Would you like to be able to build more interest in walls in Minecraft well I am going to show you how to turn this into this in seven easy steps and we’re going to do it with five different color palettes so you can apply it wherever you want don’t you go anywhere Good morning good afternoon good evening and good night and welcome to another episode from me ever manse in my building tutorial series but today we’re not actually building any houses or any towers or indeed a tavern or a pub or a stable or anything like that in the Walkabout world or anywhere else we’re going to talk about walls it’s probably the one single biggest question I ever get asked by anybody is how do I make my walls look better now if we look at this fellow here this is actually a perfectly okay wall you’ve got two different Colors it’s got a bit of texture but it’s a little bit flat so we’re gonna talk about how in seven and I mean really easy steps you can transform this into something looks absolutely amazing and can be repeated around goodness only knows how many places but then we’re Going to look at four different color palettes so the starting point is very different and you end up with something for a different situation maybe it’s a castle maybe it’s a tavern maybe it is a ruin maybe it’s something in a tiger village I don’t know anything we could start to Develop these skills so first off flat wall one block wide he’s got posts and it works quite well the posts are the right sort of height they’re all in ratio the panels are good you’ve got seven space in the middle it works actually it’s an OK wall and you Can definitely get away with this but maybe you want to make it just a little bit more interesting really easily by indenting the middle part of the wall so all we’ve done is we’ve pushed that wood back one level literally one block in and you’ve already got a really Interesting wall starting to develop and we also popped in three buttons kind of midpoint ish on those tall columns because then that gives the impression that the things actually been put together and what that’s given us is three levels of depth in but you can go way beyond this so next Really simple step is we start to get some steps in and creating even more depth type of fill so we’ve changed up the wood but we’ve kept the color fairly similar using the strips oak as opposed to the oak planks and then we’ve also taken some steps and done just a little Bit of overhanging with these steps now these are spruce because they match up really nicely with the oak log and the oak log is what you’re trying to match up with it not the oak itself so that works really well and if you add that wall I think you’d probably be quite Pleased but then you’ve got to take it to another level and that other level is just putting in a little bit more detail so we’ve added in a little bit more stepid– we’ve got different steps looking in different directions we’ve got logs poking out so as we can See the log end it just gives her a little bit more interest in terms of pattern and actually again this is a really nice wall and you could use this on the wall of a four or something like that or even a wooden castle or a village if You’ve got a Ward village that would work beautifully but maybe you want to take it one step further and that is to this stage here which is just adding the slightest little bit more detail the pink is utterly optional but what you’ve done here is we’ve taken there’s the Middle section out of here and we’ve put stone brick behind that so we have now got the stone brick as one level the strip’s ochres a level to these steps is level three this post is level four this post is level five and these outer steps as level six and we’ve put again Trapdoors on the top there you can see and they are also level six six levels of depth we put in some gates that are open right there which allow us to kind of emulate the posts being supported with some wooden beams coming out so that that’s supporting that Pozos it’s Not going to fall down on your head and that won’t be very nice and again you’d be really happy with that but maybe you feel it’s a little bit dark maybe you think actually yeah the way Pig you want something inside that little hole you don’t want it for pigs to go roaming Around in so let’s do something else a little step further and we’ve added some light into this particular one we put lights lantern specifically behind glass here we’ve put fences in a lantern on top and we’ve exchanged the step that was going inwards here for a little Wooden log and that wooden log gives us a little bit more structure it makes it look a little bit more sturdy because isn’t a salon it’s actually a big old block and that works quite well we’ve also added across the top a step five slabs and another step that gives Us a bit of an overhang on that wall and I’ve put in some mossy cobble it’s on the floor so it’s quite likely not mossy cobble some mossy and bricks and it’s quite likely to be mossy because it then runs from the grass onto the brick it’s Not like a harsh line of green onto grey it’s got that kind of mottled green effect and it allows that to merge in and I think that works out is actually a really nice wall and that could be worked beautifully into a western town or something like that I think it’ll Work really well but you can take you just one more step and it’s bushes of course it’s bushes we’re bringing in a few bushes and we’ve used a composter to stack those bushes up on a little bit like a planter on the inside of each Side of that wall we placed a button on the inside here so that looks again that’s been pinned into place I’ve put some water now that’s really extravagant obviously but if you wanted to you could grab that watering absolutely no problems it makes for a really interesting feature on our wall and I Think it’s really grow they’re nice it works well we’ve added barrels as opposed to the wooden post here because it gives that strapped feel that kind of straps metal thing there and put a button on that and again it gives another level of death this is a serious Wall and you can change this up in whatever way you want for different textures so what I’m going to do now is show you a few different textures so this big smooth quartz wall is separating me from the next variation and there variation is very similar I’m just going To press that button that removes the wall and you can see we’ve got a very similar palette here this is the actual palette you can see we’ve changed the oak for spruce everything else is pretty much the same so I’m not going to go through every variant detail but you can Just see the differences as you come through and I am going to put a world download for this so you can come and have a look at it yourself you can see change from spruce four oak gives a much darker texture more manner like more regal but we’ve kept that stripped oak In at that side we’ve also kept in the same sort of steps as his sprue steps as well and I think it works really beautifully the fact that we’ve got spruce steps inside these spruce wood now makes it look like that’s just being cut out rather than Into light again making the same changes we’ve swapped out the oak trap doors for Street spruce trap doors it covers up the grain of the wood which is a bit of a shame if you like a little bit but actually I really like the pattern that Comes on that spruce wood again the same level of depth here if we come forward and put a little bit of light into it you can see the change in the darkness between the oak and the spruce it makes such a big difference and it is a much More regal film and coming through to the final incarnation and we have got padding in exactly the same bushes these are oak bushes and the same water with the same breaking up of these mossy slip stones I think it’s a really nice way to change up the palette just by changing The wood ever so slightly moving on from that spruce variation we’re going to change it up just a little bit more and we’re changing up some of the wood for some stone bringing in some stone into the wall itself is quite a nice way of changing it so you can see we’ve got Just a little bit of cobblestone replacing some of those wood planks and we’ve also changed up the leaves to spruce so you start with a cobble wall and you come around and you can see indenting that copper wall walks really beautifully that would offset against the cobble is a really nice variation And very different from the woods that you’ve got over there indenter in here and we use in strips spruce here just to offset that cobble it’s just a choice you could do oak you could do any other color for that matter then come it around again we’re just making a few We’ll change as you can see the only change between that and that is really the fact that we use cobble instead of spruce and come this way same again we’ve just used cobble instead of spruce and that gives us a very different feeling to the way the wall looks it’s far more Rugged looking it looks like it’s slightly stronger it’s not going to burn down and then coming past it again we’ve just changed up again exactly the same look and feel but cut in with all of this cobble rather than the wood before and I think that makes for a really Pretty offset with this spruce against the cobble is a nice change and then the last one if we come through we can see we’ve changed it up even further by putting in some spruce leaves rather than oak leaves but I think the darkness of the spruce wood all over the place With the lightness of the cobble actually means that we can use Bruce leaves here without making it too dark whereas it needs the lightness and the greenness of the oak over on that old spruce fence coming towards our next variation now and we’re going full on Stone this is what you’d use maybe for a castle or something much more sturdy not almost any wood in it whatsoever a little bit of stripped oak there just to give a bit of offset but other than that no wood at all that’s what it looks like Flat and actually stone and stone brick works really well as a flat surface but it looks even better when you dent it in like that exactly the same principle we’ve used stone buttons here just because we’re not going towards the wood at the moment but if we come past you Can see we’ve got an indent with the wood that allows us to give just a little bit of color variation that becomes pleasing to the eye our pig friend is still lurking and coming around this way you can see we’ve exchanged the wooden stairs here for cobble steps and those cobble steps then Give a little bit more texture to this flat smooth stone surface if we come around this way you can see we’ve again brought in a little bit more wood these gates here just open gates add some support they look like it’s supporting that stone beam going across there and a Little bit more again of that and spruce fence to give a little bit more structure within that hole different colors please the I little bit more coming in further we’re lighting it up and we’ve decided rather than going with spruce fence here we’ve gone for stone wolf to add on that little lamp There but everything else is just the same as we did in the previous bill but gives a massively different feel and then if we come right here you can see again exactly the same the barrel offsets so well I almost didn’t put the barrel in for this one but it offsets so Well amongst this stone that strapping and that would just works beautifully and putting him against stone buttons avoiding the wooden bones on this one just to keep with the stone thing I think that works really nicely and you could use that for a city wall definitely that would look really Fantastic and our final palette is this fella here we have gone for a little bit of acacia and acacia actually has a really interesting property because the wood itself looks almost stone like you can see here this is a pallet that we’re going to be using and again I’m going to Leave all of this out so as you can see exactly what we’re looking at in a world download with the link in the description below so we’ve mixed up oak wood here with this acacia log going all the way around and it kind of emulates a little bit of a petrified stone texture Around some wood which I think looks really really effective again indenting it just a little bit there make such a difference and we’ve gone for some dark oak buttons to offset that stone because the gray would just be a little bit too great coming inside here we’ve now gone With the acacia stripped wood and this orange color actually does something really fantastic starts to make me feel a little bit like I’m Mesa a little bit Badlands biome so perhaps we’re starting to build the kind of walls that you would see in a wild west town or a Mesa Base or something like that again using smooth stone because it works so beautifully well with this acacia log it’s the pattern is close but not quite close enough to meld in but just matches beautifully I’m really a fan of that I think coming this way again bringing out that orange with The acacia log to match this insert here but having more of the smooth stone steps that kind of match up a little bit with these acacia logs I think what’s beautifully and you get this shaped orange in the middle and very attractive all there and that could Definitely be used for the wall of a town in the Wild West I’d love that and then coming along a little bit further some additional detail this probably is more of an interim wall I don’t think you’d use this on its own you’d add more to it but we’re gaining The depth Theory at the back rather than having those stone bricks we put in the strips out because I think that strips oak color works really well against this reddy-orange of the acacia and it’s just really really nice that continue to come out here with this sweeping shape of Stone coming around to the next one we’ve added in the light but we’ve gone a little bit different I’ve used some orange stained glass here to offset that acacia orange and I think it works so much nicer than a clear or a gray stained glass and we’ve again blocked This off so it gives it a much stronger feel rather than the steps of stone this square block really makes it feel like it’s got some serious support we’ve kept however the Spruce fencing because we do need to have some variation of color from that Orange and that oak and that Kind of Stoney acacia and then the final one added in the planting and the barrel don’t lose the barrel the barrel just works so well we’ve gone back to oak trapdoors acacia trapdoors don’t work in this build I didn’t think so anyway but the oak leaves definitely did put in Some water and the water with the acacia actually my mind works the best of all it works really beautifully and this is a very ornate western wall or some really quite classy Mesa biome base or something like that it just works so very well and they have five pallet Examples of changing a really basic wall into a very detailed and professional-looking building just in seven very easy steps and you’d have to follow the same steps that I did you can change it up you can do what you like be creative this is your build you do it Your way but really the changes are very simple and if you do it gradually you’ll find it’s far less worrying to make something that looks very grand specific to the biome or the place that you’re building him if you have enjoyed this video please remember to slap that like Button because don’t you enjoying it and I will keep on making them also it’s not
