Hey guys welcome to this week’s episode of munching with moon where we’re going to take a look at Minecraft food more specifically bread cookies and cake first things first let’s add some authentic arm tattoos that I’m almost positive is some kind of spell that makes people better at cooking all right Now I’m ready to go the first thing on the list today is Minecraft bread which is made by combining three bushels of wheat I don’t actually have any raw wheat so I’m just going to assume Steve grinds it into a flow before baking now let’s be honest if we only use flour we Would end up with well flour so I’m going to assume water was just so basic that they didn’t even add it to the recipe so into a bowl we’re going to combine 300 G of flour and 225 g of water and that’s it add your dough hook To your stand mixer and to give this thing its best chance I’m going to knead it for about 10 minutes once it’s done remove the dough and make sure you flour your work surface and hands before you get the sticky dough everywhere work the dough with your Hands pulling it taut on one side and into itself on the other to create a smooth surface you can also roll your dough towards you using the surface of your counter to pull it into a tight ball there will be no Rising since there’s no yeast in the dough so we’re Just going to roll it out into a sort of triangle thing have the point facing you and then roll that up into a nice loaf shape tucking the edges at the end line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the loaf on top be sure to add Those three Signature Cuts on the top and into a 350° F oven it goes for about 1 hour this might seem excessive but with how dense this dough is it’s going to need all the time it can get 1 hour later and as you can see the bottom got Brown and hard and the top was almost as pale as when it went in this dough has no salt no sugar no yeast so this is a dense boy let’s try to cut into it to get a look at the crosssection there just as I thought this bread is uh unedible I Still gave it a try of course just to be sure and decided it needed to be thrown away immediately now we’re going to try to make this thing at least edible while still using Minecraft ingredients but this time we’re going to make our own yeast which will help the dough rise to Do this we’ll still just need flour and water you’re going to add equal parts of each into a jar make sure the water is room temperature so that the yeast has a better chance of growing give it a stir and then let it sit for about a week yes You heard me right a week now I started mine about three days ago it’s not as mature as I want it but Steve has went 3 days now without food I think we’ll have to risk it this time we’re going to add 300 G of bread flour to a bowl along With 225 g of water and 48 G of our Yeast Starter attach your dough hook to your stand mixer and just like before bring all the ingredients together and let knead for about 15 minutes when it’s done flour your work service and start shaping your dough into a tot ball as Before this stuff is really sticky so use as much flour as you need during this process place your smooth ball into a greased Bowl cover and let rise for about an hour and a half while you wait you can chug that coffee you forgot about just before you started filming And what the heck add some more tattoos maybe it will make the bread taste better after your dough has about doubled in size and all your daylight is gone remove the bowl and roll out into a triangle shape like before I didn’t actually get this on film because my Camera ran out of memory and stopped recording but after I rolled it into a loaf I placed it into this loaf B thingy and let it proof for another hour after it doubled in size again I flipped it into a parchment lined baking sheet and gave it a score into a 355° oven it goes for about 45 minutes 45 minutes later and you still have a pretty bad looking loaf this one got some more color probably because of the sugar the yeast makes while proofing but it’s still very dense let’s slice into it and get a good look at that Crosssection still not completely baked but we’re going to give it a try and yeah it’s it’s okay I could eat it if I was starving maybe all right so Bread’s not looking too good as a first option for food so what about cookies the game calls for Two wheat and one Cocoa Bean or pile of beans not really sure what that is there so this time we’re going to bring back the big jar of flour and some cocoa powder following the recipe ratios into a bowl add 200 g of flour and 100 G of Cocoa powder give that a whisking and then add about 200 g of water you’ll end up with a thick chocolate dough that honestly looks more like Play-Doh it probably shouldn’t look like that oh well line a pan with parchment paper and roll the Play-Doh I mean the cookie Dough into balls then squish into cookie shape believe me these things will not be spreading in the oven into a 375° fhe oven they go for about 25 minutes or until they look no different at all these look so yummy let’s break one apart and see that Crosssection they do seem to be more solid than before they went into the oven but very chalky now let’s give it a try and yep those are worse than the bread that was that was horrible off to the lava hole you go okay now to the big boy Minecraft Cake if you played the game you know that to craft a cake you need three bushel of wheat one egg three buckets of milk and two piles of sugar and into a bowl goes 300 G of flour 200 g of sugar one egg and 300 G of milk and I am Surprised to say this batter does kind of look like cake batter I did not expect that let’s see how it Cooks grease a square pan to get that Minecraft square look pour all your batter in and into a 350° Fahrenheit oven it goes for 35 Minutes as you can see this cake did not rise as at all because we have no leenders let’s get a crosssection real quick and I think it looks better than the bread definitely looks more cooked now we give it a try and this is edible So that’s that’s a win it’s not good but I could eat it to survive now on to the second cake this time I thought I would do something like an angel food cake this cake mostly has no leavers and mainly uses whipped egg whites to give it some air and height Starting off I’m going to be using flour sugar sugar and 12 eggs the milk will definitely come in later into a bowl goes 133 G of flour 330 g of sugar mix that together into a blender to make sure your sugar is very fine I didn’t show that on camera cuz I Don’t know I’m dumb Now set that aside while we work on our eggs grab a bowl to your stand mixer and a small bowl to deposit your leftover egg parts and start separating the whites from the yolks you’re going to end up with 12 egg whites in your Bowl now attach your whisk attachment to your stand mixer and let this go for about 5 to 10 minutes as the British baking Show puts it until you have stiff white Peaks when it’s done we’re going to remove it from the stand mixer and slowly three parts at a time sift in our Flour sugar mixture fold this in gently you don’t want to whip out all the air you’ve just created now divide your batter into two square pans and they are going to go into to a 350° F oven for 40 minutes or until they’re golden brown while those bake we’re going to make our Icing this is where our milk comes into play into a bowl we’re going to combine 2 cups of sugar and 4 tspoons of milk yes do as I say not as I do the first time I didn’t make enough and had to make more whisk that together and you Should have a consistency like this you want it to be able to run down the edges of the cake after your cakes have completely cooled pop them out of their pan and place on your plate of choice in all honesty I should have just poured the whole mixture in one pan then I Would have had a smooth seam but I was worried it would make the batter collapse pour the icing you just made over your cake making sure to get those drippy edges and now I’m going to forge through the spruce forest and find some snow berries and place those on top for Decoration now let’s slice into this thing it’s definitely more Airy and cake-like than the one before it has a decent texture but it tastes tastes like well a lot of eggs but hey if this is what Steve is eating it’s got protein from the eggs fiber from the wheat and a Good sugary kick from the berries it’s definitely going to be saturating and it’s the best tasting thing I’ve made this whole time mainly the berries with the icing well there you go Minecraft’s original foods made from Minecraft ingredients I think what we’ve learned here today is that if Steve is following These recipes he is most likely dead
