Bucket Builders Andy is Yuri here and welcome back to catch our city we have done this island down here in that sort of shape already and now we’re on to this whole new island but this is going to be kind of a little separate video all about putting in a giant Cathedral

Or a big worshiping Center into this city but we always feel like we need to earn it so this little section here that I’ve roughly outlined is going to be a trading area for our city so what is this area represent it’s got a bit of a

Wall around it it’s a protected trading area I’d imagine this is where a lot of the main businesses for kajar City would be it’s delightfully divided up into about three different heights as well and kind of the highest bit at the back we imagined was going to be the Richer

Traders maybe they would be trading in diamonds and gold and emeralds and maybe jewelry as well and their buildings are going to be marked out in magenta wall as you can see and we’re going to build them up in Sandstone as well and then in the line wall would be kind of the

Medium wealth Traders and they’re going to be built up into mud bricks and then the blue represents going to be the smaller sizes of business and they’re going to be made of lots of different colors of terracotta and if you’re a fan of the original

Kajar City series you know we had a lot of terracotta builds right in the middle of that so once all the builds were laid out and roughly following the plans by the way these medieval plans were designed by gamer dad on Twitter you can follow them on Twitter or X as Treadwell

Underscore 360. and I’d love if you would draw more maps maybe we can ask him to draw more maps because he’s drawn four of fabulous DND Maps two of which we are using in this city so there we go uh all the outlines of these buildings

Are ready we’re putting in some roofs as well marking in the flooring lots of detail going in here to the the Richer traders made of sandstone mud bricks getting built up with plenty of little towers and then it’s on to what ended up being a real hard slog

Putting in the detail into the Terracotta but once the Terracotta builds had multiple levels added to them they actually started to look really good here we are putting in doors and windows and boy oh boy this is a boring task big shout out again to sarasvin and

Carter HD and Zach for so much help with all the doors windows and all the beautiful beautiful details from above that is the city so far with the progress going to zoom down on and into here let me very quickly take my render distance there and otherwise we get

Very few frames per second we have a few warehouses to do as you can see right there I’m not sure what to do with the roofs and we thought here maybe some sort of statue maybe a lighthouse would be quite good on that corner but something quite spectacular I think on

That corner but let me take you down into this new business district not got all the detail we want we need some more Street detail and Street Furniture but you can see how easily this was to throw together we just put in some terracotta blocks for the cheap

Seats and the cheap houses and businesses and then added in just a few doors and that is it Furnishing to be done at a later date and hopefully little things like this increase the atmosphere we need to maybe make some better steps here I thought they were

Pretty good and then down onto the dock area docks still to be done and bolts to be added that will add a lot of atmosphere to this build and then here are the big warehouses hmm what should we do with them maybe some big doors in

The front would be a sensible idea back towards here we’ve got um a mud brick businesses again little towers and little details on the roof really bring this whole area to life I think it’s really cool a nice big Obelisk down here really adds to this place as well absolutely beautiful

So there we go a huge scalp of City uh complete now this big yellow cross here it’s kind of signifying where the cathedral could go but I don’t think it’s really going to fit there or even look very good there and it’s kind of a bit of a shame to I

Don’t know occupy such a large part of this city with that Cathedral so I thought maybe we could take a little bit of space here and go off into a separate Island for the cathedral so let’s maybe build a little bit of that just now I think it should have a bridge across

Probably it should have a bridge across if I just make a separate Island here let’s drain this by 200 uh blocks okay I’ve measured things out a little bit more so this is roughly the size of the cathedral and I’m thinking it should go roughly about there I might move a

Little bit further out I don’t know what this building is going to be yet call that building a any ideas about building a not too sure about it but let’s get placing oh by the way we have this ocean Monument down there and I’m thinking maybe we could use a bit of ocean

Monument as part of maybe the the bridge leading up towards this so let’s just bring this over here now what I do want to do I think is have the cathedral maybe slightly further up a hill with a hill as well so let me just fill this in to start with

This is going to be a nice bit of land for our Byzantine Cathedral can’t wait to show you what we’ve done so far we’ve kind of made a start on it I’m going to show you the time lapse in just a few minutes but that’s going to be roughly the

Island let’s make it a little bit uh bigger just come out here in that world let it catch up then we’ll have a bridge across here I suppose and then maybe we could put the ocean Monument maybe there and make it form part of maybe a curving Bridge

Hmm Tricky Tricky Tricky Tricky but I want to do the sides on this just now so let me fill this in slash B20 go down to smaller sizes of sphere here just to make hopefully this look kind of decent all the way around so I’m using a Java Edition I’m on an

Um they really are incredible I think I can use the cliff brush I love the cliff brush Let’s Go slash br cliff F7 maybe maybe I can start to use a bit of a cliff brush here and just bring this out make it look a bit more Cliffy

That’s looking a bit better something like that I could have a bit of a cliff down there a bit of a cliff up here you can always tidy up the materials later on just need to make it look kind of half decent just gonna do this roughly we won’t be

Placing the Cathedral on this today maybe maybe I’ll put the Prototype on to see how see how it looks something like that it’s pretty good let’s come around here making the cliff let’s go over it one more time and slash BBB we’ll just uh blend this together go beautiful blend brush just tidy

Things up a little bit again don’t worry about the materials you can change them important thing is the shape of this island here really is fun building a Java Edition with all these tools Vauxhall sniper world edit and all sorts now I think what I want to do is make

Kind of a little kind of plinth for the cathedral so let’s go up maybe to 83 another 10 blocks high and then maybe I can do yeah this makes a little kind of a little station to put the Cathedral on to hopefully this is going to be about enough space here

A little raised area of land just like that we’ll just come over the back here like that so this is where the cathedral is going to go cool um and I guess maybe we’ll go around with the cliff brush again can I do that just set the cliff brush is this the cliff

Brush this is the cliff brush here make little Cliffs this is expanding the size of it a bit as well which is good make it look a little bit more natural and then we’ll need some sort of winding path to get up to the front door of the cathedral

But I think the cathedral hopefully will fit onto that Is that working actually this is kind of working as making a little bit of a path that could be a kind of a nice windy path up the way to the front door I quite like the way that worked out like that we go cool didn’t know you could use that

Brush to do that and it’s actually rather enjoyable so there we go a bit of a windy slope up getting carried away it’s too much fun too much fun yeah so that’d be a little windy slope up to the front of the cathedral now can we grab the ocean monument and can we

Use that somehow hmm could I put the ocean Monument do we want to bother with that hmm let me think well I think we’re going to have kind of an ocean Monument just about here slash oop I need this this tool this is the one I kind of want a bit of

An ocean Monument right here maybe it should have been sunk down a little bit but what if it was sitting kind of on there would that look good and now we could make a bridge across from there to there and from there to here and you kind of walk through the ruins

Of an ocean Monument would that work I think it probably probably would we’ll just turn this into clefts here there we go nice Cliffs and let’s go and grab the ocean monument and then maybe we’ll make it kind of ruined as well kind of a ruin the ocean Monument how

Far down does it go that’s as far as it goes it doesn’t stick out any oh it does go down a bit farther down there so let’s hmm how far down does this go down to 36 so I need to grab down at 36. it’s 35

36 and we’ll grab the whole thing got a bit of clef here to grab some sort of creature in there uh okay so I’m gonna copy this whole thing copy what I want to do is slash cut just get rid of it I’ve missed a bit but

Never mind never I never mind we’re gonna just dig this in a little bit in here so if I come down this is really flying by the sheet of my pants here slash paste minus a I forgot I’ve got a g mask on take that off

And there we go uh ruined ocean Monument so you can imagine a bridge coming across to here and then somehow I kind of want a bridge maybe from here to here and then you would walking up into the cathedral so we’re sticking out the back here a little touch so let’s add on

A bit more Cliff is that the cliff brush here we go oh no that’s annoying that’s annoying can I do this see that’s not bad isn’t it it looks a little bit ruined and destroyed and that’s the kind of effect that was actually wanting really I don’t want these guys

Sticking up so much so we’re gonna get rid of a lot of these a lot of life building in this episode it’s fun it’s fun terraforming but more behind the scenes hopefully you guys enjoy that rather than just a raw time lapse with my voice over um so I really don’t want

These guys kicking around as well these are these are annoying kelp replace near 50 kelp zero is it count plant there we go and what do we have down the bottom here oh is this grass this is seagrass replaced near 100 sea grass with nothing as well oh come on go away

Am I gonna have to use sponges or something to get rid of all this Hmm this could take a while so I tidied it up a little bit and uh off camera and I’ve just reduced the size of my melt brush we’re just gonna just bomb in some holes here

Like this and then hopefully this will make it look a bit more ruined and we’ll cover it in vegetation as well probably at a bit of a later date I might might do that just now actually put some I put some big holes nice G mask can I melt this go

Melt that open that up that’s pretty cool you can see right inside the monument there oh yeah that’s great oh yes look at that destroyed take off some of these I guess open that up fantastic I’ve done everything but the cathedral I’m sorry about that okay people switching onto this video for a

Cathedral oh it’s not building the cathedral yet that’s it I’m not watching let us naturalize some of the land here so this is a really cool command so we put a position there and we put a position there and slash naturalize should just turn that into some nice

Grass I’m going to do the same with this big island here as well and fly over natural eyes turns into a nice looking Island oh banned my selection by 50 marks and we’ll naturalize there as well some of these still looking a little bit weird here we need to maybe

Just make that look a little bit more natural in places there we go not too shabby I think what we should do is probably put um the water back in as well that’s going to make this place look great and we’ll switch shaders back on see what it

Looks like so big fat fill command slash fill water 1000 and we’ll go uh 70 deep and that should fill that in so we’re going to be making a bridge in the next episode from there to there and across it there to there and when this is all surrendered with the vegetation

As well and then plenty of maybe a big Forest around the cathedral would be really really spectacular what we want to do is quickly get rid of this and then I’m going to take you guys over to our Cathedral there we go let’s get rid of that all

Right we are good to go so have a look at this amazing website I found I’ll put the link into the description but what a beautiful Byzantine style Cathedral they have designed and they’ve got amazing pictures from all different angles exactly what you want when you’re trying

To build something and be inspired in Minecraft and more importantly they’ve got floor plans as well so I’m going to show you how I took those floor plans here’s the basement it is fantastic look at this place it’s just absolutely beautiful huge Central area with a big domed roof semi-circular domes on the

Ends as well and big altar areas it is really really really spectacular so we’re trying to build this actually ended up being quite a faithful build as well we tried to copy it pretty much exact but look at that for the side that’s just the side this isn’t even the

Front it is really really beautiful so what we did was we took this image and then we went into Photoshop shop here and what I did here was select all the walls so I get all the walls selected and then I could shade in all the walls

Like that and end up actually just painting over with black as well somehow um let me see oh what I need to do is Select everything and then inverse it and um not do that undo undo right uh and then paint and then yeah what I did is I ended up with

Some solid black lines so once you’ve got solid black lines you can uh there we go let me show you see there you go solid black lines right ready to build then you go to this website so if I minimize that you go to this one here it’s hair

Hair.net and you choose your file you put in your Cathedral I had to do three different sizes each one smaller than before but once you’ve done that it generates a schematic and you can put that schematic into Minecraft let me show you that so here we are in Minecraft I can load

That schematic and then I can just paste it down and it’s pasted it right here so this is what we started with this is the outline of the cathedral so finally we’re going on with the cathedral build we stripped away the white wall from the schematic and turned everything into

Black cool not too sure why we use Blackpool but we’ll turn it into gold a little bit later on and then it was a question of marking out where the columns are going to be making sure we knew where the center of the build would

Be and we could center a circle on top of that which is going to represent the main Dome much later on so we get about half the cathedral belt I would say in this episode and I’ll be back maybe in about a week’s time hopefully with the finish of this Cathedral uh Byzantine

Cathedral is absolutely fascinating I love the style so interesting so the red represents columns and the black is representing the walls blue wool is going to be the roof area and then of course we’re going to be changing with world that are into whatever materials we want we’ll make the black all gold

Because it’s much easier to build in gold or diamond or Emerald so you can see exactly and count how many blocks you’re using we raised the whole build up and put in a basement there is a plan for the basement so we’ll be doing that

As well so I can’t wait to have a many people have a two or three episodes in this Cathedral because this is going to be quite uh spectacular build I think a few windows for the basement being hacked in here a couple of blue staircases up as well we’ve got some

Split levels going on and little inset picture on the bottom right is the front view so we swing the camera around to see the front view turn everything into gold and uh it’s a good way of building I don’t know if you guys do that gold or Emerald or

Diamond blocks is a good way if you’re in creative mode to see and count because they’ve got little lines in between and they don’t merge into each other like wool does and then you can take your build into survival and recreate it maybe using a mod or just uh

Taking some screenshots and building from your plans so the most difficult thing about this build was all the different heights and levels of roofs so this is just the question of appearing at the pictures and the plans for quite a long time I was streaming this and I am going to be streaming

Start of this video and this wonderful Cathedral as well it’s been such an interesting start quite tricky um and we had to make a few alterations at the back of the cathedral here just to make sure that we’ve got some sort of diagonal Windows carved in but what a beautiful uh diagram and

Plans absolutely love this I would love to go and see it Byzantine Cathedral I’m quite used to seeing lots of cathedrals in England and even the United States and France I’ve been to through some cathedrals but I would love to go off to maybe I thought oh Cypress Greece turkey maybe

Even further east Azerbaijan to see some Byzantine Empire builds it must be fantastic to think how far back in history you are connected with the buildings you have around you and I love this design it’s got these clever archways columns and domes they really support quite a lot of weight

With quite primitive Building Technology and techniques but producing quite a spectacular building and the inside of this is going to be I think absolutely fantastic and I’m uh I’m not adverse to decorating the inside maybe with something quite cool with granite or quartz and maybe even making some of the

Domes on top quite colorful as well what materials do you think this should be made of what would you make of if you um if you could build it what sort of materials would you use I think Hmm diorite calcite are these the kind of builds we should make it out of these

Kind of blocks hmm maybe it should be Granite maybe brick I don’t know stone brick so many of the material choices to make but we’re building it out of wool and gold right now and then we’ll use world edit to change it into something else a little bit later on

So we’ve got the basic structure and in the next episode we’ll be going on and up and on to the roof so I think what we’ll do is we’ll place what we’ve got so far on the island we made so you get an idea of the shape and

Structure uh and I do as well to see roughly what this whole thing is going to look like so here it is in position on our new island what do you think isn’t it absolutely enormous I do like this kind of placing where the back of the cathedral is really quite close to

The cliff at the back is it high enough up should we actually raise this up so the cathedral is even higher maybe that would be quite spectacular anyway I’m going to risk my frames per second dropping right down I do want to show you in context uh where

We have placed this in the city and I am looking forward to making Bridges probably about there and if you zoom in right about there will be a couple of nice Bridges unless you’ve got better ideas but there you go if we zoom out a

Bit more you get an idea of the sheer scale of this Cathedral absolutely enormous definitely the biggest build in the city so far but I think that’s really really cool I’m sorry about the frames per second but when I have this render distance on it is just taxing my computer to the limits

So there we go really really good progress today I’ll be back in about a week with another episode and I’m really looking forward to putting some palm trees and some bushes and paths maybe a few graveyards onto that Cathedral Island as well so anything else you can

Think of which will go nicely beside a cathedral uh as well so things would go on to it there are some good there are going to be some rooms in this Cathedral especially kind of up here at this level let me take the render distance down so

We’ve got a few frames to play with there we go you’re going to be a few rooms we’re going to walk people to walk through here as well I I have made a staircase down here as well and that staircase will eventually lead to this doorway here

Which is just adorable and then down here into the basement there isn’t a great deal of space down here in the basement it’s a little bit cramped as well but we could dig down and give ourselves a bit more Headroom as well but it look almost looks like a

Basketball court there doesn’t it as well and this will be the view from the inside imagine that with a huge domed roof even higher we’ve got some work to do on columns and domes but yeah we’re gonna have some rooms up here probably through and round and then round and
