this could have been so much simpler this could have been a feature that made it but no it’s uh i i think ultimately did it live up to my expectations yeah i because i Was real i kept my expectations pretty tiny i’m really excited by all the different ways we can take this and the fact that 1.19.10 is going to add even more features to the game i’m quite excited i want to play around with allies also but i don’t know where they Would really go it’s one of the weirdest updates in terms of i’m least aware of how i’m going to play around with this and have fun of it but maybe that’s half the fun sometimes speaking of half the fun glowa worm asks i wonder if legends the minecraft action strategy spin-off Game will have the ability to pause the game which minecraft itself is missing i guess because it’s such a difficult next-gen feature to implement the reason minecraft doesn’t have pausing is because it it’s by default at least the better condition uh it’s deep by default designed to be played multiplayer even If you play in a world and you don’t have any friends it will still open up your games to be available to friends which means if they added pausing you know even if they added it to single player worlds it wouldn’t work because other people could join the world and You can’t pause a world that is multiplayer you know you know when your mom’s like oh just pause the game you’d be like no it’s multiplayer i’m gonna die if i pause it um you know like having to explain that to your parents i feel like that’s the problem minecraft Has and sure they can make it so offline games are possible i don’t know why they have it on that one uh but yeah the the reason that it’s not plausible is because minecraft bedrock is an online uh by default experience and it’s kind of strange if you ask me but you know Welcome to the strange world we live in by the way thank you uh you might notice that red logo next to glowworm’s name it actually means that he’s been subscribed to 11 months so thank you uh for staying around the channel for so long speaking of staying around on the channel jar jar Binks says what i find kind of funny about the uk in general is the lack of any super dangerous wild animals it’s a far cry from coming face to face with a bear a kangaroo or a big cat and it’s funny they’re saying this because i post Pictures of me trying to like pet geese here’s some baby geese that hatched recently nearby me by the way oh look how cute they are or like i’ll be walking down the street and i’ll just see a fox and i’ll like run over to it like this this is my this is uh Something i posted on my story this week one of the weird things about walking around london is sometimes you’ll just see foxes and i’m never really sure what they’re doing all day but i want to pet one so bad but they’re not such a big fan oh maybe this one is no It doesn’t seem that way it’s cute i think he’s making a burrow or he’s about to poop i haven’t quite decided which yet it’s probably one of those two things though i won’t tell anyone if you just you just you just let me no it’s it’s kind of Weird right and most people are just really default scared of animals but in the uk there aren’t any major big threats i mean technically that fox could bite me and i could get rabies i mean my hand is awfully close to it but like ultimately it’s probably not gonna Happen the fox is probably gonna run away and also he’s super soft and look he’s digging a hole isn’t that cute and so yeah all the wildlife you see in the uk is pretty benign we don’t even have mosquitoes as best i know uh whereas in every other country it’s like yeah watch Out for the poisonous snakes or um in america you always have to worry about bears and it’s crazy because the thing with bears is you have to know what to do depending on the type of bear if it’s um black you should fight back scare it Away because it will get scared of you but if it’s brown you have to play dead so if it’s brown lay down however a lot of brown grizzly bears actually look black and a lot of black bears look brown apparently and so in in conclusion if you see a bear you probably die There’s just this big animal wandering around your woods that might kill you i don’t like that that’s horrifying i i i really like the uk because we have mild weather mild animals mild everything including food according to some and so as a result it’s a great place to live And i do intend to live here long term by the way but i do have uh some short-term plans uh
