Official Minecraft.net post confirms Vibrant Visuals as the default experience with enhanced lighting and shadows plus an updated Super Mario Mash-Up pack and a digital upgrade path for existing Switch owners.
Mojang just gave Switch 2 owners a firm date. Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2 arrives October 27 with a native build that finally uses the hardware instead of the previous portable version.
Vibrant Visuals becomes the default
The biggest change is Vibrant Visuals turned on by default. Expect better lighting, shadow effects, reflections, water, and volumetric fog across supported worlds and Marketplace content. The original Switch version did not support the full feature set in the same way.

The Super Mario Mash-Up pack exclusive to Nintendo platforms is also getting refreshed assets tuned for the new visuals. Players can expect updated Mario-themed worlds, skins, and music that look sharper on the Switch 2 hardware.
If you already own Minecraft on the original Nintendo Switch a digital upgrade path will be available. Save data carries over though exact pricing has not been revealed yet. Details are expected closer to launch.
