Minecraft – Build Tools Tutorial & Demo

All right so adam and i are here today to demonstrate something new that we’ve uh given are going to be giving to our creative users all our good little donators basically we’re going to give you guys a new tool to use to help you build in with all your fancy little designs and

Creations razz made it it’s called build tools and this is our quick little tutorial all right do you want to give a quick demonstration of what’s possible and then we’ll go through how we can do that so to do something really basic i can just come over here and just place one here

And we go over here we go yeah this will do oh nice pillar i forgot to prepare this that’s all right i’m gonna do that lovely we have a nice cube of stone oh we have our first audience member addie audience member oh hello looks like a spiderman

It’s a deadpool i think no it’s not it’s okay yet from a distance it looks like spiderman sorry oh deathstroke some some sort of death anyways and so i can do uh some other basic stuff so obviously just to make the cube it’s kind of seems a bit simple

But i can also do some cool effects like i can break that one there and go over here and i can say oh i want this cut out here oh that’s a nice little one and boom you like that it’s very nice yes i’ll just make a little roof

I think we’ll go through some of the how this is all achieved and what it’s done so if you we’ve raz has put together a nice little menu for ease of use for this um if you type in it’s called build tool so if i type in

Btm which is build tools menu comes up with a fancy little menu you got a button to enable it and disable it now you can get the help book which i just love spamming anyway but if you feel like reading it that’s got some more detailed explanations of all

The different things you can do with it um but basically with this you can just set the type of uh generation you want to make so if we go through here and what adds just on over there with these stones he’s made a cuboid type so if i quickly set that and

Pattern type i’ll just make it a none we’ll just leave it at that simple and how to use it you set two opposite corners with uh the block you want to make the the cuboid out of so if i click there with that stone go over here while holding shift it

Doesn’t record what i’m doing so if i hold shift and jump up like this and i can set where how i want to go then place the stone and there we go it makes a nice little cube in those two opposite corners now to get rid of that you do the

Opposite of that which i believe is uh just breaking the block isn’t it yeah just break the two corners yep that’s right that’s it break on both corners yep yep so that’s what i did to get rid of that so if i quickly just put this back jump up

Put it back and if i just say break one and down here somewhere it’ll just take out that wedge so yeah um if you use another block in replace of it and go uh break one corner first and then place it on the other one so if i hold shift here

To get rid of this corner and then i let go of shift and in place it replaces all the stone with grass which is the block i was holding which is the replace function it’s a bit hard to see because it’s on grass yeah sorry i should have picked a better

Clip all right guys whoever’s out there pick a nice fancy block anything that’s pretty and you want to see being generated with hold it in your hand i’ll hold it in your hand all right close it up sounds good oh diamond yeah diamond glow stain all right

Oh diamond and glowstone do you like my sun by the way that’s awesome oh yeah you can generate sphere uh yes fears so adam’s got a nice little thing going over there all right so um that’s the basic use of it so you can with all the different types you do it’s

Just placing the block in the corner you want then going over to where else you want to have it go to and then there boom okay now if you make a mistake or you don’t like what you’ve done you can just do either go to your menu and go to

Click the undo button and undoes it or you can type in bt undo if you want to put it back the same opposite of that just bt redo you just keep doing until the changes are back but um i think what you reckon that will show

Off some of the main reasons why this is going to be an incredible tool instead of just making silly little cubes of grass and stone and gold pyramids all right so if you want to so if you want to clear the plot we’ll do a big one of this for the audience

That’s watching now we go back to our menu we’ll go to types now this is my favorite terrain so you can generate terrain where it gets a bit more interesting uh we’ve got pattern types terrain has none which is fair enough it does plenty but the main thing you want

To do is the type settings now if you double click this you can change the smoothness you can set true or false for the smooth edge or if you want a specific seed or use using a certain seed to do the same sort of generation you can type

That in but if you just leave it blank it’ll do a random one for you which is what i generally do now let’s type in a smoothness i think if we did a 60 smoothness to false i guess we’ll type 60 is pretty smooth natural looking to terrain

Yeah that’s pretty good all right so we’ll we’ll do this we’ll do some diamonds natural diamond block terrain all right so if i put this one here added point just my selection i go all the way over here we’ll do this one pretty tall i think we’ll do some fancy stuff with this

All right sure holding shift and i jump and place my blocks up high so it doesn’t record what i’m doing so shift as always uh not recording what you what place you want to do all right that’ll be tall enough all right let’s generate this it looks good oh look at that

Beautiful oh that is awesome and actually if you undo that you can show what it would look like if you smooth the edges all right let’s do that then so i undid that all right let’s go back to the menu we’re still on terrain type uh let’s do i’ll do some smoothing this

More do say 80 and i’ll go true all right let’s go over here to the corner again i already got my tower left let’s see what this looks like oh that’s cool so the true left these these corners sort of smoothed out instead of having a big sort of cuboid which is nice

But yeah so that’s generating terrain now if we use the glowstone which is what they said we’ll do something else we’ll go build tools menu we’ll go to the type and we’ll go what do you reckon overlay why not an overlay yeah you can do a random pattern

Oh yeah and we can go to the pattern types and we can go to yeah random random type that’s something to show off pattern settings so you can get like a spray of glue sticking all over it what do you reckon about a 70 chance or

Do you want to go lower than 50. oh no much lower maybe like 20 20 20 chance maybe even less because that’s a lot of glowstone yeah set it to set a day all right so how tall do you want this to actually go cover the whole thing or just the top

One oh probably the yeah yeah cover the whole thing okay why not hold shift then i can place my glasses on that corner go to my other pillow that’s still here oh oh wow that’s so ugly but yeah beautiful you guys you need to give us better

Blocks than glystein but as you can see it did a random generation of glowstone between those two points but we’ll i think we’ll undo that that looks amazing what i like that one for i like that this cover with snowy i like the snow it’s not so good with the diamond but it

Doesn’t yeah what i will do it looks alright i will go to cuboid again all right so let’s replace the grass i gotta click once and while you’re doing that i’m going to prepare one above everything unless you’re planning to do that no no no no there we go

So now players can change their well their plot bottoms from grass to whatever they want straight away yep easily now i’m choosing to use the terrain blob it has a strange name but it has an explanation about how it works and you’ll you’ll see that it’ll be pretty obvious terrain blobs

Creates cave-like blobs these aren’t quite the minecraft style vanilla caves for more for cutting into terrain all right i do know what this is now and it is really cool effects and patterns all right here we go you’re not in the plot this time no okay cool tada much nicer

Big blobs of glass but yeah so that’s kind of that’s cool so that’s basically what you can do with it so we’ll quickly clear this plot and just 100 go through it really quickly and i’ll uh i can show you also making a a house really quickly yeah

Because you know there’s lots of houses get used in rp and it’s nice to be able to just make one quickly yeah for sure so i’m just using the cuboid and the pattern i’ll be using is hollow yeah are you up in the air

Are you up in the air yep i’ll do it on the ground though or are you planning something just do it on my train then all right i’m going to make a house right here this is my home yep and as you can see quickly you can there’s a cave generator for

Standard caves there’s copy and paste so you can copy and paste your building so you don’t have to do them all over this you can make cylinders um spheres and yeah so we’re not gonna do a tutorial on all of that you guys can sort of

Use a bit of experimentation to find out what they can do and what you can you know make with it break and then place it so replace it yes there we go and now i’ve overlaid i’ve replaced those blocks with grass okay and you have a house brilliant

So i think that’s yeah all done i mean it’s it’s very very pretty i might must say well it’s my house i’m i’m quite the designer so this is what res made one of the things that res made as you can see he’s got a terrain which we were playing with before inside

The plot um he’s did a i believe it was a cave generator or a cave a terrain block i think so i think you’ve made it and then cut it out yeah with a cave yeah so he used the cave in that to replace the glass uh the grass and dirt with um

With the cave of air um as you can see he’s overlaid the stone with grass he’s made this i’m not 100 sure how he done that i think he made a lot of a really um like the smoothness setting was set to like 10 or something and he did a small

One in there then he started doing some cutouts with spheres and uh caves and stuff to make that interesting then obviously obviously overlaid it yeah i can’t remember i don’t remember all the details that he did there all right now you can see over here he made a snow globe

This one was very complicated this one’s cool this doesn’t look complicated but this is took him ages to do we had to do a lot of trimming and getting all the grass and stuff outside of the snow globe in but he’s got his little ecosystem in there if you’re wondering

How he did that stone framework you’ll just have to play with the sphere the settings there are some very fun settings in there with the sphere like random or a certain setting called frame which i did mention secretly yes i think that’s frame isn’t it it’s frame yeah

But yeah just have to find out and play with it and see what you get um so every um everything we’ve like we did with the demo it’s uh that’s only just the basics so you can do a lot so so you guys will just have to play

With all the different settings and see what you come up with exactly so hopefully you enjoy this free little tool we’re gonna let you play with and enjoy you
