EPIC Flower Shop and Glassblower in Minecolonies #29

Hello my dudes and welcome back to by almost welcome back to Byzantine can I help you yeah you can Jensen so this this episode what we’re going to be doing is working on the retail District last episode we got the stone smelteries done and automation is fully going here

On the colony pretty cool pretty exciting this marks the dawn of a new age of bantine greatness so let’s jump in so yeah now we have these two Stone smelteries up and running we are storming through the bricks but I was reading the comment section and amazing

Thank you guys you saved me from a massive boo boo so apparently the stone smeltery is the one that makes charcoal and when you set the stone smeltery to to also use charcoal as fuel they get into this horrible Loop of making charcoal to fuel the making of the

Charcoal and before you know it all your stone smeltery does is smelt charcoal so we’re turning off charcoal for now and we’re going to use just regular Oak planks cuz this seems like a bit more of a sustainable thing to do but also we might as well teach them the recipe to

Make charcoal because I don’t think they can at the moment I always thought it was made somewhere else turns out it’s not so charcoal is oh yeah get to pick what kind of wood we want to put in there right now I should have some wood in my backpack somewhere I don’t so

Let’s see if there’s just some Oak knocking around that we can steal from someone uh hello you got any Oak KERO bits no there’s nothing for it I’m going to have to go and grab some so yeah we’re back over here at the stone smelter I’m going to go and turn one of

These into planks like that go over here go to the smelting recipes teacher recipe and we put oak logs in there and it turns into charcoal boom and has that worked let’s find out yeah there we go so now this guy knows how to make charcoal out of oak logs

Amazing and that’s another reason why the stone smelteries are so important and why it’s a good idea to have not enough room for my family to live here okay and why it’s a really good idea to have more than one because yeah making fuel is a big part of the

Colony what can I do for you so there we go now we need to make sure the Forester is actually going to be harvesting Oak and Spruce now luckily over here on the colony the only two Woods that are really used at all are Oak and Spruce and at the moment as you

Can see he is Storm whoa is he storming through these I mean there’s a lot of trees here but no digging I see what’s the problem derpus where’s theier oh he needs shears that reminds me I don’t think I’ve set the shears up at the blacksmith it’s

Been a long time since I went over there and I think think there’s a lot of things he should be doing so back over to Braven Boulevard and let’s track down this blacksmith here we go the blacksmith’s Hut and recipes and I guess we don’t have shears here yeah we don’t oh man

That’s a crazy oversight on my part so how do you spell shears is it s h e a yeah there we go shears boom you got the recipe uh I’ll give you a couple of the iron ingots I’ve got in my backpack oh no he’s got some in here

Perfect now we want make sure that this blacksmith is going to keep getting the metals he needs like copper and iron so let’s go over to the mine now double check things are going okay over there well the miner isn’t here which means he must be down in his mine hard

At work and since we keep seeing Metals appear in the warehouse he must be doing a great job down here right let’s go and take a look so down we go oh my God it’s the dropper oh I love it I I love that drop

Man the the the miner has done so much work down here it’s so cool to see this so let’s take a look at what he’s dug out oh my God it’s quite the Labyrinth down here what have you found over here warfish bit of platinum not great for me

Are you using a spade to oh right yeah gravel okay yeah cool you’re forgiven but one thing’s for sure this guy is finding loads of diamonds now what sucks is he’s not getting Cobblestone instead he’s only really getting this deep slate stuff but that’s a problem for later it

Looks like the miner is working hard and doing a good job so why have I got a bunch of iron ingots and a bunch of iron or in my backpack well we skipped it last episode but we’re going to head over to the university now and get some

Research done now before we head over there let’s take a quick look at the map so as you can see things are really coming along with our Colony you can see the big wall coming down here up the retail District going across here through the mountain and then over here

To the industrial area and this massive area that we’ve penned off for even more buildings amazing very exciting now in the end I reckon what we’re going to do is bring the wall up on top of the mountain over here come over here by this weird River thing and then bring it

Around for a nice kind of square approach yeah very cool so hello there tuppy let’s go in here and get some research configured now the zero research in progress amazing that means the previous research was done we’re going to go to technology and see if we

Can spend some of this iron ore now I need this iron ore pretty badly now here we go yeah here we this is going to be big minus find 15% more ores is going to mean we get even more iron so that’s one let’s see if we can find two

More now maybe it’s time to spend some of these iron ingots on some combat research as well we want to upgrade our Knights so that when the Raiders do come and we’ve been really lucky so far Raiders haven’t really kind of bothered us too much but we’re going to want to

Upgrade our dudes so they can handle whatever is coming now I reckon Parry Chance is going to be pretty big Knights arm 5% so we’ll do that as well in the end we kind of want to research everything so there’s never really a bad research to do and we’ll spend the

Remaining iron on iron skin for more durability on that armor that’s even more buffed boom so three researchers locked in money in the bank riperoni and pepperoni going through all my catchphrases now but it’s night time as well so let’s have a bit of a sleep and

There we go another day on The Colony now another thing I’m going to do before we head over to the retail District we’re getting a bit distracted but I’m kind of tired of having to keep check changing my tools so I’m going to go and

See if I can use the diamonds that we have now cuz we have loads to make myself a diamond paxel there we go a diamond paxel you need three of those tools and two sticks let’s do it it’s not the most efficient tool I should probably be using like silent gear or

Something to do this but it’ll do for now it’s a great multi-tool that’s just really handy to have on our toolbar now also what I’m going to do is use the stash over here to start unloading some of these things from my warehouse that I

Want to get into the colony for one we have a whole bunch of iron ore that can get smelted up and turned into guards armor and also it’s time to start going through some of these Spruce logs get them into the system as well because the warehouse and the carpenter needs loads

And loads of that but also there’s some granite in here yeah loads of that oh man there’s a lot to do but we can put it over here in the oak iron chest above and this will filter down into the stash and here you go you can see usagi Carlson is going to

Come and do a pickup amazing right so let’s think about what kind of buildings we one over at the retail District so right now we have the Fletcher and the bakery over there I think we’re going to want hm what else was it to be put over

There the glass blower would be great over in the retail District so we’ll put that down there as well now the dire Hut can we make the D Hut yet no need to do some research for that but of course the flower shop is a big one and I think we

Can do that now as well Boom the flower shop so let’s go and place these two buildings down see how much space they take up here we go now we do have have loads of room here but if we’re not careful we are going to run out pretty

Soon first thing we’re going to put down is the glass blower Hut because I’m thinking that might be a pretty big build so let’s take a look at this bad boy now this is the glass blowers Hut it’s pretty impressive as are most buildings in this

Pack and I think this is the front door yeah it looks pretty front Dory to me so this is Level 1 2 3 4 and five oh yeah this is a pretty cool looking building now it’s going to lean over a slight bit but I think that’s pretty okay you know

Now while we’re up here what I want to do as well is set the girls on upgrading these insula because basically yeah we’ve kind of run out of housing on the colony it’s crazy I know but these insulate only being I think what the level one or level two is really

Dragging us down so let’s see if we can find those blocks and get these upgraded ah there we go there’s one ah so this is only level one wow okay well we’re going to get the girls on this Molly Mo and ambreal so Molly muo upgrade this to level two

Okay that’s the insula done now let’s get on to building these actual buildings right so this is the glass blower let’s now take a look at the flower shop now this could be a very cool looking build pretty excited to see what this looks like and there we go

Yeah the flower shop now this looked pretty good in medieval Oak oh man yeah and in bisontine as well this looks pretty amazing now we don’t want it to mess with that building and it’s actually quite long oh my God it’s deep as well this is a huge huge building oh

Man so you know what this is so big I think we’re going to put it right the way down the end yeah because otherwise we’re just not going to have any room for it but where is the front door for this thing I don’t quite know I guess maybe

That’s the front door yeah that looks pretty front Dory to me yeah we’ll put this at the end the road can come down here through the middle then it can go to the right a little bit then to the left and then out the front gate that

Sounds pretty good to me we’re going to lower this down slightly there we go make sure it all fits within the walls looks pretty good so far this is level one 2 3 four and five oh man and look at this bad boy so much time and attention

Has got into this building it’s cool because some buildings you see and you think oh yeah that was a quick build and then some buildings you see and it’s like oh my God this must have taken forever and the attention to detail in this build is very impressive so level

One pull the trigger boom and let’s get the boys on this boom boom boom amazing right so the glass blower the flower shop and both of these insulate up to level two that’s going to give us 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 more housing spaces that’s

Great right so before this building gets going our Builders have a few things on their to-do list look at this so yeah ambriel hooes wants a block of copper trapo so yeah this is where the game kind of changes massively you kind of have to walk around now and make sure

All of your dudes have all the recipes they need to get everything built it’s a change of pace but it’s much easier than running around yourself making all of these bits and Bobs manually and eventually you do get to a point where you can just let a building go up and

Leave your Builders to it also another thing to get recipes much easier is you can take a look at requests and see what someone is looking for now it looks like Leo wants brick extra shingles the support material is beige bricks and the shingle material is Brick

Extra oh so you can select that it automatically puts it in here and then you can teach it oh my God that’s amazing that’s so much easier than what I was doing before well let’s go and see if the carpenter wants anything as well because that will speed things up

Massively oh man that’s such a quicker way of doing it but we can find out what people are looking for by going to the clipboard so what do you want a bucket a helmet brick wall which means we need bricks from the stonemason so the stonemason is waiting for bricks

And that must mean that the stone smeltery has yet to make the bricks or do we need to teach somebody how to make make the bricks I think maybe I forgot to teach the stonemason how to make bricks oh my God it gets very complicated at this point and a little

Bit laborious but it is still really cool so crafting recipes and we’ll make sure this guy knows how to actually make bricks cuz that feels like you know a bit of a bit of a rookie move to forget that one wait no hang on a sec so bricks

Into bricks is not a stonemason recipe so who who makes this oh my God it’s the mechanic of all people that’s crazy what’s the mechanic doing making bricks into bricks that does not sound like a mechanic thing no it doesn’t it’s not it’s not a mechanic thing well never

Mind we’ll leave him to it but it does mean we’re going to have to think about a mechanic now can we actually make mechanics Hut yet I think we’ve done the research and yeah the mechanics Hut is here so what we’re going to do first is we’re going to

Upgrade the town hall also to level four because at level four the town hall comes with a free mechanic now we are going to put down the mechanics building because there’s a really cool one called The Siege works but I do definitely want to get the town hall eventually all the

Way up to level five so let’s do that and we’ll let Jensen do this after he’s done the retail District but as you can see down here there should be a mechanics Hut somewhere yeah there it is Boom so that will happen in the background and we’ll

Need to make that Hut but for now what I’m going to do is go around grab the bits and Bobs that our Builders need to get the retail District done and let’s watch this time lapse build so the flower shop and the glass blowers Hut now when these are down this is

Basically going to be the entire retail District choca block there’s no real room anymore for any more buildings but I’m really going to enjoy decorating this area building a road that goes all the way through and perhaps putting down some Garden segments as well to liven the area up

And add a touch of nature now the glass blowers Hut is essential because most buildings use glass and it’s basically your One-Stop shop for all things glass related the flower shop is a little bit different it isn’t really used for construction although some building schematics do require flowers inside

Flower pots it’s good for that but the real strength is getting flowers for your doctor so he can use things like poppies and dandelions to cure disease but also the flower shop can make flowers for the apist Hut as well because as you guys know bees freaking love Flowers although maybe not as much as your girlfriend so maybe you should treat your girlfriend like a bee and go and pick her up a pack of Posies now we’re definitely running out of room for Citizens but these extra levels on the insula are going to give us a lot more colonists in the colony and what that means is we can cherry pick some better dudes to be our flower shop owner I guess or Gardener I don’t

Know what the title is going to be and our glass blower okay so it took some time but the flower shop and the glass blowers Hut are now fully ready to go they’re only level one but that’s still Level enough for us to get a dude in here wait a minute what’s

This ah no way so instead of just the massive Coliseum mystical site there’s also in the flower shop a little bit of a budget mystical site and this is really worth building because this is going to give us a bit of a happiness injection over at the colony oh and look

At this the materials to build this little mystical site are super easy to do so we’ll get I guess Leo on this and uh yeah get to it Leo and that makes me glad that I did that mystical site research so okay are we going to hire a flower shop dude well

No not yet because as you can see these buildings in the background as well the insula are slowly getting upgraded and I’ve seen those pop off as these buildings have been built so what we’re going to do now is go over to the tavern and see if we can fill some more of

These slots with some more dudes oh yeah love to see it so basically yeah we’re going to find some guys hanging around the tavern and get them in as our new flower shop owners so we got clouse halamine over here and Alex the tasty let’s take a look at how

Tasty they are though okay another quartz yeah we got that I think in the backpack boom what will it be get in the colony boom welcome to the crew also clouse over here what’s your what’s your cost what’s it today then ooh gold do we have any gold in the backpack no so

We’re going to leave clous for now but what about down here these colonists as they visit like to kind of w oh Lando be they like to wonder around and get a bit lost so yeah sunflowers we’ll get you in Lando B why not oh my

God Lando B ran off with my resources what a thug oh well it had to happen sooner or later witchy will Fester what is it hey Bales not too bad so we’ll get you in too now basically I’m just inviting everybody I can because we’re going to have so much

Room once those insula get upgraded that it shouldn’t be a problem um but that’s about it clouse halter yeah that’ll do so let’s oh wait they became an Archer all right yeah well that’s fine so let’s go and get these guys in their new roles we’re going to need a glass blower

First and we’ll pick from the new dudes we just hired so manage workers uh yeah default works but show employed and let’s see if we can find o so it doesn’t kind of sort them oh right they’re alphabetical I see so witchy wol Fester what’s your stats no no good for a glass

Blower never mind Alex the tasty on the other hand has great creativity so I reckon we’re going to hire her as a glass blower get her over over here what do you look like oh yeah I love it the gray hair it’s a bit of an old lady thing going on over

Here but I love it I love it welcome to the Colony oh yeah and of course make sure you put that hat on very cool very cool indeed okay now time for the flower shop and yeah witchy will Fester is not a great flower shop owner or florist

Right that’s what they called so yeah let’s see if we can pick somebody else from the knights or archers that has much better stats whoa look at this Shadow Fox long stuff has 20 agility and 15 deck it that makes him an amazing Archer but it also makes him an amazing

Florist so let’s get him over here and see what he looks like yeah okay so you look very similar to the composter in fact that might be exactly what the composter looks like but you know what that’s fine oh yeah and it’s great to see these residences

Going up now there’s one more thing I wanted to do oh wait yeah let’s get the buildings configured first so the glass blow works a lot like the Mason does they’ll need a smelting recipe to actually make the glass there it is boom and now you can

Make that into glass but we’re also going to teach you how to make red sand into glass as well because we might get some of that down the line who knows so now they know how to smelt glass now we’re going to teach them how to make

Glass panes and it’s very simple six glass makes glass panes boom now they know how to make that so there’s also some domum ornamentum recipes that we’re going to have to look for as well so this building is quite complicated it also needs fuel as well this thing needs

Absolutely everything so we’re going to set charcoal over here because yeah it’s a good use for that charcoal and the glass blower isn’t going to see too much action it’s a building That’s essential but not many buildings have a lot of glass so you don’t need to worry too

Much about this thing being super high level but yeah custom recipes here we go so we’re going to want to put glass in here obviously boom teach that and then put glass in the second one as well boom teach that take a look over here at the request to see if there’s

Anything open no there isn’t that’s good to know and that kind of should be everything we need glass wise if there’s anything else that crops up like maybe some glass with like a golden frame I can see that happening we’ll come over here and make sure that’s in the recipes

As well but for now we’ll leave this to brew but that’s the glass blow pretty much configured now what about the flower shop so this is a little bit more complex well not really more complex actually but it’s a lot slower the flower shop takes forever to make what

He makes but you can see over here under the plantables tab you have a list of the things he can grow so at the moment it’s just poppies and dandy lines I think as he gets higher level he gets more things that he can plant in his

Pots but for now this is going to be great these are the essentials that are needed to cure the flu Oh wait is he doing it is he doing it now so one thing the flower shop does go through a lot is compost and there’s no setting to turn

This off so it really is essential that you get lots of composters Huts down at high levels because yeah the flower shop really does drink compost so what are we going to do now well I was thinking about this basically I want to get my build tool and I’ve

Been thinking that we need a great way for our Builders to get from over there over to this side of the river and I thought what about a kind of Aqueduct now bear with me I think this is going to be pretty cool but what

We’re going to do is we’re going to put an aqueduct that goes from this hill over here past those guard towers and up over to that path maybe up past the hospital what that’s going to do is we can basically remove the water from the

Aqueduct or just not put it in there at all and then put rails in there instead that way the colonists are going to zip around on Rails inside the aqueduct that sounds pretty cool but let’s see if it works so basically we’re going to have to find the decoration for aqueducts it

Should be in here somewhere there we go Aqueduct and let’s take a look so the numbers I think dictate the length so we’re going to want a really long Aqueduct 13 blocks long wait it’s not actually 13 blocks long no but it looks very cool and what we can do is have this

Aqueduct end in like a little bit of a pond or a sister or something over here and just Bridge it over there past those guard towers going to move it along slightly but we don’t want to clash with the restaurant too much there we go that

Looks good to me and it doesn’t look like it’s interfering with the restaurant at all so we’ll pull the trigger on this boom so now we’ve got to put the Builder’s goggles on and and see if we can map a pretty decent looking Aqueduct because basically having a way to get

Across the river very quickly is going to speed up our Builder’s loads so let’s get to it so as I was building the aqueduct I realized that the numbers are not for the length of the aqueduct but the height and you can basically stagger them down from 12 11 10 9 to basically

Drag your aqueducts from the floor really high up and it’s a really cool Thing so yeah looking pretty good good now it’s a bit Rough and Ready there’s a lot of improvements I need to do to this whole Aqueduct system but so far so good it looks pretty cool now there’s no rail in here yet but already we are seeing the benefits because I’ve seen the

Builders come back and forth across this Aqueduct already because it is a much quicker way across this River from their Builder Huts okay locked and loaded so we have so many build projects now going on we’ve got two Builder Huts over there two Builder Huts over here I’m even

Thinking that we might even want a couple more builder Huts over by by the restaurant because you know what maybe five or six Builder Huts would be a really good number that way we can start upgrading almost everything on the colony and just leave it to do it in the

Background now there’s one thing that hasn’t quite completed basically I set up this Warehouse to be upgraded to level four last episode but the Builder didn’t finish it I had to pull him away to do the flower shop but now we can go back here and set him up again well my

Built at the flower shop too that’s going to be great for happiness and also we’ve got this really amazing aquid that you can see in the distance behind me pretty cool looking that functions as kind of like a railway line for our Builders to get across from the hospital area over to

The retail District that’s really powerful I’m thinking I might splash some more of these aqueducts around but I’m going to be very careful because they can look a little bit messy and I don’t want the colony to look too congested with aqueducts absolutely everywhere so a massive thank you for
