Version candidate

Release candidates mark the final testing phase for Minecraft Java Edition updates, allowing players to identify last-minute bugs before official launch.

Mojang announces RCs with detailed changelogs, often following pre-releases, and community feedback shapes the stable version.

Notable examples include multiple RCs for major updates like 1.21 and 1.20.5, covered in release notes and gameplay breakdowns.
