Adding a Giant Airship to Minecraft to Trap an Entire Server

This is the Freebird a massive fully functional and a bitable Airship that I added to Minecraft just so it could lead a giant server-wide Expedition and trap everyone in the process now why am I organizing this Expedition what are we searching for why am I rigging it

Well let me give you a little bit of context recently this SMP has done nothing but disrespect me someone flooded my base with beans someone built a fast food restaurant in it people tried to kill me on site people invite me in damp wet Arenas just to criticize

My morals everything you face you try to kill people organize a plot to take me down the list goes on but none of this is actually what pushed me off the edge see it’s gonna sound a little weird but after killing a player permanently someone decided to start behaving like a

Ghost following me constantly and taunting me in my peripheral vision and I can’t take any of this anymore so I’m taking the whole server down however in order to pull that off I need to regroup all the players in the same place at the same time but after a bit of thinking I

Found the solution you see the server is soon gonna update to 1.19 and everyone is excited to discover the new ancient cities which on This Server are also filled with new unique content no one has seen before so if I were to take the lead on that and organize a giant troop

There everyone would want to join I could easily take everyone down including the ghost and get some sweet the process talk about killing flock of birds with one Airship but an Airship well we need a mobile base of operations that gives us a good view of the

Surroundings and can also be doomed on command and luckily an Annex all of those boxes box this step would be to make the interior of the Airship but how am I going to do that when you can’t enter entities let alone place blocks in them

Well of course we can’t do that but we can give off the illusion see by using a custom Dimension that you get teleported to when you interact with the Airship we can simulate it to be its interior so I created a new custom Dimension made a temporary interior and made an entity

That teleports are inside it with my success making the concept we could proceed with the ID but before working on the Airship entity I first needed to know the size of the Interior so that the model of the entity matches the size inside so the next day I hopped on the

Server with arithane and Lux entrance to start building the interior of the Airship and after hours of trying different things decorating the interior in different ways I had a genius idea see if I were to leave the interior as an empty carcass the Expedition members would be able to help build and

Customize the Airship before it actually starts saving me time and effort as well as making this whole Airship feel more personal to the whole server which now that I think about it will also Crush their soul even more when I get around to blowing it up

Good next on the list was coding the model of the entity which already showed two problems first the hitbox wouldn’t be accurate because Minecraft can only have horizontally square hitboxes and second given its massive size it was already lagging the game too much however Minecraft has such a thing as

Multi-pots where an entity can have multiple hitboxes but the game really only uses it for one thing the Ender Dragon and given the size of our Airship I think we’re Justified therefore I split the entity into multiple sections and added a special hitbox on the cockpit to enter the Airship when

Clicked Owen of course also made dealership block rain Yes priorities now we can enter the Airship but we still have our terrible Interiors so the next step was to make the better one generate when entering the first time but very quickly I encountered some unwanted guests when doing so

Oh wait I made it some mobs can’t spawn in that Dimension what the hell yeah anyway it’s on top of a custom Dimension I generated another data pack so that Dimension uses a biome that doesn’t allow mop spawning I threw a bit of refining I put actual doors on the

Airship you can use to enter it and made the interior use new custom blocks like hole blocks support beams and most importantly hydrogen ballasts well I mean theoretically they’re actually empty but just pretend now since you never followed your basic chemistry lesson I hear you ask rats why hydrogen

Well see hydrogen is lighter than air and would therefore in theory make such an Airship float but it’s also extremely explosive and flammable I think you can see what I’m getting at I also figured I’d add some theme to building and decoration blocks to build the inside with like plating grated walkways metal

Crates custom doors lanterns and a red meat plushie wait well that’s right I have a blushy and you’re going to buy it why well I have five good reasons for you number one it’s super high quality super detailed and I annoyed makeshift and Astron my artist these past six months

My favorite part of all this is that you can feel these effects from inside the airship oh terrifying and with everything out of the way we can now proceed to the fun part of the mod crashing the Airship see I previously coded remote detonators that can trigger explosives distantly by

Under eyes I put one inch shade route in ballast of the Airship therefore by simply using an eye aiming at the Airship I can trigger the explosion and crash the Airship on command but first I have to code the explosion effect in case you didn’t notice until now this

Entire mod is very inspired by one particular Airship the print win from Fallout 4 and given that airship’s explosion in the game looks amazing I figured I’d go beyond the overage Minecraft explosion effect alright so for this one I’m using an extremely complex library that allows me to do

And no coordinates so in order to fix these issues I added two new items first I added a cardinal Compass which as you guessed always points to the north allowing the expeditionist to stay on track of the direction we’ll be following and second no coordinates means we won’t be able to communicate

Our positions to each other so it called flares and they can be seen from a far and glow in the dark to indicate where you are I also went and ended a special sound blast variant crafted with Echo shots but that one will be useful once
