The story and progression of minecraft is a surprisingly complex one and the game is designed in such a way that no two playthroughs will ever be the same from the wealth of over 18 quintillion unique seeds for each world to the nearly 100 different mobs that spawn randomly across multiple dimensions To even just the way you choose to spend your time there are essentially infinite ways to play the game which is at least partially why it’s become such a large phenomenon over the past years but to properly complete the game there is one thing that never changes one particular action That every player must follow through with no matter how long it may take or what they do to achieve it to complete minecraft you have to travel to the end dimension and defeat the ender dragon almost every minecraft player knows this but what has evaded public knowledge is Just how the end came to be and how it has evolved and developed since its ideation all the way back in the middle of 2009 in today’s episode of minecraft uncovered we explore the evolution of the minecraft end the idea for the end dimension is some of the earliest information we ever got About the game less than a month after the game’s inception notch was already theorizing ideas about a fitting end to a playthrough among various other ideas like having a goal of making the most money in a certain time frame like many economy servers he also considered the idea of a classic boss battle Potentially in the style of a speed run where the fastest player to beat this beast would become the winner naturally we can know all of nach’s plans for the end of the game but we can see that even back then some of the basic ideas behind the end Dimension were being put into place and by 2010 we got our first playable rendition of what would soon become the n dimension similar to the nether the n’s origins came from an old indev 0.31 map setting this time being a map type instead of a map theme It was simply known as the floating type and it generated floating islands with similar terrain to your selected map theme if you fell from atop these islands you would plummet to your death on the bedrock floor of the map and have to start all over once again this map type was removed a Few months later in an unknown inf-dev version but it gave players their first peek into what the end dimension would eventually look like even if they didn’t know its intended purpose just yet it would be nearly one and a half years until floating islands resurfaced this time returning to the game in the Form of a tweet showcasing the third playable realm in the game known as the sky dimension just like with another it was essentially an updated version of its in-dev predecessor and it could even be likened to the aether dimension that many players have been wanting for nearly a Decade now and that’s become such a mainstay of minecraft modding over the following months notch dropped a few hints about the features of the end on his twitter referencing enderman and even leaking the name of the ender dragon through a message encoded in the rot 13 cipher after further discussion on reddit he Began posting images of the new updated end dimension first showcasing the enderman obsidian towers and enderdragon in a screenshot uploaded on october 7th of 2011. three days later he posted the first known video clip of the end dimension to his now private youtube channel though the clips have since Been archived by october 12th the sky dimension had officially been rebranded to the end and it was ready for release with the official announcement of minecraft going into version 1.0 with the beta 1.9 pre-release confusing i know the end had finally been sent out to the public But it looked a bit different than it does today especially to those that have been exploring it in the newer versions of the game for starters the sky of the end was originally made of nearly pitch black noise instead of the purple static we’re used to the boss battle music by c418 didn’t Exist at this point either so you were left with just the basic overworld music fading in and out as you took down the beast flying above your head and none of the more recent structures were in the game yet and don’t worry we’ll be covering those later But otherwise the end was more or less the same as it is today you travel to a stronghold fill the portal frames with eyes of ender enter the end dimension destroy the end crystals and slay the ender dragon all the while avoiding the gaze of the hundreds of endermen roaming around the island When it’s all over gather up the tens of thousands of xp particles off the floor hop into the end portal watch the ending of minecraft and enjoy the rest of the game with this update the game finally had a sense of closure for those that needed It the players who can’t set down a game until they beat it and with the many other additions in this version of the game minecraft’s lore had all come together the story of minecraft was now complete or at least it would have been if they didn’t keep updating the game but as we All know that didn’t happen for better or for worse 1.9 in particular had quite a few updates for the dimension including fireball shot out by the dragon and new attack patterns but the largest change by far was the infinite islands generated a thousand blocks from the central of the end Containing both cities and ships filled with unimaginable treasure the cities consisted of towers made of end stone brick and perper blocks with end rods as the only source of light to guide you past the hundreds of shulkers guarding the structure the towers themselves often contained various different rooms Not just the base and empty smaller rooms but also large open spaces with spiraling staircase parkour and small lookouts with banners hanging on the outside protected by a shulker and best of all loot rooms containing two chests filled with resources enchanted armor and weapons saddles and even bee root seeds which couldn’t be Found anywhere else in the game at that point which makes me very happy having originally been a pocket edition player back when beetroots only even existed in the very early versions of mcpe alpha but let’s not forget about the end ships holding even more treasure than the entire city combined While they did have the same building blocks and defense as the end cities the ships look much different and contained much more the main deck allows you to climb the ladder and reach the crow’s nest allowing for a lookout over the entire city at the bow of the ship sits a Single dragon head the only location that dragon heads can naturally be found in the game at the other end of the main deck are two staircases the first leading to the upper deck and the second leading down into the cabins upon entering you’re faced with a stern Castle of the ship with a single brewing stand holding two instant health 2 potions free for the taking following the next staircase takes you down into the treasure room lined with obsidian with a shulker guarding two chests full of loot in an item frame holding the elusive elytra And everyone says it’s elytra but i’m still gonna say elitra the treasures of these cities and ships can often not be found anywhere else and the thousand-block journey to them is most definitely worth it assuming you can survive the way there through the past decade the end has time and time again Impressed players with its incredible atmosphere for such a simple game along with the hours of entertainment it presents and many treasures that can be found scattered across the world we can’t know what’s in store for the future but whatever comes next may very well change minecraft the largest game of all time As we know it hope you all enjoyed the video apologies that it’s a bit on the shorter side there really wasn’t that much history behind the end compared to the nether especially because there isn’t really any unique parts of it on other versions of the game like with Another at least that i could find but what that does tell me is that there very well could be a new end update soon which i think would be great to be honest my personal wish list for new versions of minecraft is basically just revamping the end Adding a new dimension and adding more mobs the last of which they’re already hard at work on but i don’t really have much else to say other than to come check out my twitch if you haven’t already the name is mcbyt live we play minecraft and a ton of Other games over there and i’ve got enough games to last me years so it should never get too repetitive but uh yeah again hope you enjoyed have a good one peace You Video Information
