The massive Minecraft server update adds a forced texture pack with 800 textures, a gear loadout system that actually works, and a new security quest. It also needed emergency maintenance hours after going live.

If you play Hypixel SkyBlock you already know how painful inventory management gets once you have more than a couple of specialized setups. Update 0.26 finally does something about it. The patch released earlier this week brings a proper loadouts system a brand new official resource pack and a quest that tries to stop players from falling for scams.
According to the development post the update went live on July 8 but quickly ran into problems. An emergency maintenance fixed bugs that let some players rack up two billion enchantment powder and other exploits. Affected accounts had their progress reversed and the team extended an ongoing raffle as apology.
The Forced Resource Pack
This is the first official SkyBlock resource pack. It ships with over 800 textures focused on weapons tools and miscellaneous items. It is force enabled with no option to disable it. The team promises frequent updates based on player feedback and has already made over 100 changes since the alpha version.

They also say they will keep supporting community made packs including ones that revert textures to the old style. The license is permissive and the pack can be pulled via API for other creators. Still forcing a pack on a server this big is a bold move that is already rubbing some veterans the wrong way.
Loadouts Finally Done Right
The new loadout menu lets you save complete gear configurations including armor equipment pet accessory power stone tuning points and even HotM and HotF setups. You access it with a command or menu and can edit through the existing wardrobe and equipment wardrobe interfaces.

- Default of four wardrobe slots with the first tuning free
- HotM and HotF loadouts have a ten minute swap cooldown
- Saves almost everything that matters for different activities
- Long overdue for a mode built around constant gear swapping
Security Quest and Other Changes
A new quest teaches newer players about phishing and account security. Completing it gives a soulbound Booster Cookie and a special accessory. The team says more improvements to the Security Hall are coming and they updated their support article on the topic.

Other changes include the ability to remove any enchantment from the menu a rework to the Golden Dragon perk that buffs Midas items and several bug fixes for slayer spawns pet skins and more. Support for two older Minecraft versions was dropped.
This update includes the long awaited SkyBlock Resource Pack a Loadouts system for easier storage of your gear and a new quest that teaches you how to keep your account secure.
The update is live now. If you have not logged in since the patch expect to download the new pack on launch and start playing with loadouts immediately. The Hypixel team has a track record of iterating fast so feedback posted in the next few days will likely shape the next patches.
