Unbelievable Refined Storage in Modded Minecraft #4!

hello everyone kexx here and welcome back to Ultimate Alchemy today we’re going to be working towards that refined storage that we keep talking about and figuring out how to automate that or the ingredients for that I should say we’ve got water from last time so the bushes are building up which is Great Oak saplings are good to [Music] go uh one thing that we can do with that which we already did in the last episode is make a bunch of Vines by crushing them so let’s uh did we make another Crusher or I guess we’ve got this pulverizer we’ll use this uh where did they go go throw those in we’ll get a bunch of vines that should give us enough string for pretty long time I’m hoping at least bunch of sand that’s still building up the 10 is getting there and then let’s see we’ll take the [Music] gravel probably don’t need all of that we can make some more grout if we need it for seared bricks uh do we need that Yeah we actually do let’s make let’s make the grout all the grout please okay so I am grout perfect we’re going to need some more fuel it looks like grab that from over here we don’t have a ton I maybe should get a couple more furnaces going with [Music] charcoal but this will all be automated so soon I just it’s hard to feel like it’s worth my time that’s always the question in these uh mod packs right is do you do you rush things and bootstrap your way doing the minimum to get there or do you go slow and automate things bit by bit and sometimes it’s better to rush things and skip a bunch of automation so that you can get a better way to do the automation but if you do too much of that then you get stuck over here and you haven’t built up a good foundation and you end up really just wasting a lot of your time and I think I struggle a lot with the rushing too much side of things so that tends to be my downfall for sure let’s get let’s grab another chest and throw that see it grabbed two again I don’t know what’s going going on with that if I just left click only grabbing one well of course now there’s uh no room left but I don’t yeah I don’t know it’s weird sometimes it grabs two okay and then I’ll put this maybe over to the side of the smeltery and we can put stuff like casts in there stuff we want to melt the basins Maybe a uh well some future iron I’m sure we’ll need it okay so invar is still working automatically o look at that ooh 100 invar ingots baby let’s go that is so good beautiful beautiful beautiful okay bar so I’m trying to even remember what we needed have I pinned it I haven’t even pinned it oh I wanted to make the bag of holding we can do that now can’t we yeah we have string and then paper is wood pulp which is really easy to do although my Carpenters are busy busy Little Bees speaking of bees I don’t think we’re going to do anything with bees in this pack but they are in the pack um Carpenter swear we have more just a matter of where there you are and this needs water which is kind of all over the place but the RF isn’t so I’ll put it here then we have to disconnect that then we’re going to need another Crusher for wood pulp just use this one for now rather than gravel here’s the question does compressed gravel fall it does not okay I was curious about that one too it is not like regular gravel oh this isn’t right apparently how do we make the wood pulp sawdust pul oh we just need the carpenter for it okay well that’s even easier then I just need water for this I’ll just do that the easy way for now yes no no power uh we’re out of power here cool cool cool cool [Music] um I guess we could use a flat transfer node which I seem nope we’re not out of them put the fishing rod back before I get bothered by it okay so then you need infinite wood over here think yep like in this case I could even it would just give me infinite pulp and fuel oh no sorry wrong building it’s this building we need to pull in from that there we go infinite power and we’ve almost got a full stack of wood pul already keep that full looks like we don’t have quite enough power to run everything here from one coal generator but that’s fine all right now paper is just to Wood pulp so easy so we’ll let that run for a minute go ahead and grab our seared bricks that should be enough for a couple more smeltery bricks I was going to say a couple more smelteries but I don’t know if that’s actually true so have so many random things that can just go bye-bye like all this Flint for example I don’t need that much Flint 13 paper what did we need this for oh yeah we were going to try and see what the heck a bag of holding is I probably should have just Googled it rather than taking the risk of wasting my time but here we are you guys get to watch it you guys get to watch me make mistakes live okay blank patterns let’s just make a bunch of those and then um holding we still need this magical wood from a regular bookshelf it’s really annoying that bookshelves are different types like visually I like it but otherwise it’s annoying okay four books is enough for one bookshelf make some planks and then planks and books me a bookshelf and then we bookshelf with a gold ingot make magical wood then we can make a bag of holding all right what’s this do ooh it’s what I hoped it is it is a giant pocket Dimension nice okay sweet so we can put all of our little tools that we actually might use someday like a drawer key or Redstone clocks we can put all this stuff in here and then we can stay more organized when we’re doing various building projects I probably should have like one stack of wood one stack of Cobble in there some of the stone bricks can stay in my regular inventory but yeah cuz I don’t need all this stuff all the time uh-oh what just happened oh I just this Crescent Hammer I swear is the bane of ghosting I think it creates more ghosting issues than any other thing I’ve seen it’s ridiculous okay I need more flat transfer nodes and just transfer nodes in general so let’s make some more of those and some more of these easy stack of pipes couple more transfer nodes couple more of those types I don’t really really know how much longer we’re going to need this stuff since we’re pretty close to refined storage but anyway okay at refined let’s bookmark you what’s my bookmark button again I’ve already forgotten a a is my bookmark so we’re going to need a crap ton of quartz enriched iron we’re going to need silicon which is crushed sand so let’s get a pulverizer going on sand which interestingly we could probably get happening right here let’s uh push out into you and then we can mechanical crafter into regular sand like so and then we’ve got a bunch of sand and then we just need a another pulverizer which means another coal generator which we do have don’t have we do have nice let’s see maybe you know what oh never mind I was going to remove that one because it could have powered this one but it’s fine and then let me grab all my barrels now that we have room to store them grab one flat transfer pull in Barrel there we go infinite power easy EST thing in the world make another pulverizer I’m going to need a bunch of these make four throw that there and then we want Auto input from the [Music] bottom should be orange right no blue is input just turn everything off that’s a good place to start there we go and there’s infinite silicon and then we’ll Auto output to the right like so and throw a chest down yes there we go easy infinite silicon and then we can make all the processors with that that is just saplings oh maybe I do need to automate that I forgot um yeah let’s see sticks are really easy to automate I don’t know why I’m dragging my feet on that I think I made a a big deal well not a big deal but in the last episode I was like I don’t need automated sticks I only need a few but it’s like who gives a crap it takes one step from infinite wood to make sticks and zero power is needed cuz these just automatically you know make infinite like that although I guess I needed a a little little FL transfer node didn’t I like that okay so now we’ve actually got infinite bushes which should probably go in a chest uh green pulls out like that that and now we’ve got infinite Oak saplings and we can Auto pulverize those into Vines even if we want to should I or do we need saplings for some other stuff I guess we need a bunch for oak leaves and compost but I could at least pulverize into a mini chest let’s do that we’ll Auto pulverize into a mini chest so you will turn all these off so we don’t accidentally do anything Auto in Auto out the back will be in the left will be uh primary output there we go that’ll get us a stack of vines I’m already pleased with what we’ve got automated here sweet okay and we’re going to need all sorts of other stuff I’m sure for like the cables we’ll have what we need for those destruction cores are easy construction cores are easy improved processors are easy we are going to need a bunch of gold still I’m not worried about that what about all these things fluid grids glass yeah I mean it’s just it’s really just this quartz enriched iron stuff okay well let’s start start working on it induction smelt iron and silver silver is annoying we have to alloy tin and or glass and iron okay so induction smelter invar here and I’ll make 10 of those go with three induction smelters for now all right let’s try our first semi automated smeltery nonsense yeah let’s do it so we’re going to need some micro smelteries which need which means more smelteries controllers I still have over here uh let’s see do I need two drains for each or just one I’m not really sure three controllers um what are you called actually oh they’re all called seared gauges or seared tanks that’s what it is yeah okay I really don’t think it matters I’m still partial to this one and then we just need some more seared bricks what am I doing the regular one thank you cool okie dokie let’s put some stuff over here so we’re going to need the controller that’s a drain bad start bad start uh the [Music] controller the tank can we share tanks these are the things that I do not know but I’m going to try it you should be the drain maybe I put the drains in the [Music] back it does not work okay so they each need their own [Music] [Music] yeah got it okay we do this this this this and this boom two smelteries now with these guys one’s going to be melting glass one’s going to be melting iron and then they need to alloy into a third [Music] one I’ll just stay symmetrical here and here the problem is I don’t have an easy way to put equal amounts of fluid such that you know we alloy the proper amount so that’s going to be the issue with most of these [Music] situations but I’m making silver making silver so let’s put the casting table need one of those oh God that’s a lot of tables let’s try casting so casting table I don’t know uh this is another experiment I don’t know if we can translocate sideways like this in my bag of holding fluid transfer node nope not transfer node trans trans locator oh I need more of those okay translocator for liquids there we go that should last me a while I’m hoping I can do this I am [Music] uncertain what is that I’m uncertain weird wait what why is it not letting me Place one on top of this but it lets me Place one on top of [Music] this now that feels weird to me oh this one’s not even on oh whoops there we go now it’ll work okay so then we put the table I don’t know if this works we’ll find out um and we’ll need the Ingot cast that we left over here and we can test it pretty easily by just grabbing an iron ingot and melt it which I need some lava buckets this is going to be really slow I hope it’s not too slow maybe I should have made them bigger I can always make them deeper or uh like further back easily enough what am I grabbing lava we’ll do two buckets per piece last me a while until we get lava in pipes and then we’ll go forever okay that takes forever yeah maybe the iron one should be deeper does it tell me how long it takes to melt tells me the the temperature but not the time it’s kind of annoying almost there yay it does work okay cool cool cool cool so we’re almost there then we just need to get the glass into one of these the iron into the other which is not as easy as it sounds um probably best to use I feel like we need the storage Network to make the storage Network maybe I should just batch craft for a bit I me it’s hard to argue with that when I can bring like 20 Stacks at once and we just don’t have the right kind of pipes what I would really need is the Ender IO um Ender pipes what are they called conduits uh these guys item conduits and that needs pulsating iron which needs to alloy well I could actually do this so maybe this isn’t crazy maybe I do just use those item pipes cuz these work pretty well and I only need three nuggets to make eight item conduits okay new plan new plan oh we have a partial amount of gold in each of those weird Okay so the new plan is grab some Ender and some iron just take a stack and then me Chuck it all in here those go so fast and we’ll get a little bit of of invar from that one nipple we should mostly get [Applause] pulsating and of course these will need to be reset annoyingly okay there we are pulsating iron is that it wow yeah that allo is fast okay one block four ingots so turn on one of these we’ll do both [Music] sweet seven ingots left yeah that two gems and 12 m buckets is going to be annoying two one and turn them off no did it work I think we’re okay I didn’t leave any behind sweet okay so there is some pulsating [Music] ingots then we need to pin that so I don’t have an issue we’re going to need that conduit binder stuff but that’s just uh basically grout smelted I am not grout that’s funny okay more seared bricks I think we finally made enough seared bricks he says watch that not be true oh there’s even a refined storage conduit for these that’s nice it’s not too bad to make either and that means we can have those going in the [Music] same kind of like uh run in the same square as these other types of conduits which eventually we might do the energy conduit what is energetic alloy that’s super easy oh I say that it’s not super easy cuz we can’t alloy it so we actually need the immersive engineering Arc furnace but it’s not too bad otherwise okay get some conduit binders I’d like to make uh I need six per craft so 24 is good don’t think we need the actual bars for anything so there we go 32 I don’t know if that’s enough let’s hope so but we can connect to the bottom to feed solid items in or do you have to connect to the front I’m actually not sure uh we shall discover [Music] yeah we’ll run this underneath [Music] here and we will need a filter to draw from our infinite iron from the drawer and the glass you know for now maybe I actually want to be able to get to that so I need a torch it’s really dark down here make a little [Music] catwalk okay so these guys let’s try to remember how this all works we want to insert we need a filter upgrade or we can just do separate channels let’s just do separate channels I’ll just insert Brown and you will insert blue glass is blue iron’s Brown and that’s it that’s all we need to do so then we should be able to hook this up need two separate connections to the drawer controller um so I’ll need another drawer controller is what that means there’s only one connection Point here move to this oh no I’m out I need more we’ve got plenty more binder now perfect then I need another drawer controller which is probably in this chest or controller slaves put that here and then this one will need filters um and not that so we want always [Music] active there will be a brown so I guess we need the filter upgrades either way basic item filter Advanced item filter I forget the difference I guess it just has more options but I would need zombie heads which I’m not going to be able to do for a while cuz I’ll need bone meal automated and rotten flesh and diamonds to Chisel so we’re not getting those for a while so hopefully basic logic controllers oh no don’t die or basic item filters are good enough need more paper um where was I making that chaos is getting worse I’m already becoming concerned for myself wait what isn’t that how oh I need water um didn’t that work it is working okay there we go let’s just make all the pulp here that’ll do it oh it doesn’t never mind it doesn’t automatically put those items into its own little thing here it’s own output so I’ll just do one stack at a time okay basic item filters need uh Hoppers the hopper I missed boom 46 Hoppers that should last a while boom six item filters so now I think what I should do is filter on the output end where I will put this here no sorry there no no no they’re gone forever oh it’s okay it’s just paper and iron I’m glad that wasn’t something more valuable that is funny though that was not what we wanted so now we need more paper a little sooner than we planned LOL uh but anyway we’ll filter over there and then we can just extract act um constantly on channel brown or maybe we can pick a whole new channel uh let’s pick purple so we’ll just pull on channel purple some paper gosh that was ridiculous try again for some more filters don’t throw them all over the side this time golly gosh okay so filter settings white list and we want Iron Ingot somehow we got 10 in there [Music] um I don’t think you can just bucket stuff out either super [Music] annoying although now that I think about it we don’t have a good way to do these fluids yet anyway we were already talking about that with refined storage being able to Output a specific amount um so I need to give up on this for a minute is what I’m saying did I say that earlier I can’t even remember now three blocks of invar let’s let’s get that going and then I will take glass and iron not sure of the amounts how tall can these bad boys go let’s do another nine at a time I did that so if it keeps going past the invar it won’t put in a partial of like pulsating iron and Kaboom wow that’s a lot whoa whoa I didn’t know you could fly I thought I would land on it it looked like I would land on makes sense it’s melting the class can you just do sand you need glass liquid glass oh yeah I could just do sand doesn’t really matter NOP now it’s on iron okay turn these off whoa there it is there’s the silver that’s so many blocks um but the problem is each block is not I don’t know like what’s the ratio on Silver is it one of each really wish there was another way to do silver this alloying is really hard to automate uh so it doubles so one iron ingot will make two silver ingots and 125 glass is8 of a block so that’s 1 18 of a glass block and one is 18 out of 144 I don’t is that times that 1 18 as well 18 * 8 no I think it’s 1 nth I think that’s a nugget a nugget of iron and an eighth of a glass so of course they’re not quite the same amount yeah there you go there’s 11 blocks of silver that is quite a lot that is quite a lot I’m curious if this is going to be enough for all of the RS stuff we need to build or not the glass going next what else do we need to do refined storage oh we need some induction smelting and some power did I make these yet I did okay so I’ve got three of these bad boys throw them over here and we’ll need uh let’s see make sure this is still good okay that should result in quite a bit of silver here okay so then I’m going to get a chest of silver going to have two different inputs so I’ll probably just have how do I do this cuz those are two different colors I can set it so that one color only accepts the yeah yeah yeah this is do okay and then the back will be purple and so then those can only accept two different things we’ll do the same thing for this top green back purple top green back purple and then we’ll have two chests one connected to one channel one connected to the other uh I need some chests I should probably have a stack in my little pouch here like so and then I will just extract always active extract always active insert insert I forget does this switch the mode it does there we go and then we’ll do power underneath stand my little catwalk here some sort of power generation and did I ever do those conduit things or did I say I’m too lazy for it I think I was too lazy for it conduit what is that again red stone and iron so I think what we’re going to do of course I need power to the induction smelter to make some pulsating iron to make energy conduits yeah let’s make some more coal generators have four black quartz still heck I could just make three of these and call it a day for now this is this is definitely the Lazy Man’s way to do it but it’s going to work and I can just do this and then we can do this pull in pull in pull in and then I can do this and it’s the easiest infinite power you ever done seen there you go three induction smelters I don’t even know if I needed three but we got them all ready to go go team we got lots of silver three and a half stacks okay sweet iron goes there silver goes there I don’t think it matters there you go induction smelting done we’re going to need another chest for the outputs oh output from the front um can I not rotate you what I can’t rotate oh that’s a bummer and I wanted to rotate their faces to be sideways so then I could use this face um I guess we just need an item filter for the result and we’ll just put the chest back here and we will also extract on these but then we need a filter otherwise yeah that’ll fill up with iron which is now what’s happening okay uh filter and we need quartz enriched iron bloop uh I was wondering if that would work the filter from the side and it does which is so nice insert and extract always active always active always active put iron back in here and then we’re going to have to configure that back slot to be in and out which is that no I guess it could just be that right does that not work it is extracting on green no that setting doesn’t work cuz this one unfortunately will insert into either slot which would fill up both slots with iron potentially but if it’s fixed to just inserting to that slot it can’t also extract so as long as I keep this fed it’ll work but it’s going to stop working after that that’s so annoying and the advanced filters would work too but of course I don’t have those so whatever we’ll just have to leave it that for now the blue orange combo bloure as some may say yeah there we go crap ton of quartz enriched iron is now within my grass my grubby little paws we run out of silver that’s easy to fix course we don’t have sand but I do have glass Bing b boom let’s do a Half Stack and I need 10 more higher more probably going to start using like actually reasonable amounts of lava I might have to grab that fluid transposer we’re so close to refined storage yeah yes okay we’ve got all the quartz enriched iron now I have no idea what I’m doing with refined storage I’ve used ae2 before and I know they’re basically the same thing but that was years ago and I’ve forgotten half of what I learned so you’re going to have to bear with me here as we uh continue to learn so one thing I want to do is put a lot of these on the quick access here so I’m going to need the controller I’m going to need the grid I’m going to need crafting pattern fluid I’m going to need uh probably those eventually I’m going to need Crafters I’m going to need the disc drive do I need storage blocks I’m so confused what is the storage block I thought you didn’t need crafting Computing actually don’t know how that works um probably do some 4K storage discs to start what do they need the gold ingot processors yeah I’ll do a couple 4ks and then I want the wireless grid and the wireless crafter and then I don’t know what any of these do filter network card I have no idea I’m scared hold me I do need that and I need a bunch of cables and I will need importers exporters and Constructors Destructor and external storage yeah that’s what we attach to our controller slave for the drawer Network okay so getting started I need a controller oh right I’m going to have to smelt all these oh crap I need statue of The Thinker for this one oh no it’s easy but it’s annoying thought I had everything I needed I forgot to check this one so this we need to Auto chisel um smooth Stone which actually going to be really easy okay um I have a smooth Stoner a stoner yes I do okay so check this out I have a million chisels in there so alls we need is a mechanical crafter right here and another smooth Stone get rid of some of this stuff got to keep smelting okay uh grab one of those smooth Stones place it here and then we do statue of The Thinker okay now that’s annoying to craft these though because then like I didn’t mean to do that um cuz those all take up a separate inventory slot so maybe I mean how many do I actually need I can do this manually I’ll be fine I’ll be fine definitely need more than 24 of those bindings Vines make some string are these the same oh it’s just the any type of Vine option okay and we are full of crap let’s do some clean up let’s get rid of some slabs some stairs and a butt ton of sticks that I don’t need right at this minute all right good clean up don’t need these buckets either all right gold how we doing on gold actually not amazing I could use some more gold what was it again glowstone [Music] and iron already forgot 10 10 yeah 10 and glowstone uh oh oh we’re okay um go pretty fast where silver oh no I don’t remember which one I’m supposed to go in Sil is in the Top’s in the bottom right okay gold let going it’s weird I can fit 63 items in there was just under a full stack nice still need to put in a bunch of glass I still well no no they’re actually even right now oh no I made electrum oh no silver and glowstone is electrum well we’re going to need electrum anyway whoops whoopsies wow we made a lot of electrum okay okay fair enough so we we’ve got silver gold and electrum whatever it’ll work we’ll need we’ll need a bunch of electrum okay so I need the Silicon as well for crafting where did that end up here stack some iron yeah we ended up with a lot of electrum all right one stack of those guys almost a stack of those guys and we need these stupid statues H which is super annoying are we going to have to AutoCraft these or will they oh yeah that’s really bad uh how many of these do I need maybe I should have used the forestry work tables for this I figured we could just skip those entirely and get straight to RS I do know they exist okay what do these go into Riders transmitter Wireless grid pattern grid I might be okay without a million of them I need him for writers and readers though so it’s not like I can just not have very many I’ll do one more of these and call it a day need to get faster with this click click click I can just hold shift the whole time and then we finally will start to have RS stuff so clear out your inventories start your engines half of that that these grab some more charcoal oh this is starting to feel really good and we’re not even there yet okay let me get some more gold going if the electrum ever got drained out it’s still working on it but it’s actually nice to have electrum I mean we are going to need that stuff not not kidding about that quite a few recipes later that use it okay so two stacks Stacks let’s turn these off for a minute I’ll do the 10 first cuz it’s super easy or fast I should say say it’s not like the glow Stone’s hard it just smelts a lot slower okay there’s a bunch of [Music] 10 would it be faster to turn these into glow stones and then melt that 1,000 Milli buckets whereas these I think it would be I assume they’ll take longer but then I don’t have to babysit it or are they even taking longer uh yeah they’re taking longer but not four times longer looks like about half the speed gold oh dang it I didn’t mean to do that start your engines make me some gold ingots boys can’t run out of our gold Supply there it is there’s the processors oh it feels so good boom boom boom we’ve got a bunch of the quartz enriched iron we’ll see what else I’m missing probably plenty of things but so is this cheaper one way or the other we need a 4K storage part either way and the housing is the no it’s the same four of those maybe six um 4K storage part two three one two three one two three 1 two [Music] three 2 three four oh I didn’t make six damn it okay there we go one two three four five six beautiful disc drive needs a bunch of these machine casings I’ll just make eight of those to start and a bunch of chests okay a stack of those in here and there’s our disc drive now where will I put this this is a good question I think I’m going to I’m going to go for the stone platform here we’ll remove this little little guy guy and we’ll start it right maybe slightly towards the back so we can walk by it put it there there we go 24K of storage to start we will definitely have to upgrade that and then I need the controller where did you go boom we’ll need to give it power I have no idea how any of this works uh let’s make some coal generators oh I’m out of black quartz aren’t I so one two three no I have one more perfect perfect where’s that machine casing whole [Music] generator I have no idea if this will provide enough power we have other means to make Power later uh don’t worry [Music] I mean we even have other means to make power now but ah wrong button shift [Music] click okay there we go we’re [Music] running we’re running it’s working something’s working okay uh then we need a uh uh controller a grid I don’t even know what these are I’ll make uh Four Construction [Music] cores some of those destruction cores what does this do lets me view items oh and put items in okay but really what we want is the crafter probably I don’t even know making a regular grid I think was useless I’m starting to remember what these do um yeah yeah yeah okay so I’ll just pick up that Grid at least in my memory I never use the regular viewing I always just use the crafting one [Music] so this is what we want now I can put everything in here and it will just work and draw from the crafting wonderful wonderful wonderful okay and then then what do we do then we need pattern grid like what even is that I don’t even know what a pattern grid is but we’re going to make one because I need to remember how all this works fluid grid I’ll leave off for now crafter I’ll make one that’s that’s really it I mean oh ender pearls drat uh we’ll get ender pearls in a bit they’re kind of annoying to start that’ll be in the next episode for sure I know we’re already already running late here okay so what is the pattern grid versus the crafting grid it has this thing going on oh this is how we make the patterns that we put into the Crafters is that right I think oh God I can’t remember any of this I think that’s how that works so if I were to like Infuse this as a pattern I need it I need the little pattern item need that thankfully doesn’t need any cores of any type and then I do that and then that pattern goes in here yeah and now the crafter so now I can just put wood in here and I can be like oh I want a bunch of wood and it’ll be like oh you don’t have enough but I can do one start oh and it does it man I love this game okay well we’re going to have to end the episode here because we’re already running quite late but we got we got RS started and boy does that feel good we’ll get it connected to our drawer stuff in the next episode but for now I’m happy with this as
