TwitchCon Europe 2026 kicks off at the end of May in the Netherlands and Mojang is going all in with streamer meetups, interactive builds, and a new cape you can only earn by showing up and participating.
The announcement dropped hard this week. TwitchCon Rotterdam is getting a full Minecraft takeover complete with an arena, community meetups, streamer appearances, and hands-on experiences that go beyond standard booth stuff. Attendees who engage with the Minecraft content throughout the weekend will unlock an exclusive in-game cape code.
The cape actually looks decent
Videos surfacing today show the new trail cape design. It builds on the recent cape revival trend but this one is strictly for people who buy tickets and show up in Rotterdam. One version requires physical attendance while a free variant may drop later for the wider playerbase. The texture incorporates classic Minecraft elements with a modern trail effect that actually fits the game instead of feeling tacked on.
Tubbo is already hosting “The Midoffs Live” on site and the schedule lists multiple Minecraft-focused panels and activities. This is not some half-hearted sponsorship. Mojang is treating it like the old Minecon days when thousands of players converged in one building and the energy was impossible to replicate online.
Tickets are on sale and the Minecraft wiki page already details the two-day run at Rotterdam Ahoy. If you are in Europe or can travel, this is the closest thing to a proper Minecraft convention we have seen since the pandemic killed the old format. The cape is the carrot but the real draw is the offline multiplayer scene finally getting a proper venue again.
