Minecraft – Farmer’s House Tutorial (Villager Houses)

Hello everybody my name is marlo and welcome back to my custom villager houses tutorial series where we are building a house for each of the minecraft villager professions all of the houses you can see along here with the exception of the final two have all been complete i have tutorials

For them so if you want to go back and take a look feel free to check out the playlist of this mini series but all of these builds are from my survival series where we are making a custom village and the original concept of this series right here came from mythical sausage

Both my playlist and his are going to be down in the description for you to check out if you would like to so far we have done the cleric weaponsmith fisherman cartographer shepard butcher leatherworker armorer fletcher stonemason and toolsmith houses but today we are building a home

For the farmer everything inside of this double chest right here are all of the items we need to make the farmer’s house which should be fairly self-explanatory for the most part but there are a couple of things that might be worth highlighting such as these 12 acacia trapdoors as

Opposed to the usual oak and spruce we’re using a little bit of acacia in this build so make sure you grab them as well you also don’t necessarily have to use torches any type of lighting block would be absolutely fine it’s going to be hidden away so it

Doesn’t really matter all that much and of course the usual things of remembering to put some flowers onto your grass blocks and inside of your flower pots and then something to go in this item frame i’m gonna be using bread but maybe wheat or some other thing that a farmer would

Have access to would be good so the farmer’s house is in fact a windmill as you may have guessed by now and that is actually what we did for a little farming area in my custom village i think it works and could make a pretty good home for a farmer especially if you

Surround it with some sort of crop just like what i’ve done here in my survival series so the first thing to do is make sure you got a large enough area 15 by 14 block should be good enough and we’re gonna walk up to this here and get

Our strip spruce logs as well as some spruce stairs and the first thing we can do is place down one strip spruce log and leave a gap of three and then place another one right there leave a block one diagonally and place another one so we have a gap in the

Middle right there we’ll leave three more again another diagonal block going across and you may have guessed the pattern by now we’re just doing this all the way around until we match up with the other side where we should have that one block gap in the center all of these can then be

Brought up by one two three more for a total of four and once you’ve got that done for each of the four sides here we can have two spruce stairs on top of the pillars with three upside down ones in the center going all the way around

Now we can add in all of our stone types and just to make this nice and easy for you guys to follow along with i’m just gonna use one stone type for now and add in the other three afterwards so we can grab our full blocks here

And have three just like that in each of these diagonal gaps in between the pillars for all four corners just like that should be all good and then we can face where we want the front of our house to be the main doorway to actually get inside

And place our first block here either side diagonally one block back from the pillar so we have something like this and then just have two more on top with an upside down stair in the middle and that will be where a doorway goes as for the back the opposite side of our

Doorway we’re just gonna have a three by three section right there fill that all in no windows because we’re gonna have the windows on the other side so for the left and the right hand side of the build we’ll just have three at the bottom two on either side just like that and

Then we can actually head outside and place an upside down stair at the top in the middle there leaving that one block gap open to place a window and then of course bearing in mind you haven’t already added in the other blocks you can go around and switch out

Some of these for the cobblestone crackstone bricks and andesite just to texturize all of this stone and make it look a little bit better for the next step we’re going to be making some changes for all of the four corners so i’ll just show you how to do

One of them and you can copy it on over three more times afterwards so we’re going to start off next to these three stone blocks here on the outside of the build and have two brick walls at the bottom two oak fences on top with two oak stairs facing outwards just like so

With an oak slab or just a full block like that either is fine it doesn’t matter a whole lot and then we’re gonna come inwards one block diagonally so we’re here placing the block like that next to these stone blocks right here diagonally away from the outside ones

And we’re gonna have one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen so we can do what i’ve just done here three more times for all of the four corners Go ahead and grab your spruce door and we can finish up our entrance way here by placing it on the back of that block just like so and whilst we’re inside of the house we can go ahead and place down our two glass panes for our window and

Just underneath these on both of the two sides we’re just gonna have three grass blocks there and cover them up with spruce trap doors just to make a nice little flower bed and of course you can go ahead and put some flowers or saplings or ferns

On top of those six grass blocks and then what we can do around the back here as we don’t have a window we’re gonna do something a little bit different we’re gonna go to the middle here and break these two blocks and place a lever here with a piston on top

Just to make a table we can actually go ahead and replace that dirt with one other stone type just to make it look a little bit better i’m gonna put some sort of barrel stack here something a little bit like that should be good and just left at the piston we can place

A composter we’ve got some more symmetrical building to do now so i’m going to show you how to do one of the sides and you can copy it on over to the other three afterwards so the first thing we can do is grab our torches or whatever other

Type of light source we’re using and we’re gonna place two here just to light up these corner spots as a zombie could potentially spawn in there and actually hit your villager if you’re planning to have one inside of here through this corner block and then it

Just lights up the build because it can actually get some light through these spruce trap doors which we’re gonna place along the top here five of those on the same level as the upside down stairs in front so we should have this at the moment and then we can grab

Our oak fence gates and have two here just behind the spruce stairs and then we’re gonna grab three acacia trap doors and just line them flicked upwards at the front here so we can do what i’ve just done here for the other three sides as well so you

Should end up with something like this eventually and now what we can do is grab our strip toke logs and walk through our main entrance way here and we’re gonna come to the center of this section right here and place down seven streptoclock so there’s one two three four five

Six and seven and then we can grab our oak stairs and we’re just gonna place an upside down one in front of all of these trapdoors here going all the way around just like so and then we can fill in this gap here with oak slabs

However we are going to leave this gap open as we’re actually going to place a ladder down here round the back of the build here just beside our strip toke logs we’re gonna have two spruce stairs at the bottom and two upside down ones at the top with

Two glass panes in the center so the back of the build should be looking like this and the other three sides are all the same so what we’re gonna do is have a spruce stair at the bottom of each of those next to the pillars here

Leave a gap of one and place two more at the top spruce trap door in the center with two more on the sides just to make a nice little archway leading to the balcony out here and then we can copy on over for these two sides as well

So that we eventually end up with something that looks like this next up if we place down three white terracotta above all of the blocks we’ve just placed down on all four sides it’s gonna make the next step a little bit easier of placing some oak slabs just in front of them

On the bottom of the block just like so and then we can grab our brick walls and have two of them in each of the corner with an oak slab on top and then two more up by half a block so each of the corners need to look like this

Which just makes this very small roof outline going all the way around the build we’re going to start work now on this central pillar section of the build so we’re going to grab our white terracotta again and starting off facing the front of the house because this side is actually completely

Different from the other three so we’re gonna have two oak fences just on top of that center block and then we’ll have two more on either side three more across the top and then just fill in these more six blocks here where then we can place a spruce button one up diagonally

From those oak fences and we’re just going to place one horizontal oak log on that block right there which we’ll come back to later it’s going to be the starting point of our windmill but then we can come around to the other sides here and we’re going to have a spruce there

Just above the center block and then two glass panes here with another upside down spruce there on top and then we’ll just fill in the rest with white terracotta going all the way around where we can then have two spruce trap doors on either side just as some shutters and then we can

Copy this on over to the other two sides Now that we have all four sides filled in we can start work on the roof and once again more symmetrical building here i’ll show you how to do one of the sides and you can copy it on over to the other three so we’re gonna have an

Upside down spruce there on the top of this block here with a spruce trap door in front of it and one more on top same over on this side as well two spruce slabs here with one spruce there in the center and then we can place a temporary block

On top of that stair there with a spruce strap door placed in front of it get rid of our temp block right there and then we’re gonna place a spruce slab so we can copy what we’ve just done over here to the other three sides to complete the roof we’re gonna have a

Spruce slab on the bottom part of this upside down stair here in each of the four corners just like that and then we’re gonna have these four oak slabs placed down in these sections right here if you just want to make them full blocks to have it be

A little bit easier feel free to do so but just so we get something that looks a little bit like this for all four of the sides and then finally we can have a spruce slab in the center here so that right there is the roof fully complete and the build mostly done

Except from one very key part which is actually going to be the windmill the first thing we can do is bring this oak log out by three more blocks for a total of four we’re gonna stick a spruce button on the front of it and cover this back block up

Next to the wall with oak trap doors on all four sides and do the same for this block here as well just adding some structural support potentially and it makes it look a little bit better so it’s not just an oak log sticking out really far from the wall and now what we

Can do is start work on the actual windmill so depending on your building level and how good you are at actually copying minecraft builds you may just be able to see a picture of this windmill and fully understand how to build it so here is the finished windmill if you

Think you can copy it go ahead and do that but if you want me to walk you through the steps here we go so we’re gonna grab our spruce fences here and on top of the oak log we’re gonna have one two and three of those and then come

To the left of it so we’re facing the front of the house here we’re gonna come to the left and have one two and three more another one and then two and then two more again so we have something that looks like this where we can then grab our white wall

And we’re gonna have two next to this fence another two here another one and then another two so we have something like this and then we can grab a couple of temporary blocks here and place one down where these wall blocks connect and we’re gonna have two out the back

Another temp block another two wall blocks another temp block one wall block and then that right there is a quarter of the windmill done once you have one of the blades of your windmill all done the rest of them are actually fairly easy to do you may even start to realize the

Pattern after a couple of them they’re basically the same thing but in a different direction so we’re not gonna do the left and the right we’ll actually do the one underneath so underneath this oak log we’ll have one two and three spruce fences and then we’re gonna place them on the right hand

Side this time and have three more of those and then we’ll have two more and then another two down here and as you may have guessed we’re gonna have two white wool then another two and then a one and then a two here and then we can grab our temporary blocks

And have one there with two white wall temp block two white wall and then just one tent block here with a single white wall so that the bottom looks like this as you can see the same as the top except flipped over that side the left and the right are

Ever so slightly different from the top and the bottom but they are virtually the same so regardless i’ll show you how to do this on the left side we’re going to place one two three come down a block and place one two three again and then we’re just gonna have one two three

Place like that and then we can grab our white wall and have two underneath them on those two sections and then we’re just gonna have one on these two and one so we have something that looks like this at the moment and then as always we can grab our temporary blocks and have

Two at the top here behind the temp block go ahead and break that one we’ll do the same for this side as well and then we’ll just have one here and then a temporary block underneath this bottom white wall and place another one back a block like that so as you can see

Ever so slightly different from the top and the bottom but still virtually the same and now finally the right hand side is gonna be the same as the left except we are going upwards so we’re gonna have one two three and then go up a block and have one two

Three one two and then three again and then we’ll grab our white wall two on top of these fences another two here one and one and then we can go ahead and place a temporary block here here here and here so we have something that looks like this at the moment

Admittedly fairly strange with those temporary blocks but we can go ahead and remove them in a second once we place two white wall here another two here one and one get rid of our temporary blocks and as you can see that is the windmill fully complete

So that is the outside of the build all done we’re now ready to head inside and do a couple of things on the interior to begin with here we’re going to grab our nine ladders and place them on this stryptoclog starting at the bottom going all the way

Up the top until we eventually reach the back of this spruce stair right here where we can then grab some spruce slabs and place them on the top part of this bottom white terracotta layer so eight of those filling up this area but of course leaving the open gap so we can actually

Access this top level via the ladder and now we can work on making the ceiling look a little bit nicer so we’re gonna have a temporary block placed in the center there with a spruce slab on the bottom part of that block right there destroy that one place an oak slab in

The center and then four more oak slabs down by half block in the corner and then the block that is just above the ladder we’re gonna hang a lantern down right there so on this top level here we are gonna make a very miniature version of a mill

So as you can see behind this block here is our windmill beam going across so you can make that an oak log if you want to it’s not really necessary though and we do only have a three by three area here not a whole lot of rooms what

We’re gonna do is have an oak log sticking outwards here a piston upside down with a lever on top go ahead and power that one right there so it sticks downwards then we’re gonna stick a smoker here facing any direction doesn’t matter a whole lot with a spruce fence on top so this

Probably doesn’t make a whole lot of sense physically i don’t think it would turn this way but in theory the windmill spins turns the piston and maybe churns up whatever it’s inside of not a smoker some sort of thing with the hole in the top i don’t know gotta use

Your imagination a little bit but i think it does look pretty cool now we can head down the ladder all the way to the bottom floor where this place is in desperate need of some decoration so the first thing we’re actually gonna do is break these two blocks either side

Of the ladder and replace it with our light block i’m using torches once again and then we’re gonna stick a composter on top the farmer’s workstation if you didn’t know that and i can’t really speak for the other versions of the game but in java edition light can actually go through composters

So it lights up the bottom level here nicely and we don’t have to worry about mob spawning but just left of our doorway here we’re going to break these two blocks and place a lever at the bottom and make another one of our piston tables then we can just grab a stone

Block here and replace the dirt with that and this dirt can become strip spruce log that way we don’t have any dirt on show and just looks a little bit better and now we can go ahead and get rid of the rest of the blocks on the floor

Grass or stone or whatever it happens to be and replace it with bricks or brick slabs if you want to save on some resources on top of the two composters we can have some chests just like so and on top of our piston table we can

Have an item frame with something to go inside as i said at the start of the video i’m gonna put some bread in here and then on the left hand side so if we walk in the door left of the composters we’re gonna place our bed down here just below the window

With a scaffolding table that has a flower pot on top to the right of the composters we’re going to have a spruce slab underneath this glass pane here with two upside down spruce stairs either side two spruce fences on top of both of those with a spruce fence gate in the center here

And a flower pot just below it a nice little counter design or desk maybe to fill the space over here and the final thing we have to place down is actually an oak pressure plate so all of the hidden lighting we’ve done in this build is above light level 7 to

Stop mob spawning as you can see over here with the exception of this one block right here and all we’re gonna do is place no pressure plate down that will stop mob spawning if they do try to in the very unlikely scenario actually transport on that block so that
