Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 10 Adds Dappled Forest Menu Panorama

Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 10 Adds Dappled Forest Menu Panorama

Mojang updates the main menu with cozy fall biome vibes while quietly reverting recent Drowned trident and animation changes with zero explanation.

If you launch Minecraft Java right now the first thing you will notice is the new background. Snapshot 10 swaps in a Dappled Forest panorama complete with an Abandoned Camp structure. It is a nice reminder that the next drop is coming and it looks properly autumnal.

The strangest line in the notes is the quiet reversion of all recent Drowned behavior and animation changes from this cycle. After multiple snapshots tweaking trident melee range and visuals Mojang put it all back to square one. No reason given.

Other Notable Changes

  • New Realms introduction screen that highlights key features and shows automatically during trials
  • Explorer maps renamed for consistency: Ocean Monument Map, Swamp Hut Map, Buried Trial Chambers Map, Woodland Mansion Map
  • Performance improvements when locating structures
  • Enchantments now correctly apply when protecting undead mobs from sunlight
  • Chorus Fruit teleport particles now face the correct direction
  • Resource pack version bumped to 97.0 and data pack to 118.0

This is standard polishing work ahead of the 26.3 release currently eyed for late September. The Dappled Forest with its colorful poplar trees and shelf mushrooms is shaping up to be the headline feature. Players on the snapshot feedback site are already posting their early builds.

The Main Menu now has an updated background panorama showing the new Dappled Forest biome with an Abandoned Camp.
