I’ve spent more than 100 hours building this underwater kingdom and we’re just getting started we’re finally back working on my biggest project to date the underwater kingdom last time we created our ocean environment added in copious amounts of colourful coral and plant life and we built the kingdom’s castle and as You can see there’s still plenty of space in this world to build so make sure you comment literally any and all of your ideas as to what i should include next now before we actually get into the video usually with these builds i ask for a Light goal for the next part or the world download however we’re doing things a little bit differently this time for every 1 000 likes this video gets i’ll donate 10 to the ocean conservancy charity which does amazing work for protecting marine life now i’ve already made a personal donation But this is your guy’s chance of contributing by supporting me and donating to help keep our oceans clean so for example if you get this video to a hundred thousand likes in one week i’ll donate 1 000 on behalf of all of us so like the video and make me spend Money it’s for a good cause oh and actually while you’re down there why not consider subscribing especially if you want to see more stuff like this okay let’s get building shall we i start by carving out a large chunk of land and build out a gradual sloping pathway This stretches from the castle in the middle of the map all the way to one of those ocean edges off in the distance now i fork off from the main slope with two other routes going for a very organic feel to mimic what it might be like in a real ocean environment Again to make them appear more natural i blend the sides of the slope down into the seabed and finish off by creating a gradient sphere of different materials to paint the rocky edges to decorate the giant pathway i use the giant custom seaweed and scatter them randomly on either side In the previous episode i made this shrine in the middle of the castle for a conduit with pillars surrounding it so i thought i’d quickly top this off with this ring to connect them all i noticed the castle itself was sitting on a completely flat plane of sand So i edited the terrain slightly to provide a bit of variation i then defined the pathway further by using a colour palette of different sand and birch wood variants with all of the work i put into creating the castle in the previous episode i forgot to include an entrance and interior So i decided to finish things off here before moving on to the rest of the build i repurpose one of the massive existing seashell rooftops from the castle and adapt it to create the rooftop to the main entrance i then build out this sloping pathway and sandwich it between these large quartz pillars This protruding building that houses the main entrance has greek and roman influences specifically from a temple or pantheon i use more of these influences throughout the build and the backstory later on so of course keep an eye out for that the new warped materials are a great addition to any ocean themed build So i use them to define the main entrance and create archways inside the hallway for the interior of the castle there wasn’t that much space to work with but i decided to line the inside of the castle with white concrete walls i then continue the same warped wood Door archways on every side except the back and connect the different entrances with a hallway that loops all the way around now from this top down view you can really see what i’m talking about a little bit more clearly i then dig out the floor and line the Walls below with sea lanterns to help light the place up i use cyan glass for the interior circle wall and change the floor below to sand then in the center i build up a platform for poseidon’s throne now without spoiling a deep storyline that i’ve got planned for future videos on this kingdom You can see that i’m creating a throne which is intended for poseidon in this world the mer people believe in a prophecy that poseidon will return one day to rule but for now they choose their ruler by other means which you’ll find out more about in future videos Using the space i created earlier i add in an aquarium into the entire floor around the throne because of course mer people need pets too and while they await their ruler the mer people honor their true king poseidon with a trident mural behind the grand throne Using light blue wool i plan a route branching off of the main pathway towards what will be the main district of the city not only is this satisfying to watch it’s a great way to begin planning a village or city i’ve also made my life easier by marking out the placement of four Main buildings with red wool and of course continuing the path around these buildings leading to further sections of the city starting with the first of the main four buildings the city hall this building resides directly in the center of the city with the base foundations of the building made up of quartz pillars Connected together by archways atop the archways i place a semi-sphere for the roof flattening off the top of it lowering the whole building slightly and including an inner wall behind the pillars i then begin working on the second layer of the building following in the exact same format that i used below For this roof section i wanted to line the edge of it with spiral shells these were the same spiral shells i used for the small castle towers i just changed the materials to match the color palette of this building speaking of color i plan to use this same palette of turquoise and white Throughout the city to complement the main castle for this city i’ve taken inspiration from greek and roman architecture the city of atlantis and tried to implement my own organic twist by using seashells in my design i finish off the roof by blending in different warped woods for a wavy watery effect Inside the city hall i went for a checkered board marble floor and added white concrete to cover up the roof materials for a more appealing interior look then to help provide with some support and also help with decorating i build up a quartz pillar lined with warped materials and a light source in The corner of the room hanging down from the center of the ceiling i build a fancy chandelier and duplicate the completed pillar to each corner on the back wall i build up a raised platform for the city councillors to sit during important meetings this is made up predominantly of warped materials and Features a large clock on the wall behind them i then create rows of pews to fill the open floor space dedicated to the residence where they can sit and contribute to the meetings the second level of the city hall has been dedicated to this massive top-down map showing just how large this Ocean is now we’ll update and revisit this throughout the project to see our progress to quickly decorate the top floor i surround the map with warped wood turning it into a table and add some hanging lanterns and include shrubbery for a final touch moving on to the second of the four main Buildings the city needs some form of entertainment so i thought i’d build an amphitheater these structures derived from ancient greek and roman times and were used for an assortment of events such as gladiator combats the circus and the theatre they consist of multi-tiered seating in a semi-circle And in this case a feature stage in the center as you can see after i build the main stage i build the back of the theater using an assortment of sandstone connecting it up to the sand either side as if the structure had been sculpted from the landscape surrounding it I’ve never built anything like this before so i was pretty surprised with how well it turned out for the third feature building a lot of you requested this in the comments of the previous part a grand library now when i think of a grand library typically lots of these style buildings Come to mind well i wanted to go for a similar shape for my grand library while still maintaining the same kind of style i plan to do for the remainder of the city so once i created this very uniform pillared type of main entrance i build up a large cylinder for the main Body of the building again adding plenty of pillars turning it into almost a coliseum i make a semi-sphere dome roof to sit atop it i outline the roof into segments and flatten the top once again creating this small protruding second level with another much smaller domed roof i toyed with the Concept of using a glass roof but ultimately opt for the same wavy roof effect i used for the city hall before moving on though i wanted this building to stand out a little bit more from the city hall so i decided to scrap the small dome roof and reuse one of the castle’s Seashell roofs by adapting the color palette to blend with this building style and yes i did manage to use diorite as a building material and it not look incredibly ugly now for the interior of the library i had lots of ideas floating around inside my head but i wasn’t quite sure How i wanted to execute them i did however know that i wanted to create a large wall of bookshelves stretching all the way around the building once i’d done the top layer i included a grand staircase connecting the bottom and top floors and i used the same technique for the Floor below you’ll also notice i lined the tops of the bookshelves with sea lanterns and hid them as best as i could with some warped wood because i use shaders in my builds this really provides a nice ambient light source to help light the walls and the roof as you can See i try a few different quartz pillar designs before copying the final version around to the remaining support pillars connecting them to the roof and capping it off with a large chandelier before finally moving back to the entrance to finish things off as you probably have noticed the red Wool layout i planned for this building was originally on a diagonal however i decided to build on a straight axis this way of course it’s much easier to build it allows me to use world edit to mirror the building design plus it lets me create and add much more Detail to the structure i decided i wanted to go for a regular medieval fantasy style structure for the church with the addition of my own ocean twist here and there at the front of the church i build up a protruding tower with plenty of long cyan stained glass windows this tower Stands far above the rest of the build and once again features one of those spiral shell roofs i previously used due to the height of this tower i figured the foundations of the church need to be wider so i bring the walled section out further and included Another sloped roof attaching it to the main building block for the back section of the church i build a taller protruding section to create that stereotypical church shape adding another harshly sloped roof i move further to the back of the church and place another tower incorporating another one of those Shelves for the roof i add the final intricate details and mirror them to the other side i then add in the back wall and etch out a large stained glass window before finishing things up by varying the blocks on the roof and repositioning the building slightly Now inside the church i neaten things up and add a long turquoise carpet for the main isle i then start to add some intricate archways with lighting above making sure not to draw too much attention away from the large window at the back i paste the archways to the other side And add some support beams under the roof next i had some sea lanterns at the bottom of the archways and some pews then i continue to the back of the church to create an altar with a lectern in the center and a small coffin behind Given that i’d spent so much time perfecting the castle’s shell roofs in the last video of this project i thought i should incorporate them further into the city so i take some of the roof designs change the colours to match the city’s theme and dot them around the main buildings For the first shell building i wool off the shell’s main opening and edit the pillars either side i then add a small stairway to an entrance on the right side followed by a main doorway at the front with some small windows to bring it to life I place this nautilus shell near a drop off in terrain so i start by adding pillars to help support it i then place a round columned tower in the shell’s opening to act as a sort of watchtower near the village entrance finishing up with a small window in the Center of the shell spiral i then start the final shell building by creating a base first using another variant of that round columned design i’ve used elsewhere in the city next i place the shell on top and blend it with the building using a gradient of blocks finalizing things with a small Outcropping with an even smaller shell roof and of course some windows i reuse the nautilus watchtower at the back of the city given that i’m adding another entrance here i create a long sloping pathway towards the plinth behind the city which i have something really special planned for in a later episode Now that we’ve got a great infrastructure it’s time to create the smaller buildings to fill up this city and as you can see i’ve got a lot planned for this place to kick things off i start with a small round building with that classic domed roof to tie in with some of the Other designs in the city i make sure i differentiate each building in subtle ways with plenty of decorative touches and varying window placements across the path i create a taller square building on a diagonal to change things up a little bit when creating a populated area like this it’s always important to challenge Yourself to build on an angle and at different heights so that things don’t become too monotonous so once again i create another building on a diagonal this time a little larger still drawing lots of inspiration from ancient greek and roman architecture i use the same design again but this Time i add a little height to the upper section and add a small tower on top of it i paste in a copy of the small round building we made a few moments ago but vary it with a different design up top incorporating one of the shells as a Roof next i decide to create a sort of gazebo including twisting vines in my column design and a beacon to light up and decorate the center i then create yet another diagonal building using a more open plan approach to keep things fresh i add some finer details windows and an Extra section up top with a second dome to roof to finish it up next up you guessed it another diagonal building this time i start with a small outcropping for the entrance before working on the main part of the building i create a sloping roof that i mirror on each side Add in some windows and a little balcony i then add an additional section up top with some more small windows as you can see already there are so many different types of buildings you can only imagine all the different types of mer people who live here I’ve got so much more planned for the story and the next structures in this project and we haven’t really got into how this all relates to the underground kingdom yet anyhow for the next building i reused the circular design i created before and begin varying the top section adding a tall Open rooftop area moving swiftly onto the next building i create a larger circular section sat on a sloping area of the city pretty close to the castle i had some different crenellations to accent my design in particular this wide prismarine band around the center of the building I placed down a domed roof and some small windows topping it off with another classic domed rooftop area i then move on to another diagonal building creating a thinner and taller design this time sometimes something as simple as increasing or decreasing the height of a building can make it look so much more Unique next i add two roof sections some finer details and windows i then finish this one up with an entrance to the side now for the next round building which i try to vary with a slightly shorter bottom section i create an ornate archway design to line the top section Before adding a roof topped with two upper sections this time one domed and one capped with a shell from this view you can really see how things are coming together as i proceed to paste in a couple more building designs and make tweaks to change them up a little bit realistically copying pasting Some of your designs can work really well to actually help make things feel more connected just remember to spread things around and make changes to the finer details of the design for the remaining sections of the city i repurpose some of the buildings i previously designed and create a few new designs to Dot around then to finish up the main city structures i add in a small ticket booth next to the theatre and then create a balcony on the other side looking over a lower section of land which may just become home to some large spectacle in a future episode any guesses what i Might have planned unfortunately you’re just gonna have to wait and see but for now i tidy up the last part of the city and move on to the finishing touches moving to the back of the city next to the church i use the space to create a large graveyard I design an ornate fence to house the area and add some small entrances connected by a path still using the blue world to act as a placeholder for now i then add a wide variety of gravestones and a small section that has been dug up to create a new grave finishing things Up by placing in some grass to decorate now as you saw from the first video on this project i created some custom seaweed to place around the kingdom i use the same seaweed now to decorate the area around the castle and break things up a little bit because I made the castle on such a grand scale i had to build some giant kelp to create a more dynamic seascape as the custom seaweed wasn’t quite enough i used red and orange wool to sculpt a relatively basic design before replacing the whole thing with green concrete and terracotta variants i Paste in the kelp at varying heights among the seaweed around the sides of the castle and along the main pathway i then move to the back of the castle and add in some more giant kelp since we have quite a lot of space around the back here i fill in the blank Space with custom seaweed moving from the largest to the smallest variants to wrap things up finally to finish this part of the project i begin to decorate the main village now this was actually really tricky to do because this world is technically not under water this is Because the map is literally so huge and there are elements that will get washed away by the water if i were to add it perhaps it would make a fun video for the second channel someday so to get around the lack of water and add normal coral I had to use a command to randomly place waterlogged sandstone slabs followed by a command to put coral on top of those blocks this way when the coral is placed it won’t die out to get a smaller seaweed effect compared to my large custom pieces i used grass blocks to add grass tufts And then replace the grass blocks with sand as you can tell decorating the village with these in-game items was fiddly but it worked and with that this segment of the build is complete We’ve made a lot of progress with the underwater kingdom so far but just by looking at the map we’ve still got so much space left to fill perhaps we could do some sort of military area for the kingdom’s defenses here maybe even a more run-down village in the coral reef Or even a giant creature lurking somewhere deep in the ocean i’ve got some huge plans for this build but whatever comes next totally depends on what you guys suggest so make sure to leave your comments down below as to what i should add next either way i hope you guys enjoyed and I’ll see you in the next one oh yeah before i go we finally reached 1 million subscribers now of course i’ve got something special coming soon to celebrate so make sure you keep an eye out for that okay bye Video Information
