1000k gang welcome back minecraft guide episode number 107 we start with storage building renovation it’s been so long it’s been way too long and storage building is the same crusty dusty old place it’s not good additionally in between episodes i was hit with an ultimatum in between episodes the council of cats Gave me an ultimatum renovate the storage building or get evicted i don’t really want to move so renovate the storage building it is now today’s renovations are definitely permanent renovations and and also renovations that i’ve been meaning to make for a long time they’re definitely worth it they’re also Pretty easy to do so check this out brand new wall right here at the top the back of the storage building we should be able to see this stuff from down there on the ground by the table that’s the important part now this isn’t just any wall no No no way check this out map right there that map was down by the fireplace now it’s gonna be up here but wait wait wait wait it gets even better we have other maps too and maps they don’t belong inside of a chest no they they definitely belong in A wall they’re really cool looking and most of these maps not all of them but most of them are actually built in so now brand new map wall right here council of cats you can hear them cheering from here but can we see it from the ground on Here like like can we actually see the map wall oh we can it needs a better side blocks but we can see the map wall oh that’s amazing so speaking of maps today’s episode we’re gonna explore a little bit more we’ve been doing really good with the exploration i’d Like to head off onto a new map and see what we can find but i still feel like a plain old exploration episode would be not good so we’re going to talk about some other things too mainly patrols boom so much better that’s a good map wall Solid alright so check out the map wall the center map is fully filled in the map above that’s where we just went that’s fully filled in over there the snowy tundra it’s a snowy tundra i don’t want to check out over there i’m thinking today we start Right there with that map that’s not filled in and then maybe we go above it because if we’re going to talk about patrols we’re going to need to be on a lot of land mainly mostly land hopefully this map right there is gonna be mostly land if not i Feel like this one should be i mean that’s a solid land border right there if there’s an ocean uh bad things are gonna happen today we’re gonna have three goals gamers fill in the map explore it check it out mark things that counts as one goal we Also need to find a patrol at some point which means we might not be able to fly the whole time because if i fly i might end up actually just completely missing the patrol which could be really really bad we need to at least visualize one single patrol and take it out and Boom just like that we’re on the new map already easy sail is straight across the ocean the jungle is like right back that way i actually left the original map at home i hope that wasn’t a mistake but here we are land sweet land and it looks Like this area has been colonized by the bee kingdom over here doing well doing well i am just an ambassador passing through the nice thing about patrols is the fact that they can spawn literally anywhere as long as they’re solid blocks so any biome that’s gonna work it’s gonna be good Except the mushroom island biome which hey if we can find one of those that would be that would be pretty nice then we could forget about patrols oh they’re living they’re livid they’re living no poor sheep poor sheep go go go go go go no no no No how good you monster ah yes and goal number three goal number three today is gonna be dropping a like on this video leaving a like our way through this savage forest let’s talk a little bit about patrols what’s a patrol a patrol is a group of pill leaders or on betarock edition a group of villagers on bedrock vindicators on hard difficulty can actually be in Patrols it’s pretty sweet i like challenge and vindicators the axe guys the ones that i called the evokers constantly a couple episodes ago yeah those guys are challenging they’re honestly maybe even more challenging than the magic ones magic ones aren’t that bad to me the axes though they terrify me they scare Me so much and on bedrock oh they have it good they could randomly be in patrol just wandering across your world it had so much spice so much challenge it’s so cool meanwhile over here on java edition patrols are just really not a challenge at all especially at this Point in the game when you’re doing well like it’s gonna be a group of pillagers just a small handful of them and it’s not bad it’s literally just crossbows you can just take them out pretty easily it’s not that bad the trickiest part about a patrol is the random bad omen Effect if you have a base like me with villagers all over the place and then you end up getting uh the battlement effect and wait hold on this is a gigantic sunflower planes and this map was filled in like how did i not see this before what like like it’s literally partially Filled in and i searched for the sunflower i mean we already have this stuff what what huh anyways if you have a base like me villagers all over the place patrols are potentially pretty dangerous because of what they can cause inside of a patrol there will always be One pillager captain the banner head if you take the banner head out you’re gonna get the bad omen effect and bad omen is gonna trigger a right i don’t know if we’ll do it i’ve considered it but a raid in the jungle that would be an absolute disaster that Would be really really bad and i don’t know if i want to experience it but at the same time i kind of want to experience it hey a ruined portal so let’s become a night time right now which means we should sleep because we don’t really want to Explore at night time and also patrols actually can’t spawn at night time patrols can only spawn in the day anything good anything good anything good there’s a block of gold i will take that think no okay i could save good save okay okay anything else over here uh ooh golden carrots those Are tasty those are good clock uh mending do i bring this garbage home i think i will mark this instead and look at that who is he i have a stack of black wool today we’re ready to mark literally everything is going to go so well perfect thing number one So pillager captain patrol captain banner head gives you the bad omen there is one tricky way around the battlemen patrol effect though and that is have the other patrollers take out the patrol captain with the bad omen so you don’t get the bad omen they get The bad omen then you just take them out problem solved i’ll show you later when we find a patrol patrol spotting is based off of two things really aside from the difficulty of the game and game rules there is a game rule to stop patrol spawning entirely If you don’t like it on peaceful difficulty because it’s peaceful and patrols are not peaceful definitely not the patrols aren’t actually going to spawn so if you’re tired of patrols peaceful difficulty game world do patrol spawning false one of those once your world reaches 100 minutes old or five in game days old Patrols can actually spawn so after those first 100 minutes if you’re really lucky or unlucky depending on what you’re looking for you’ll find a patrol spawn in your world after that there’s going to be a 10 to 11 minute delay then a patrol can try and spawn again Hold on is this world like a literal giant jungle jungle number two over here there’s no way this jungle is connected it’s separated by an ocean jungle number two of the world wow that’s amazing maybe we could find a second mesa oh it’s a good jungle too this is a solid jungle It’s like sizeable right here next to the plane smile this is just like home sweet home except there’s a gigantic sweet looking mountain so it’s even better but here’s the thing every single time a patrol tries to spawn a patrol won’t necessarily spawn patrol spawning only has a 20 Success rate which means more times than not a patrol is actually going to fail to spawn when it fails to spawn that timer is reset so you start the whole 10 minute clock again and then after 10 or 11 minutes is going to try and spawn another patrol and Hopefully hopefully eventually it will work please i’m like getting too desperate i just want to see a patrol today i just really hope we can see one oh what’s this a wild bee nest it’s been so long since i’ve seen one i get so tempted to take it home and Just put it inside of the b building because they’re so nice looking but that would ruin the natural habitat these bees would be homeless i could never do it to the b kingdom they’ve reached all the way over to here though this is great oh yeah ruin portal Number two gold so we have that whole timer clock thing but that’s only half of it the other big piece of the equation is gonna have to do with the player where the player is and what’s actually around the player look at this chart it’s a cool looking chart i got it from The minecraft wiki if i had to use my art interpretation skills on this thing i would assume that the red means no patrol green means yes patrol and the dark green areas patrol captain can spawn and the like green areas patrol reinforcements will spawn we’ll talk a little bit more about this Charred and patrol spawning in a second though how about stopping patrol spawning to be honest it’s kind of shocking how picky these things are i mean it’s a literal group of pillagers out for destruction they want nothing else but villagers gone iron golems gone wandering traitor gone that’s fine though But they’re so picky for example they won’t spawn at night time nighttime is not good oh my gosh that’s an amazing looking mountain that thing is so beautiful that’s really good looking look at how cool that is like what like what like that’s so good looking anyways i was saying you can completely Cut out their spawning by lighting up an area if the light level is greater than seven then a patrol can’t spawn so they’re kind of just like zombies creepers all of those other hostile mobs all you need to do is light up an area to be clear though this is going to be The black light level so you’re going to need light like torches or lanterns not just the sun i’m marking this place on the map though it’s so amazing like look at how high up we are like it just is it’s literally perfect like if a patrol spawned like right there i Would see it right now this is like just so cool if i found this before we made our base i would have literally made my base around this thing like it’s just so cool if you have an idea what to do with that giant rock behind me Let me know please this is so cool i i need ideas oh boy and the last map we found villagers on this map we find ruined portals ruin portal number three of today this one is very ruined it’s a hanging portal let’s see what we have do we have anything good Uh gold black gold nuggets iron nuggets even better gold nuggets nice another interesting way to stop patrol spawning to say the least is with their sworn enemy the villager pillagers they’re literally armed with crossbows or if you’re on bedrock edition you get a vindicator in the patrol too Easily could wipe out a village if there’s no iron golem but at the same time if the player is anywhere near a villager we’re talking within two chunks then a patrol just can’t spawn that’s some interesting lore stuff right there are patrols hunting villagers because they stop them from spawning Yeah so from a gameplay standpoint it totally makes sense if a player is inside of a village a patrol probably shouldn’t spawn walk into the village and create a problem for the player you’d have to deal with a raid all of a sudden it wouldn’t be fun but yeah so that’s gonna Be if you have a base like ours with villagers literally all over the place then you’re completely immune to patrol spawning which is why patrol’s never smart at the base in fact the last time i think i saw a patrol spawn over there was when i was working on that gigantic temple Uh uh two patrols or maybe three spawned while i was working on that thing like far away from everything else still kind of close to the villager breeder but yeah two chunks from a village is gonna be that number and for a village all you literally need is a villager A workstation a bed that’s literally it now let’s say at some point a patrol does actually manage to spawn what’s going to happen well the game is going to pick a random location 24 to 48 blocks away from the player and try and spawn the patrol’s captain remember that chart from earlier that’s What this part is all about on java edition the patrol is gonna be five pillagers but it could actually end up being more if the captain of the patrol can spawn the game is gonna try and spawn one plus the local difficulty rounded up more pillagers within a four block radius That chart again to be honest local difficulty is kind of a complex mechanic you could check it in your f3 screen it’s right there earlier when i was back over the base hadn’t left the base in a little while i took this screenshot my local difficulty was Six point something whatever it is in the screenshot the max local difficulty that you can have is gonna be 6.75 which basically means the biggest patrol that you could have i i think is going to be one plus 6.75 7.75 rounded up which is gonna be eight Plus the five on java that you get already 13. 13. if everything’s right 13 pillagers if you’re not ready that could be kind of bad i’m currently in the middle of a gigantic flower forest bomb it’s not the whoa whoa that’s crazy that’s crazy this isn’t the first flower forest biome we Obviously lived in one before but wow look at that that’s so cool looking what is that lighting glitch that’s like the og like lighting glitches oh they’re so cool looking this game is amazing look at this it’s so weird it’s like obviously a glitch what is so cool Once the patrol spawns it’s going to move the patrol is going to follow the patrol captain the banner head they’re just going to walk and walk and walk and if they walk far enough they’ll just despawn they’ll go away if they walk close enough to you or a Villager or anything that they don’t like they’re gonna try and attack those things other way around too if you move close enough to the patrol they’re gonna stop and watch you move and then if you keep moving closer to them they’re gonna get angry and attack you well well well would you Look at where we are again ruin portal again number four here’s the loot oh no way no way there’s another one like literally right over here too even more loot but for patrols basic mechanics of them how they work everything like that that’s actually basically it i think we’ve basically talked about literally Everything it’s a group of pillagers they spawn they don’t like you but you can stop them from spawning pretty easily and they don’t spawn anywhere in my world maybe honestly trying to find a patrol while exploring was like the worst idea ever see more often than not either the patrol is Going to fail or it’s going to spawn somewhere and just move past you because they kind of spawn a little bit of a ways away from you and they could just walk like literally like right past you like while you’re building something or under the ground like doing something or Or literally anything like that yeah if you’ve been in your world for any time at all and you haven’t seen one for some reason i guarantee i almost guarantee that one is spawned and it’s just walked right past you and you didn’t even know what we’re Talking about petrosso i have to say it patrols are one of my least favorite features kind of kind of i mean look i love the idea of them they’re really really cool the thing that i don’t like about them is how much they’ve been nerfed so when patrols were first added And they were added in 1.14 in the first snapshot they were added though ravagers could spawn with patrols now ravagers eventually got the ability to just plow right through leaves so definitely good the ravagers aren’t in patrols that would be really really bad imagine one spawning in the jungle Like before we had the villagers it just walks through and clears all the leaves out it would be a tragedy there would be no point in building in a jungle the problem is in minecraft 1.14.3 on java on hard difficulty vindicators were removed for some reason from patrols so back in minecraft 1.14 14.1 14.2 patrols could spawn but on hard difficulty they could spawn with vindicators too kind of like they can on bedrock edition on bedrock if your difficulty is hard you can get a vindicator if your difficulty is normal it’s just going to be the crossbow things This is amazing that is like the best coolest thing in the world because vindicators look like i said they’re so scary they’re like they’re dangerous the axes they’re really strong sure you could say that a vindicator could easily clean up an entire village but patrols don’t really spawn anywhere near villages or Villagers anymore so they’re not really a threat to those things they’re more of a threat to the player and if that’s true which it is then why no vindicator on hard difficulty why hawaii is so sad is so tragic it could have been so cool we could have had it all It could have been literally perfect with a vindicator in the patrol too and then it’s actually kind of scary at this point in the game and i have to like take it seriously but instead i could just hide and they’ll just walk right past me Most likely it and leave or i could just charge up even with just the elytra on no armor like i took it all off threw it on the ground threw it into lava actually and took out the patrol with just a crossbow guys wouldn’t be a problem at all Don’t sweat it patrols were nerfed big time bad time and it makes me very sad they were so cool with the vindicators spawning with the patrols they made them like really really dangerous and and i just hope that like one day they could like bring that back on hard Difficulty only like i get it maybe on easy difficulty no vindicator that would be kind of crazy but on hard difficulty come on come on imagine it on hardcore imagine how terrifying a patrol would be on hardcore if you find one you don’t have the totem yet And and then it has a like two vindicators in it that would be so bad if you’re ever looking for a patrol to spawn intentionally like you don’t want to miss it the best place to do that would be something like a plane’s bomb or something that is just Really flat and open maybe the desert would be a good spot too where there’s like no mountains at all where you can just see like all around you you can see everything and you can basically stand in one spot and just keep looking around and looking and looking And hopefully eventually a patrol will spawn but even in an open spot where you can see everything because of how patrol spawning works this process could definitely take some time elites a tragedy has struck us this is a tragic moment i’ve waited around in this field on this mighty pillar right here For an entire day which means patrol spawning chance definitely tried during that whole day at some point and nothing not a single drop of a patrol my heart is is in pieces all over this field this is bad this is worse than when the noted name burned down This is bad there is only one solution Raid time let’s go quick golems quick golems quick heal up heal appeal for the big battle it’s coming it’s coming it’s starting now oh this isn’t good this isn’t good at all i haven’t even prepared i haven’t even prepared and wave number one is here in the town attacking this is not good They don’t even need my help anymore you’ve grown so much you’re going down into the mines to get them yourself you’re so smart i got it for you though i got it i got it goodbye goodbye you were meant to be in a raid also my elytra isn’t in the best Condition so i figured i could actually use this experience right now to to repair the elytra a little bit too that could be good not even coming into the town today stay out of here don’t even think about it evoker goodbye the banner is mine You can go away too you’re not coming to the town no all right fine iron golems i will take care of them myself don’t worry about it i’ll clean them all up myself no really no really i insist i got it don’t worry about it I’ve got it the hill the hill watch the hill iron golem there’s a ravager up there too you’re going to ruin the beautiful oak tree you’re going to ruin the tree no a sneak attack an ambush an ambush suddenly they appear all in front of me that’s not good we have secured The flag though of this wave i have your flag stand down ravager follow me right this way into the open field yup get taken out by the pillager exactly exactly open field ravager shouldn’t have come out here shouldn’t have even thought about it shouldn’t have even tried enough they’re stuck they’re literally Stuck they spawned on the hill and they don’t know how to get down for the most part most of them are just living on the hill oh you’re smart you’re smart okay we have one that is smart two maybe two i guess i’ll do it myself don’t worry about it iron golems no Really no really slowness don’t worry about it iron golems just do it myself i like it it’s fun this forest is decimated over here maybe we should just take these logs out this would maybe make things a little bit easier just in case they’re on the hill again yeah exactly they flanked me They flanked me i can’t find any of them and then i find him at the town square with his banner with his baner parading around the bell really they’ve all ran over here to this side of the town the ravager up there no no no no no no no stay away stay away From me stay away from me just keep standing right there thank you you’re floating in the air gus no no no no no no oh totem hey thank you very much i will i will come on iron golems let’s go let’s go there is a problem in the town stop walking around Boys found another massacre down here in the gallon gone forever gone on the streets over here the town is in low supply we will definitely have to restock this town before the next raid the ghost one is not even coming to the town this time i’m not taking any more chances I don’t like the vexes the vexes are like the worst thing that have happened ever and you’re not even bringing the flag to the town either it’s mine okay let’s go let’s go this is the final wave of the raid i think there’s one Iron golem left we can do this we can do this me and you there are so many there are so many evokers over here there’s so many no no no no ravage your ravager it’s just us okay okay okay it’s just you it’s just you for a second Just me and you it’s just me now goodbye goodbye you’re gone too you’re going to iron gollum you’re still doing so good stop with the ghosts though there you go you’re ready to go wait wait that was only literally half the wave where are the rest of them how do the Vexes have enchanted swords too that’s not fair oh they’re over there they’re over there on that side of the town no no no no no enough with the flame swords no another one gone another one it was you it was you i blame you and another ravager another ravager i really Don’t like to be friends with the ravagers they’re just not that cool to be honest iron man any minute here any minute here for the backup any minute here any minute any second oh yes yes yes yes oh no that’s not good that’s not good oh that’s good that’s good okay the last Few raiders definitely have to be over here on this side of the town somewhere trying to take out the villagers yep yep yep exactly what i thought enough with the potions no more potions oh i hear you come out come out wherever you are here you are here you are there’s two of You there’s two of you okay that’s a little rigged that’s just a little rigged and the axe one two no that’s not cool that’s not good no no no no no no we don’t do that way wow wow vec city over here vex city i see I see you’re trying to reclaim the town with vexes no no more enough of the ghosts enough of the ghosts we win we win the town is mine vexes you can stop now they laugh at me they laugh they laugh at the struggle i’m sorry villagers you’re gonna have to Deal with those ones on your own because the raid is over i’m out of here all right ray let’s check it out Yeah so i’m kind of torn uh logically yes 100 000 uh mansion next but at the same time i’m invisible no no no at the same time i’m kind of torn i’m almost considering doing some nether stuff very very soon actually like after uh like maybe like one two More episodes i’m not too sure can’t decide oh yes by the way i put the shield right where it belongs absolute trash it goes on the ground i’ve also been considering going back to the end here really soon too all right but that’s actually gonna do it for this episode of The minecraft guide now uh in between episodes i am going to go over to the hero of the village farm today because we made really good time getting out of that village i’m gonna use this thing for a little bit more time and try and get even more clay blocks because Clay
