Hey there i’ve got a video here detailing how i made a semi-automated potion farm in minecraft 1.52 after the redstone update came out i decided i wanted to make a multiple brewing stand set up that would work without horrible redstone wiring i saw several things online with really complicated wiring water and A whole slew of things and i just didn’t like it they were huge the wiring was a mess and i didn’t think it was very efficient so i messed around a little bit and i came up with a very simple way that takes almost no redstone you can Actually do this with zero pieces of redstone but if you want to automate a little bit it takes a couple repeaters a lever and a little bit of redstone so i’ll just show you how this works so we got the three brewing stands with the switch to keep them from dropping into The hopper as you can see below over here is a switch to feed water bottles into the brewing stands see right here got some water bottles in here so what you’ll do you need to make sure that this one switch is on otherwise you’ll infinitely drop these down here we’ve got a chest Fills these up so you make sure it’s locked so they don’t keep dropping turn it on for about three seconds so you’ve got some brewing stands with just plain potions in here now so the way this works is there’s three droppers pointing towards these little chambers and there’s buttons next to each item And i’ve marked them with the frames you can put them on either side i like doing them straight on it makes it a little harder to access so if you want you can put the pictures a little higher oops kind of like that sugar cane i have up There it doesn’t really matter it gets the job done if you uh thought about it you realized i can only see two of these so one of them is slightly annoying to access to get to the back you have to climb the ladder and you can do this by just hopping And then holding sneak you’ll eventually grab it and you can load it as you’re sliding down the ladder so anyways i’ll show you how this works so we’ll start off with the netherwart like always and you can actually do multiple things at once so i hit my melon and my glowstone for Strength and you can load it all at once i’ll just watch this as it brews so you can see it pulled the melon out and it will automatically start making it stronger as it feeds from the hopper and one of the things i find handy this Is just a test world so it doesn’t show it but i always put up little signs to show what makes what in case you forget so i’ll let this finish and i’ll show you how the dropper works so now that we’ve got that you just flip this one two three All right it’s dropped and i can reset it just for kicks so now i go to the bottom or i’ve just got a simple set of hoppers feeding into one another into a double chest and you can see the instant health potions i made since we have three Hoppers you can make one complete row of nine potions at a time so you get a pretty high yield and i find it really convenient so i’ll just show you how this looks i moved a lot i put a ladder here so you can climb up you can actually Actuate these from the ladder if you want or put little stepping stones every four or five you can make this as tall as you want to capture as many ingredients as you want this is just a sample i’ve got most everything normally i’d put gunpowder lower because You make so many splash potions but i just happened to set this one up this way so now i will show you how i built this so that’s the final product with both the dropper and the feeder over here i’ve got a more basic one where it’s got just the feeder set up The cup the complete one with both takes about 11 by 12. the smaller one takes eight by seven you can see these diamond blocks these quartz blocks i mark it 1 5 ten and then every five after that so you can see this thing is pretty compact if you don’t put the dropper I’m sorry if you don’t put the feeder once you put the feeder and the dropper and it gets a lot bigger because you have to take the redstone circuitry so you can see i just routed it back here nothing special you can definitely wire it nicer i just did this simply for clarity So all you do is you center this in a lever put redstone each way brewing stand you can probably see how i built this and you don’t need to watch the rest of the video but if you do want a step-by-step guide continue watching i already marked the lever positions Just for my own sake so i could do this a lot easier so you do that i forgot to snag redstone i almost made a mistake so you’re gonna put the hoppers down first make sure they’re pointing straight down you’re gonna have to tear them up later hold sneak to place these Now the fun part you’ve gotta even in creative mode you gotta land if you wanna be able to put these things down very easily all right so i’ve got the hopper set up now the fun part got to make sure i get the droppers working So all i do is i dead end these things into just a well i have new stone brick here but stone brick wall it’s actually more frustrating in creative mode because i keep trying to fly an accident all right so you can sort of see what i’m doing And again if you don’t put these walls up the dispensers are just going to start shooting things everywhere and that won’t help you at all one thing you have to be careful of is to make sure your droppers are facing the right way so now grab the ladder real quick the ladder backwards So you build this however top tall you end up making this thing get rid of the stuff i use just for construction i just hug the ladder or i don’t because i didn’t put enough up hook the ladder with sneak and just throw these up like i said i like the frames here Oops but you can put over there if you want all right so to get to the back side of the one you can’t reach i like to put it over here just gotta hold snake put ladders up here and sure why not i’ll finish this thing Off completely i was going to be lazy but i’m almost done so might as well just do it all right you can see the kind of unique space invader shape tells you you did it right so only one of these side tunnels is used to climb up You can see if you if the hopper is at the bottom you’re good to go so now if you wanna you know step up your game a little bit put these sideways hoppers in you need to do it in such a way so that you don’t screw up your wiring Which isn’t very hard but if you try to make this compact it’ll clash and you also need to make sure you leave space the reason i put two of these is because your chest will not be able to open if you put it in the wrong place so double these up all right And we’ll do the water autofill so i only wire up the hopper next to the brewing stand i don’t wire both it complicates things and there’s no real reason for it let’s do this simplest t pattern works really well busting the ground a little bit i didn’t give myself an access place Over here yet so i routinely do this right here bedrock guys do pretty well see that accidental hop that i put in earlier so when i bust this out i just bust out until i see all the hoppers if you want to make a nice boxy room you can but i Don’t see why you need to so i’ve got one two and there’s three just dig this out so i can meet my two holes up there we go i make sure i cut this wide so i make sure my redstone wiring can go by and not interfere with the existing hoppers I realize here that i made a mistake i didn’t stack the hoppers like i need to so there’s no way to access it below so i’ll just redo this real quick unfortunately once these hoppers are placed you can’t change the direction at least i don’t know if away So now i’m going to do is fix the hopper location so they’re actually pointing somewhere i’m going to focus i’m going to funnel all of them into a single chest again i’m sneaking to place them properly like i said this is totally optional you don’t need to do this unless you want to You can just pull them manually out of the stand i just like to automate things i think it’s kind of fun all right fixing my little mistakes here and there so let’s get the redstone right underneath the blue panel and that’s all you need i should be able speaking of being to There we go so now turn this thing on it’ll keep the hoppers from working so i can fill this up it is feeding but it’s not going past the final hopper just toss a couple of these in here and i’m going to need to pull a couple more So that one you can actually see there’s a residual all right so to load the hopper i’ll just flip my switch real quick one two three you can see i mispointed this funnel there we go try this again one two three there we go so now these are all loaded up I forgot to load these up for the demo so i’ll put the picture up load each side and i usually do these with two to three stacks at a time just to avoid having to go up here and do this again because it’s kind of annoying this is all about efficiency so Anything you can do to make it more efficient it’s probably worthwhile and for these i simply count up and you can also you know peak if you don’t forget what you did so hit the another wart which is always the first ingredient oh this one ran out of potions I gotta manually do this because i already turned off the feeder all right so i can i can also cue up the next two which is the watermelon and the redstone since i’m making a health potion the redstone will not do anything when i demo this i use something else so use stuff Just throw this in just for demonstration because i don’t want to fill all these up again clear up the redstone because i’m an idiot there’s a lot of glowstone in there now all right and if you wanted to toss some gunpowder in here you can you know just funnel all of them You can do another war melon glowstone gunpowder in that order it’ll cue up in here and uh make your potions for you so don’t need to watch it and wait anymore i’ll just hit the switch to drop them just give it to count to three And then if any of these are still full fill them up again you can see the crap potions i just made some instant health here so that’s pretty much it i figured i’d just show you how i built this thing in my mind it’s very efficient and Fairly easy to make it doesn’t cost much it’s hopper intensive you can build this with three brewing stands three hoppers and however many droppers you need and then like i said if you want to make it fancier you can put the feeding and dropping mechanism and make potions that way since i’m Obsessed with automating everything i made a little bit more complicated so happy brewing Video Information

The first section shows the layout and the second shows how to build it. This design enables you to make 9 potions at a time with one button press per ingredient. This video was made for Minecraft 1.5.2. I came up with the design myself, although it is possible someone else has thought of a similar design.
