Minecraft 1.18 Has A Big Biome Problem…

Hey there everybody it’s me microbiomes currently there is no legal definition for a microbiome wait no never mind there there is there definitely is one but it’s wrong in minecraft microbiome is a smaller smallish biome the sizing of these microbiomes can range it could be something kind of like this a decent

Size or it could end up being something like this an absolutely tiny biome like like what even is this thing you can’t even put a house there microbiomes seem to be a brand new and divisive part of this 1.18 generation today we’re going to talk about it are microbiomes good

About microbiomes so was the poll based off of the current results of this poll and other comments that i’ve been seeing online on twitter and in my comment section microbiomes are a pretty divisive thing some people love them some people hate them for today’s video we’ll be taking a look at microbiomes

And experimental snapshot number three for 1.18 so this right here to me in my opinion this is a good example of a microbiome kind of working i mean it’s a savannah biome or shattered savannah with terra cotta yeah that blends pretty nicely that looks good over here i

Maybe not so we have a jungle which would make sense with the terracotta enemy both very warm places but then we have a normal forest essentially cut in half by a river of terracotta yeah that’s really really weird is that good uh based off of what i’ve been saying in

All of the experimental snapshots so far sometimes biome placement works out pretty nicely especially when the bottoms are a little bit more similar we have a birch forest biome over here flower forest right there there’s a meadow over there and a normal forest all of these biomes are pretty similar

In both features and grass coloration so it kind of works out nicely i feel like the coloration of the biome in general makes a huge difference here so we have the metal biome that’s just like a light green grass kind of like the tiger and then the flower force which is a little

Bit warmer but yeah pretty similar so there’s no huge contrast going on but spots like this over here are where things start to get a little bit more strange so we have i guess apparently the world’s smallest dark oak forest biome uh right in here we have three

Trees there’s more over there which which makes sense but this like like what that’s really weird next let’s make a brand new world this is going to be a completely random world we’ll see what we get our microbiome is a little bit too much right now let’s see so this is

The first world that i got it looks like we spawn in the middle of a frozen ocean with apparently some kind of island over here is this a different biome no no it’s not you know i don’t think i’ve ever seen the grass color in the frozen ocean biome this is really interesting

So across the board in here it looks like all of this is a frozen ocean it’s just some kind of island that has formed in the frozen ocean i’ve never really seen that before but it’s cool that’s fine icebergs in the frozen ocean definitely check out that’s really cool

Looking but is that weird plant bug back why is there a poppy there that should wait could we have always put those on snow uh anyways this biome right here is pretty gigantic and consistent seeing some weird generation here like like trees on icebergs but i i think that’s a

Different problem this is an interesting world it looks like at spawn we have pretty much the biggest frozen ocean that i’ve seen in a while but over in this direction we finally have land this is another one of those examples where we have biomes that are pretty similar

And kind of make sense being blended if a little bit of snow ends up inside of the mega tiger that’s fine this is actually some insane generation like this is a really cool place with the coarse dirt and the mountains all over the place things like this happening

Over here even though they may be a little bit weird they kind of make sense like i guess i could see that happening a gigantic tiger tree growing in the middle of the snow i mean maybe it happens sometimes i mean it’s a little out of place feeling definitely random

For sure but it’s not like the craziest thing in the world it’s not like a small desert in the middle of the snow that kind of makes sense the current biome generation seems to work out pretty well when you have biomes next to each other that are similar or have something in

Common maybe the bottoms share the same type of tree maybe the grass color isn’t too different maybe the temperature is close i’ve had another microbiome and another microbiome that actually worked out pretty much perfectly too ice spikes about him in the middle of this gigantic frozen area frozen ocean over there

Snowy beach right here frozen river ice spikes yeah it all kind of makes sense here it’s definitely not the biggest ice spikes bomb in the world but it’s not the smallest one either it could get smaller if it were to get smaller i think that’s where things start to get a

Little bit too too messy small random biomes in the middle of other biomes so we have an interesting thing going on right here we have this gigantic mountain with trees all over it it’s very cool we have mega tiger over there then snowy versions of taiga and tundra right there and then a

Forest so i’m not too sure if technically you could consider this a microbiome because it is pretty big at this point but this this forest has essentially become some sort of strange land river the forest cuts in between the snowy tundra over there and the tiger biome right in here and yeah like

Basically creates a river this is weird i feel like this makes things way too busy and look at this because the forest tried to force its way through here the tiger is actually mixed in here too like that right there really really weird that’s a problem that’s not good it does

Blend in but at the same time not really if i were to take the trees out we would see a huge difference in the grass color right there and it could be really tricky to work with see it’s not the idea of microbiomes it’s bad it’s a cool

Idea it’s just how they’re being implemented here it happens again we have a big lake area right here frozen area and then a strange forest on the island like just a small forest right there turns into something completely different then the force pops back up and then planes bomb now on one hand

This could kind of work out because the planes bomb and the forest biome at least to me are pretty similar biomes but before 1.18 things like this happening uh it wouldn’t happen very often now it happens like so much and it happened again over here we have a

Plane’s biome with a tiny forest pile like this should all just be planes in fact actually check this out this is the perfect example so we have a beach bottom right here if we move over this way we’re going to go into the forest and then the plains and the forests

They’re basically like fighting each other in there like come on forest just give up microbiomes are a pretty cool concept if the biomes are similar it works out pretty nicely and doesn’t stand out too much but if these microbiomes are happening too much it makes the world unnecessarily busy so

Check this out we have snowy biome over there we have the planes right in here we have the forest over here we have more forest over there we have planes again over there then we have the snowy biome over here with ice spikes in the middle of a village yeah this is busy

This is really really busy i mean don’t get me wrong i like the ice bikes they’re cool but right now in experimental snapshot 3 they seem so common and the more common it gets the less cool it gets this is actually an insanely busy area when it comes to

Bottoms i can see a couple biomes one the plane spine two the forest three that snowy biome over there four the mega tiger right there five the ice spikes biome and six the river biome six biomes all from one spot insanely high up yes for sure but six biomes all in

This small area and how they blend is so messy we all know we’ve all seen it the biome generation can be weird in minecraft that’s not the problem at all it’s fine when a desert turns into a frozen ocean it’s interesting but as a builder when

Biomes start to get broken up so much it makes things way more difficult so completely random world and it happened again right here at spawn that’s the world seed this is where i am the forest bottom why does it even exist here it’s just too much it’s a random clump of

Trees in here that is tiny gets broken up into like literally spots that are probably like 10 blocks in total yeah it’s really weird like i said if this were to happen every once in a while like it’s a rare occurrence that would be cool that would be fine it’s

Understandable it’s interesting but when it happens in pretty much every single biome that you find like constantly you find a new biome and there’s a smaller biome inside of it cutting it up kind of strangely like over here flower forest and the forest they work well together

Because of the grass color but if the grass color were different this would look really really weird same thing over here big problem big problem the forest biome is for some reason cutting way into the tiger here it’s like a small forest too because we have flower forest

Right there so it’s like this whole area right there i i guess and then maybe over there but like it’s separated by the lake oh man and where it starts to get really really different looking is when you have biomes that are made out of completely different blocks all

Together like the beach biome right here of course in the middle of the planes yes so let’s actually try something out locate biome badlands from what i’ve been seeing a lot of people don’t like how bad lens bombs generate in the 1.18 experimental snapshots you know to be

Honest i do think they’re cool looking but i’m kind of agreeing look at this look at this what it’s not the bathroom inspired them but uh what like like what is this right here extreme hills with with snow i mean i guess huh it’s so weird looking should the

Badlands bomb be as rare as it is in 1.17 no maybe not it would be nice to be able to find these things more commonly but should it be breaking up every single warm biome like a desert in a savannah biome definitely not no way now it might just

Be because the badlands biome is so different but i feel like every single time i found a badlands bomb in these experimental snapshots it’s broken up really really strangely so we have badlands in here a desert right there and then a forest in the middle of it

Too and then not to mention the extreme hill is over there and it looks like because of the flowers we have a metal biome right there too tons of microbiomes over here insanely cool looking mountain you can’t deny with some cool caves in it too but it

Happened to get over here micro forest biome right there and the desert in general it’s all kind of a micro bomb because the biomes get so cut up by each other it’s really not that big at all oh yeah and look at that the badlands continues over there really randomly

This is what i’ve been talking about the whole video though when you have biomes that are really different from each other like this right here look at how weird this looks it looks like an entirely different type of tree like it’s cool i guess but it’s so weird so

Is there actually a desert even in here um or is it no it’s all like forest like why is this even actually happening maybe that’s some kind of weird bug microbiomes are cool they add a lot of variation to the world and maybe could make it easier to find certain biomes

But when they’re happening like this right now it’s just too much hey oh wait a second it’s me your editor i was just looking at this mesa biome actually i didn’t even realize it but look at this thing it’s like a perfect circle that’s so cool world generation when it comes to biomes

Biome variation it’s too much it’s too crazy and now that things need to be natural because they don’t but this is so strange it’s like a circle of a badlands biome it’s a pretty sweet looking hill though like look at that thing that’s so cool looking i

Think you get the point by now but we’re gonna look at one final example microbiomes going crazy again bamboo forest in the middle of the forest biome just because they’re both forests does not mean they should blend together the jungle over here is pretty sizable and

Gets caught up a lot by the bamboo forest that’s okay they’re similar it didn’t happen this time at least i don’t think it did but imagine finding this bamboo forest right here in the middle of the jungle when you have the other bamboo forest way over there and you

Find a panda right here like rolling around rolling through the normal forest biome yeah that would be weird don’t get me wrong i love the new 1.18 generation with the new mountains and everything like that it’s really really cool but biomes right now they’re way too busy
