Let’s Play Minecraft Hardcore | Castle Nether Portal Design! Episode 8

Hello everyone and welcome to minecraft hardcore today we’re starting at the zombie grinder i have 33 levels which i’m so impressed with i really really love it here it’s so great and look at all of this rotten flesh let’s go and make some emeralds and use these levels to our advantage look at

Not gonna do the gold one to be honest with you i think you’re just useful for your rotten flesh very cool though thank you for your time um goodbye honestly overall i’m very happy with all of the trading that we’ve been able to do around here it’s been so fun having

All of these villagers no discounts today though huh unfortunate okay here’s the thing we’re getting quite rich right i mean we have full diamond armor from trading with the villagers which is great it does have some enchantments not the best enchantments in the world we can do

Better but i think that we should put our diamonds to use today and use some of these levels to actually get some tools um let me grab some books as well and let’s head over to our enchanting library and see what we can get ah it’s good to be back in here okay

Let’s see the axe will give me unbreaking which is pretty good and the sword would give me sweeping edge which to be fair i do actually want sweeping edge for down and our little area down there but i think that i don’t want to focus it quite yet

Riptide is cool um but i think we can do better also created another diamond pickaxe and that does have on breaking you know what i think i’m gonna go with the unbreaking pickaxe please be something good please be something good every time every time it’s unbreaking

For me it just ends up being plain old and breaking that’s okay i’ll keep it and combine it bane of arthropods i’m okay on the spiders to be honest and unbreaking three oh gosh such a hard decision okay i’m gonna take the risk again and go with the unbreaking three on an axe

Please be more lucky oh my gosh okay i’m never doing a breaking three again no i’m kidding i will but gosh i’m so unlucky it’s all good though because i literally have infinite xp so all i’m gonna do is head back over to our spawner and get up to level 30 once again

This is always very satisfying i really need a sweeping edge sword down here i think that would bring us to the next level but we’re doing pretty good you know since we’re spending so much time down here i feel like it’s important that i get this properly done up and i

Really want the floor to be glass and to take out the lights so maybe we can try to do that right now let’s go and collect some sand for smelting so thankful we have this desert over here it makes things so easy bee what are you doing are you lost

There’s no hive over here oh the bee’s just going on a little vacation i guess i think about a stack of sand should do the trick i don’t want to ruin this desert taking all of the sand from it so i’m going to try to be conservative

I would also really love to turn this into a custom tree but before we can do that i need to actually work on this area as a whole and get it all fixed up first of all we need a way up and down this hill and i think a staircase right

Thinking maybe a big willow tree would be really nice but i don’t know if i’m mentally prepared to build a willow tree today we’ll think about it i definitely need to label a couple more chests so let’s build some item frames this one is redstone and this one will be fishing stuff since

I’m spending some time fishing oh maybe not the bow i have some cobbles melting up in here and it’s time to get to work i think i have an idea of what i want and in general in minecraft i really like to work with the turin and we’ve been given

This sort of dip down right here and i want to fill it in like i want this you can see i’ve kind of already started i want this to be filled in with blocks so that we’re up one layer but for this wall and this wall i think i just want

To kind of work with it so what do you say we try to do that with a couple of pillars because something that i’ve noticed is these lovely brilliant super intelligent villagers keep just walking off ledges and dying and well they don’t die but i’m sure that they’re starting to lose some

Health and i’d really like to keep them alive so we’re gonna build just like a retaining wall along here to hopefully stop them from doing that too much water my bad oh are you guys gathering oh how lovely look at them it’s gonna be so

Cool to see them gather in the spot that i have built them okay definitely need a pillar right here against these stairs and then maybe every three excuse me can you guys move thank you thank you yeah right there ah perfect we go one higher you know surprisingly their noises don’t

I have all of the trading stuff that i need right now okay first things first we’re definitely going to need to keep a bell but we may destroy this one and keep that one just so they can work and we’ll put them up one at a time um

I do want the bells maybe we’ll just put it on the ground here yeah there you guys go i don’t want to upset them and i don’t really remember the specifics of how they work around bells so my idea for the center here is to have kind of like arrows sort of

Pointing out this way i don’t know if it’ll work out perfectly to be arrows but just like almost like a compass like pointing in each of the four directions from the center here i think that would be really really pretty so yeah just like that all right and now

That we have the points all i got to do is surround it with some stone brick just to make it a little bit more pretty and now we just work on kind of extending these pathways out this way this is gonna look so much better i can’t wait to have roads going along

Here oh my goodness look how nice this is obviously we will texture it with some gravel and other things i’m not sure exactly what we’ll texture it with and we’ll probably have some coarse dirt around as well we can do mossy cobble for sure in it in

Little spots like let’s do a little bit of that yes that would look lovely some andesite and some gravel i think would be the other answer i just don’t want to put andesite too close to this because i want this to stand out but in all fairness maybe we can do this polished

Andesite instead i’m not sure i’ll let you guys tell me what you think we’re also eventually going to have to do something with this side but for now i’m just going to kind of build it up so that it’s pretty obvious that you need to take the staircase over here and this

Can be maybe more retaining wall or i don’t know maybe something different we’ll have to see what happens to all these buildings that we’re going to transform first this is not how i officially want this to be but i think for right now it is going to be

Important that i fix this staircase up for this lovely lovely blacksmith there we go that’s a bit nicer and then all of the in-between bits are just becoming dirt for right now this looks way better already oh my gosh look how clean it is we don’t even have anything done with it

Really we just kind of cleaned it up okay let’s get some blocks now for that retaining wall and see if we can fix that up so i’m thinking that we do acacia wood if i have any oh i have lots okay let’s definitely do acacia wood

Then i’m gonna turn it into acacia wood and not log just so that we don’t get the orange sticking out and yeah let’s see how that works so i’m thinking instead of having a dirt wall here instead we just do the acacia wood oh whoops there we go

I’m so scared i’m gonna hit one of these iron golems they keep hanging around so closely to me oh my goodness i’m still scarred from last episode we definitely also are gonna need a retaining wall over on this side just to make it really clear when we’re over by the library

Here that we have to walk around to the pathway i think it’ll just make sense to keep everything in one direction then i think honestly on top of that we’ll probably go for just some walls and see how that looks some actual wall locks i really like the way that these

Function in the newer updates so maybe it’ll be cool to use them kind of just along here this should stop the villagers from doing anything silly and actually jumping over as well ah who is falling still oh my gosh they’re jumping over this ah villagers are exhausting okay just for

Right now temporarily i’m gonna put a fence dude what do i gotta do to stop that does that help do you think they’ll still do that my gosh no pathfinding skills whatsoever okay so again the fence is temporary but to be honest i don’t hate the fence

It’s kind of cool actually it kind of works what if we actually do those spikes on top of each of these i don’t hate it it’s kind of cool all right awesome this is a way cleaner in terms of getting the villagers all organized and

Getting this wall oh my gosh i love it i also have four chiseled stone bricks left so i’m thinking we use those somehow in the design so now it’s time to add maybe some greenery to the area i think i have some leaves in here somewhere i think surely

While we’re on the topic i’d also really like to get a bell in place and i think just doing something like this oh with maybe a spruce slab as well let me go get one i just want to hang both of the bells in one area instead of

Having them how they were before um i do have a slab so it’s perfect let’s see just how this would look i’m not entirely sure if the villagers need to be able to reach the bell i’ve never really tested that out to be honest but hopefully they don’t mind me putting it

Up high yeah that’s kind of cute and then we’re just going to take each of the bells and plop it right there that’s way nicer and it’s kind of tucked out of the way i really like it we can also go ahead with some spruce buttons just for decoration around the block yes

Very cute adorable i like it i really want to decorate with some leaves so i’m just going to come out here and grab a couple of these oak leaves that’s probably enough if we’re not doing the custom tree today that should be good and let’s go decorate with these so eventually i’m

Thinking that we hide some lighting in them but just for right now we could just do some of these really cute little bushes just standing in each of the corners and eventually we’ll be able to put some trapdoors and put like a shroom light or something in there just to keep things

I really need to make our netherspawn safe if we’re gonna have to go to the nether like that’s how you progress in this game so i have to get over myself and i have to go in however my nether portal is in kind of an awful location

Right now it’s kind of over here in the beach and it was just naturally spawned here but i think what we do is we pick up the obsidian and we move it into a proper location in our base rather than just having it down in this little hole

Also we use this stone brick so that’s what i’m gonna do i’m gonna break the portal move it to a better location and then we’re gonna get started on a proper safety nether hub i think that’s important thank goodness we got efficiency today as well because this obsidian would take forever

To mine without it bro why are they like this what they’re actually just taking turns dying okay as much as i love watching this party y’all have got to get a grip stop it stop it i’ve had enough you’re insane well actually why though like there’s a staircase right here it’s

Right yes like that i don’t understand villager pathfinding i’m actually lost like that has been the final like what what what oh my goodness i’m gonna have to get i’m gonna have to go to the nether just to get splash potions of healing to keep these villagers alive

That’s rough all right so here’s the thing i don’t want to put the nether portal in the village i think that the villagers are just not there yet they don’t quite have the technology the brain power to not go into the nether and just die so we’re gonna use this mining area down

Here and kind of expand on this and this wall right here i’ve been eyeing it up looks like the perfect spot for another portal what do you think it’s just it’s perfect and we’re gonna have a three wide nether portal and we’re just gonna tuck it in

To this area right here i think it’ll be epic so let’s lay down the bottom and we’ll go four high and then across the top a nice big epic nether portal ah of course i placed one wrong oh my gosh come on so there we go very cute right now all we

Have to do is design it and for the design i was inspired by a youtuber called gold robin and i’m going to link their channel down below they are amazing if you’re ever out of ideas for builds to do in your minecraft world their channel is awesome they have the

Best little channel ever please go support them i’m gonna be kind of inspired by their design i don’t plan on copying it but i’ll link the tutorial for it down below if you are interested so the first thing that i’m going to do for this design is just kind of surround

My nether portal in a lovely layer of black stone i don’t want to be able to see the obsidian and i think the black stone looks amazing in these scenarios so that’s what we’re gonna use and then we’re gonna plan out some little medieval towers on each side just like this

We do need a little bit of wood for this and sadly i don’t have any freshly chopped down so time to come into the dark oak forest once again okay now the middle of these towers is going to be wooden i just really like the pop of color that this kind of gives

Amongst all of the gray and black i think it’s going to work really really well then all we got to do is build up the stone brick to match all right now that’s in i’m just gonna go in with some of these lovely layers and slabs and hopefully get this design

To work out this is a really really quick design but it matches with the theme of the area which is what i definitely like about it look at this okay now all we have to do is add sort of the castle granulations up at the top

Let me do that now so we’re just gonna pop out a layer of depth just like so on each of these pillars and we connect everything together and add some castle granulations and up at the top here i’m just gonna fill it in with some cobble

All right i really love this i’m gonna just add a couple of these black stone buttons up as a little detail up here perfect perfect yes i like it okay and now we just kind of need to decorate this inward area right here probably shouldn’t have filled it up

With the block that i’m going to be using but you know what it is what it is and i’m just going to go along the back here maybe we could actually use magma or something back here actually hmm yeah maybe i’ll leave that alone for

Right now but i do just want to tuck in and add some black stone just like so to give it a little bit more of a rounder feeling and same thing right along here and in the ground and i kind of want to kind of have it

Trickling out from the ground just like we did before um over at our lava like see how it kind of comes out like that i’d kind of like to do the same thing i think that’s a really cool effect okay now comes the fun part and slightly dangerous part i

Need to go inside this nether portal and kind of see where i spawn i think i should spawn in the same location but if i don’t need to figure that out and properly assess the situation and get safe i should go get some gold first though okay but speaking of gold

What if i set up an armor stand that could be kind of cool right oh let me smelt some stuff so that i can make an armor stand i think that i have a bunch of armor that i’m collecting from my zombie grinder let me go check and see if any

Of it is golden i know that we can smelt the armor that we get from down here for the most part but it would also be kinda cool to have it displayed let’s see let’s see what do we got what do we got oh okay we do have some gold

We could totally use this i think i can now craft an armor stand oh yes i can perfect and i can also put my golden helmet back on all right so let’s have these armor stands maybe just like right here ish oh this one needs to move oh i did not

Realize that’s how that worked how do i take you down um okay um just like this yeah and then you each get some golden armor it’s beautiful okay so when we get a full set of golden armor they’re gonna look like guards it’s gonna be perfect i

Also should really make some gates i forgot that i hadn’t done that yet oh we need a few more sticks um the reason that i’m making gates and i do need more gates than that is because the villagers although i have not yet seen them wander down here it’s entirely possible that

They may wander down here so that’s just going to keep them from being able to get in and then also up here i just want to see how it would look with a little magma highlight because i think that would be super cute yep we’ll definitely do that back wall of magma

Iron golem what are you doing okay this is awesome now all i have to do is go in on the inside and try and make it as safe as possible ah please let there be nothing spawned in here please okay i’m safe now all i’m gonna do is dig out a little

Bit of the floor and we’re gonna slab it over and the reason that i’m doing this is because things cannot spawn on slabs so if we slap this over the magma that we had to deal with in the last episode will not be able to come back to haunt us

We already have this super safe spawn i mean deltas typically are not that safe but because that we’ve spawned in this little room in here it’s actually surprisingly nice oh gosh ah there’s pits of death everywhere i hate it oh my goodness okay honestly this is probably big enough for right now i’m

Just gonna wall this all in okay here is my little room we can expand this but for right now this is perfectly safe well lit up and we can eventually kind of put a little door right here and this will be how we leave so let’s actually pull up

A crafting table right here and let’s make an iron door or three right so this is going to be how we get in and out of this area super safe hopefully blast proof hopefully and we’ll just put a little button oh we definitely should put a button on the

Outside as well i would not want to get trapped there we go and we’ll put a couple of slabs out here as well this is perfect it’s like my little safe house okay i feel way better about the nether now let’s go home all right i love it i think this is good

A book says protection three which is pretty cool maybe let’s do this just protection three all right feather falling four i already have feather falling for but for some reason that’s still tempting silk touch oh i do need silk touch that would be so cool okay let’s go get some

More levels and see if we can get that silk touch enchant on something diamond i’m not sure if it’ll always transfer i checked on an iron tool it won’t always transfer to diamond i’m pretty sure there’s a different like probability for enchants on different tools but hopefully we will get it that’d be

So cool we’re building out of a lot of stone brick so having silk touch on a pickaxe would be a pretty big deal it’d also be cool to have it on a shovel so that we could go pick up some mycelium because mycelium is not spawnable by

Hostile mop so we could use some to our advantage in the village perfect level 30. let’s head back up now oh is it nighttime oh my bad i really need to install a clock down there i keep meaning to don’t mind me just sleeping next to my

Sheep okay now the question is do we spend more diamonds making a third diamond pickaxe or do i unenchant the plain old fortune one i feel like if i unenchant the plain old fortune one you guys might get mad at me but also we can we can get fortune right now um

Maybe this will make you guys feel better i’ll get fortune from my librarian and i’ll get silk touch hopefully from the enchant the is that okay i don’t know we all have different ideas about how i should use my resources in this world and i think this is a fair

And um i’m gonna do a chest here and that’ll go into that this will be on top there we go so now hopefully as i do more and more trading i’ll be able to come in here put all of these iron tools that i don’t need in they’re gonna smelt
