Have you ever wanted to just copy and paste something in Minecraft it could be something simple it could be something complex whatever the reason you just don’t want to do the build all over again well believe it or not vanilla Minecraft does have the ability to do this and it’s called the Clone Command but while the command is legit and can save you a lot of time it can also be a little squirly but let’s give it a shot so the first thing you’re going to want to do when you’ve got your build done is you’re going to want to make a copy of The world this is because unlike in the real world There Is No undo button so if you end up pasting 100,000 blocks in the wrong place it’s probably going to make you want to rage quit so the first thing you’re going to want to do is you’re Going to want to mark two corners of the build like over here I’m going to pick a line where nothing is in it and then I come over over this way and nothing is in it so I’ll go right here oink they clear it this way and we clear it this Way then we go up and over to the kitty corner the opposite corner and we go down and let’s see here let’s looks like it’s in over this way this looks like it’s in over this way let’s make a big one only this one has to go up higher Boing um please boing boing boing but look I’m now over top the roof so by designating these two corners the little low one and the opposite High one you’ve essentially made a cube as Illustrated with this white glass here this is the area that Minecraft is going to be Copying so now that we’ve got that done let’s hit F3 and let’s see here Target block we have –3 -61 and -7 and you need to write those numbers down when once you got those numbers written down hop up go over slink and look for the Target block Again the high point that you designated in this case it is a five 55 and 11 write those numbers down since we started with this low point then that would make sense that I would want to continue with this low point right we’re going to come straight over here here uh Clear this little area right here and put in a new block let see that looks about oh no that’s wrong right here and we’ve cleared this so let’s give it a shot let’s take a look at this one this one is Target block3 -61 and positive 15 now that we’ve got our three points our low Point our high point and our where we want it to go point it is time to put in the Clone command so let’s see we got back slash clone spacebar and our initial one was a -3 spacebar 61 spacebar -7 all right so That was where we begin it actually says begin space bar this one is a posi five this one is A- 55 because it was way up in here and this one is 11 that is the end point that is the area where we designated we want to copy now we want to put In3 because that’s that block and -61 and positive 15 is it going to work let’s hit enter and it worked it actually worked h huh imagine that but Max D shouldn’t you be happy that it worked uh yeah that’s what I wanted but to be honest with you I’m shocked and here’s Why according to the wiki notes Minecraft will always work off the northwest corner and because our little Point block down here right there uh was in the northwest corner then it went exactly where I wanted it to so what do I mean by this northwest corner well as I’m facing the build I hit F3 and I can see that I’m facing East which means when I turn to this direction I’m actually facing north now and because it’s all the way over to the left that would mean it’s in the northwest corner I know this sounds probably a Little bit confusing but let’s build something facing north so I can show you exactly what I mean okay so we’ve got a little bit of a treehouse plantet here and we are facing let’s see North which is exactly what we want so let’s put in our start Point our end point and see What happens okay so once again we’ve enclosed a little Cube here we did it with this low point over here and then we went up and we went over and we grabbed this high point now remember Minecraft wants to grab from the northwest corner so I have put a little Orange block of wool on the northwest corner this is going to come in handy for what comes next so for the sake of example I’m going to start just like I did last time and I’m going to come across and make sure I clear and right About here what do you think no I missed it again how do I do that so here we go that’s my focal point let’s see what happens when I clone it okay let’s see here we got clone finally 22 -61 0 this is going to work wonderfully right Uhoh what happened where is it there’s my orange block oh yeah right there huh and look it’s over here look at this I got a broken door I got a whole B oh there’s a big white pillar of birch going straight through my yeah okay did did I forget to Mention that uh when you pay something it just kind of overwrites everything that’s there so you can see with this block of orange wool that it picked up from that northwest corner right which we established over here it copied everything that was in this Cube and because this was our Pickup Point our orange block of wool here that’s where it started its pasting process right here and unfortunately for all these other builds it just basically wrote over the top of them well time to go get my backup copy so now let’s see what happens when we pick up the northwest Corner and we try replacing it somewhere else Tada oo how about that two identical builds sitting side by side and as you can see it copied that northwest corner right there I could go on and on at this point uh but it kind of get repetitive I think your best bet Is just to dig in and see if you like it once you get the hang of it you’ll find that there’s a lot you can do like I built this helico Village essentially by building one special layer with houses and farms and all that and then just copy pasted it vertically what would Have taken probably weeks with a conventional bill was done in an afternoon just using the the Clone command well hopefully you got a little bit better grip on how the colog command works it’s not too bad it’s just a little squirly make sure you make your Backup copies and um have some fun if you have any questions please put them in the comments if you got any value out of this give me a thumbs up uh best yet if you haven’t subscribe please do so that always makes my day thanks for watching everybody Video Information
