I built a fancy Kingdom in Minecraft complete with mountains and rivers twisting forests and Rocky Moors this map will be filled with cities and ruins castles and dungeons twisting caverns and dark secrets but why would I take on a project of this size Minecraft is the world’s most successful sandbox game and As such it has Limitless potential combined with the active and enthusiastic modding Community this means that truly anything is possible and I intend to push that to its limits growing up I’ve always been a fan of open World roleplaying Games titles like Skyrim and Fallout immediately spring to Mind I love the freedom they give to the player whilst also having a storyline and developed world I’ve been working closely with a Minecraft events YouTuber called Lich and after the success of our previous two events together we hunger for something more something bigger something grander what better way than to combine The elements that make RPG so enjoyable to me with the mass multiplayer events hosted by Lich with with the help of the extensive mods list of course this video is only the first in a series of videos that will be made on this map so be sure To subscribe to keep up to date with the project and if you’d like to take part in the event then join L’s Discord link below and keep an eye out for the application form to create the map for the event I used well painter the map is split in Half by a mountain range with the fairlands of The Mortals to the South and the corrupted wastelands to the north the aim of the event will be for players to make their way from Port Haven the starting City being built in this video to a mysterious point in the Wastelands however this will not be as straightforward as in previous events because this time around Minecraft is simply a medium by which to host the game and therefore players will not be able to build or mine in the traditional sense instead they must Venture across the map to several different cities Including but not limited to a dwarf City for armor and physical weapons an elf City for magical items and enchant Ms and a thev slum to buy miscellaneous and unregulated items along with these free cities there will also be many Dungeons and locations scattered across the map which players can raid for coins And loot which can be traded at aforementioned cities but enough about the map let’s dive into the player spawning location Port Haven due to this City’s coastal location I wanted to make it one with the sea therefore the entire city is based around a network of canals that surround the central Castle and Flow out towards the ocean because of this I had to Mark out the layout of the city in wall and then excavate with world edit to create the channels for the water to flow through once the layout was complete I got to work creating the city’s outer walls each Quarter of the city has a gate housee at a 45° angle which leads to the Main Street due to the curve of the wall detailing was a challenge so instead I opted for a gradient from Stone to quartz running up the wall along with indents at regular intervals to break up The flat surface I also created a street layout and draw Bridges across the canals and added extra detailing to the tops of the towers on the Walls this city would require a lot of buildings at many different angles therefore I set to work creating a modular asset pack for Medieval houses this pack includes houses at a 90 45 and 22° angle to fully follow the curve of the city the pack is available for free On my planet Minecraft page linked below the first use of this pack was to add houses to the top of the city walls I wanted to create the impression that the city was originally built as a fortress however it has existed in such a long period of peace that militarized Defenses were no longer necessary and the population exploded to the point where people even built their homes on top of the old walls after rotating and copying the walls to all quarters I moved on to creating the central Castle this Castle is the centerpiece of the city and Therefore I wanted it to be big and Grand and appear far older than the surrounding buildings this Castle is a relic from Port Haven’s Imperial past a reflection of its military and political power in ages long gone perhaps some of this pride and arrogance still exists within the castle Walls after the castle was completed I moved on to creating the three main buildings players would be able to interact with within the city to start with was the tavern which will hopefully be the first place players visit and will provide food and rumors to help guide the Players to key points on the map next was the Cathedral this building will serve as an introduction to the events Health regeneration mechanisms as churches will be scattered across the map where players can be blessed to heal their Wounds the final key building is the adventurers Guild where players will receive formal quests and maps to help navigate a large and confusing World due to this building being away from the main street I gave it a large clock tower so as it would stand out above the other Buildings to ensure players would travel the correct way around the city I raised the draw bridges on one side of the first quarter to allow for a boat to pass through this both justifies the placement of the canals but also steers player in the correct direction in the world with minimal Guidance the modular asset pack was then used again to fill the streets with buildings using this method also meant that there are many smaller side streets and passages sneaking their way between the main roads which creates Variety in the ways that players can Traverse this location to communicate the safety of This area I opted for an incredibly vibrant color palette for the city’s roofs this also has the effect of breaking up the individual buildings and making the city look far more populated and less formulaic To create slightly more variety within the different quarters of the city I created a mini Coliseum Arena rising up from the houses surrounding it due to the shape and placement of this build I had to redirect the streets around it which also helped make each quarter unique Once the main city was complete it was time to build the port for which the city was named I wanted to create a safed harbor guarded by a large Coastal wall to start with I marked it out with wall then designed a wall tile which I Copied to all sides and outlined to fill in the area above with different types of stone I then used the ship asset which true fans May recognize from my King’s Coast build along with the larger Battleship designed for that map by Caesar which I modified to blend better With the city’s color palette after this I created a dockyard buildings and a warehouse which I scattered across the harbor along with strings of Lights to guide the players towards the city to create the seaw wall I reused the towers from beside the canals and repurposed them into burning lighthouses I then Joined them together with high walls and marches matching the gradients of the main city walls to ensure that the city would not be attacked by sea I designed huge mortar cannons that sit at top rails on the walls to Target approaching ships that may wish the city harm I also Drained one of the docks to create a dry dock within which a new ship is being constructed implying that the city is still well within the Heyday of trading with distant lands Port Haven is not the only city that was being worked on during this time my friend Bill Bank who has helped With previous projects took creative lead over the dwarf City the dwarf city is located at the base of a mountain on the west side of the map players will visit this city for high level armor or as part of the Imperial quest line wherein the Dwarven mines are an alternative route to the Wastelands Bill Bank started by creating large industrial walls using a Blackstone gradient to create a sock covered effect resulting from the Dwarven forges he then created an asset pack for houses which he combined to form unique streets these streets were pasted into the city leaving room for streets and canals between Them once the street level was complete Bill Bank moved on to the raise tier that would house the castle after experimenting with several different stair designs he settled on a firm but imposing slope up from the Main Street the castle went through a couple rough designs but Bill Bank eventually settled On an arabor inspired keep carved out at the Mountain’s face which would begin with a series of columns against a flat wall but were given more definition in depth over time Bill bank then created a series of aqueducts that would run out from the mountain and into the city possibly Containing the water used to call the Dwarven forges within the keep many walkways and balconies were added across the facade of the castle creating a visually stunning impression from the street level the huge Gateway at the front of the castle Blends seamlessly into the mountain above creating the impression that every Pillow was chiseled from The Rock itself within the keep is the beginnings of a pit descending into the Earth this is where the entrance to the forges and mines will eventually be installed after creating some more unique buildings such as Market stalls and an armor Workshop Bill Bank moved on To creating guard towers keeping watch over the streets below this is where the city has been left off for now and so far has taken him 120 hours to reach this point we will check up on Dwarven City in later videos to see what has changed the map is far far larger than Just the cities themselves and players will spend most of their time exploring the roads and wilderness between them in search of Loot and monsters to slay perhaps even coming into conflict or companionship with rival groups of adventurers along the way I started out on the outskirts of Port Haven itself Adding smaller towns and Villages among the wheat fields that feed the city and the people of the fairlands small windmills were scattered around amongst these to process the wheat into bread that can be exported across the seas bringing wealth to the kingdom all villages will have a Tavern And a Church where players can purchase food and essential supplies and be absolved of their sins to recover health these villages will also be present further out in the wilderness serving as a save point to keep players stocked up on their long Journeys however the further players Venture from the safety of the ward City the less friendly the landscape shall become the wheat Fields border onto the boorlands a rough and rocky area almost Barren of trees and teaming with hostile creatur the ruins of old castles throughout this area pay tribute to the Region’s continually turbulent history and only The most desperate of solves there to forge their home here however the thief city of the mands will be revealed at a later date along with the social outcasts and outlaws that shelter there the main pull of the mands is a high density of dungeons found her containing valuables and weapons the Players will need to progress these dungeons vary in size and difficulty however no player should enter them unprepared no matter how harmless they may seem to speed up the dungeon building process I created yet another asset pack with three different styles of dungeon Gothic cave and overgrown each dungeon Type would contain different mobs which will be shown in a later video the main danger presented by the mands is the wandering War bands Of Orcs they live in hastily built C s and survive on the blood of Travelers and other tribes they have many outposts along the North Road making access to the mor a challenge however the Orcs guard their huge piles of stolen wealth fiercely guaranteeing a worthwhile fight for those brave enough to take them on my obsession with asset packs continued to the Orcs for whom I designed multiple tents and towers that Could be used to build up their camps this made scattering tribes around the Moors far easier this concludes part one of the fantasy Kingdom project if you’re interested in being a participant in the event join lich’s Discord below and keep a lookout for applications if you are a builder Yourself and would like to help out then message me on any of my socials link below this project will be a long one so all help is appreciated if you’d like to download this map yourself it will be available on my patreon for5 once the event video has dropped so keep your Eyes peeled for that and most importantly of all be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss the next part of this project or any of my future undertakings they’re only going to get more ambitious from here hopefully releasing soon will be the full video on my 100 players dig to The void map along with L’s event video the map was designed for once this video releases the entire map will be available on my patreon almost a year after its initial creation so keep your eyes peeled for that Video Information

After 10 months and over 400 hours in development, the first video on my Minecraft medieval fantasy project is finally ready. The map is inspired by open world RPG games like Skyrim and Fallout, but is also heavily influenced by Dungeons and Dragons.
in this video I describe the creation of the map, the city of porthaven, the dwarf city created by BuildBank, and the various features found in the wilderness (dungeons, castles, ruins, ork camps).
the main building styles I have used are gothic and European mediaeval / Tudor, many of the builds are inspired by my previous projects such as churches, cathedrals and castles.
This map is being created for an RPG style event that will be hosted by lich sometime in the next year. currently I am doing the majority of the building, lore and coding behind the event myself, so any help is appreciated. if you’d like to apply to be a builder then please join my discord linked above or message me on any of my socials.
