A developer turned the classic Black Ops 2 map into a Fabric mod that executes directly in Java Edition with bots weapons collisions and 45 FPS performance.

Minecraft modders continue to push the Java Edition engine into territory that feels closer to outright game development than simple tweaks. The latest example comes from Luckey Faraday who successfully ported the Hijacked multiplayer map from Call of Duty Black Ops II to run natively as a Fabric mod.

This is not a block by block recreation or a computer screen inside the game world. The map collision bots navmesh weapons and rendering all operate directly on top of Minecrafts own systems. Footage shows the level running at 41 to 48 frames per second while players move through the yacht environment and engage with functional bots.

From Browser Experiment To Full Integration

The project evolved in stages. An earlier version placed a browser based port of the map onto an in game PC that players could interact with. The new release goes much further by rebuilding the core game logic in Java so Hijacked essentially becomes a Minecraft dimension with its own ruleset layered on the familiar blocky foundation.

This level of technical crossover highlights exactly why Minecrafts modding ecosystem stays relevant. While official updates add biomes and structures creators are out here stitching entire FPS maps into the game at the engine level. The result feels less like a gimmick and more like the natural endpoint of unrestricted Java creativity.

The mod remains a work in progress. Features are still being expanded and it is distributed as a proof of concept rather than a polished public release. Even in its current state it demonstrates what dedicated modders can achieve when they treat Minecraft as a versatile runtime instead of just a building game.
