Small tweaks over time but a huge change they decide to make in this update that was in previous ones is they decide to make caves actually cluster together so instead of having caves randomly spawn across the entire world it’s gonna get dark in here let’s just pretend we can

See cuz we we basically can right okay there’s no brightness back in these days we’re living in the dark ages I guess quite literally but yeah the interesting about caves is they decided to make some Robin spawn randomly they’d be more likely to spawn if other caves were nearby so they clustered together

They would spawn in big groups to get all man this is a cool cave down here I guess it’s gonna kill me though so this led to make cave spawn together which led to these caves that you could actually explore and get deeper and deeper you can see I’ve got quite some

Distance down here whoa you can’t actually see anything but you can imagine I’ve gone quite some distance down this cave and that was one of the best things about em depth they made it so it caves were robbing shipping these random things you could explore and hopefully find multiple together because

Just statistically that’s how work they try to make them actually spawn together and actually create these cool clusters that would lead you to sometimes secrets and sometimes just a dark room at the end for tunnel where you can’t see anything so yeah that’s minecraft instead a

There are more ores in the cave walls and this is true even to this day because that’s how caving naturally feels to most people you are met you know you don’t feel like you should find ores looking in the floor which seems kind of weird people are in the ceiling

Even though that’s kind of how it works so it made the game feel more like natural they decide to put those things in the walls and instead of the floor and ceiling did you see that ludicrous display last night from with Arsenal as they always try to walk it in

At really changing case in any significant way and the reason that this update changed caves wasn’t even a big one but it is one that still has its residual impact on Minecraft today because they changed caves from mostly spawning you know like meteors in the you know in a block that will spawn

Fallen to actually spawning in any you know will block if it could although there are some blocks that will still form in the floor like this is technically the floor right and thaws where possible will Tran spawn in the walls and this is a big change in the

Cave game because then this means that when you go mining you look at the you know that the cave wars like over here for instance and yet that changed things quite significantly but this was the last major change they made to caves they made a lot of indirect chains

Changes to the underground experiences like oh yeah they made it so ravines could intersect of caves and that’s a whole new thing then they made it so that I found a mine shafts with insect of caves and all of these things were big changes they also happened in 2011

Again reminder this update bait 1.2 is from early 2011 beta 1.8 the last big changes was in early it was in later 2011 but still 2011 its 2018 right now you know current year and yet still so many of the same things about you remained in place and although some

Things have changed since then it’s mostly been about oh yeah we added new biomes we made it so Mesa our caves would have red sandstone that’s not really a new feature really is that’s not a change to the way caves work well the way caves are explored its just oh

Yeah there’s now red sandstone caves you know they added things such as you know like again different cave entrances for different biomes and but again it’s just oh yeah being able to enter a cave even when you’re in a tiger prime it sounds great on the surface but it’s not

Really any cave change and that is the last seven years of cave stuff in fact the only change that you can really point to us saying this was a big moment for underground caving is in the aquatic update me 1.13 update seven years after this update right here where they made

It so you could finally find caves underwater again after a long period cuz they existed before and they’re basically Minecraft as it existed there and minecraft and the caves as they existed in this update have largely remained too current day with just small tweaks here and there but no major ones that made

Any particular change locks and that’s why I wanted to kind of raise this video that’s just the point of like you know minecraft caves they they’re they’re wonderful they’re there’s so much about them that makes them a key pop why minecraft is dean of guess warded school
